Sophia’s POV

My eyes slowly fluttered open and I tried to move, but my hands and legs were bound. I was tied to a wooden chair. Fuck.

All the memories started rushing back to me slowly and I tried to make sense of all that was going on right now but I wasn’t sure I could. The only thing my head could comprehend right now was the fact that I had been kidnapped. But I didn’t know why. And I didn’t know by who.

Why would someone kidnap me? Or was it Ian? Did he do it because he thought they I was going to reveal his secret? If he thought that then he was terribly wrong. I wasn’t interested in revealing his secret to anyone. In fact I wasn’t interested in anything that had to do with him.

My chest was hurting seriously and there was a lump in my throat. I knew I was about to cry and I couldn’t help it. I had fallen in love with Ian. I knew I had fallen in love with Ian. But now I was just finding out that I had fallen in love with a monster. It was a harsh reality to comprehend. I had fallen in love with a killer. I had been sleeping with a killer. I had shared the same bed with a killer.

It was something I could barely understand, and now I was feeling repulsed by myself. I should have known, but he didn’t even give any hints, apart from that day that he had turned away from me because I had scratched my hand and I was bleeding. He had turned away because of the scent of the blood.

It all made sense now.

And he had acted human so perfectly that I would have never suspected that there was something wrong if I didn’t overhear the conversation between him and his brother.

A tear slid down my cheek as I looked around. I was in a dark place. A warehouse, probably. I just didn’t know who it was that brought me here but it might have been him. It might have been Ian, or his brother who looked like he was going to kill me in any second while I was still there.

I sniffed, the tears pouring out of my eyes faster now. I didn’t know what to think. I didn’t know what I should be thinking. Luckily, my mouth wasn’t gagged or taped so I could still speak.

“Ian?” I called out weakly, trying to frenmy hands but it seemed like the more I struggled the tighter it got. And my head was beginning to ache from the way that person had hit me.

“Ian?” I called out again, gulping. Did that mean that he wasn’t here? Did that mean that he had just brought me here and left me to rot or die because he didn’t want me to tell his secrets?

My heart began to pound harder in my chest. My parents…my family…Jenny…. They would never find out what had happened to me and just thinking about that was torture but I couldn’t help it.

“Ian?” I called out again, my voice getting louder and stronger.

I knew I wasn’t alone here. I could feel a presence around me, I just didn’t know who it was and why the person didn’t want to talk.

“Ian? Please answer me…untie me at least,” I begged. There was nothing but pindrop silence. Whoever it was wasn’t ready to answer me at all. All they wanted to do was hear my misery because they killed me.

“Ian?” I called out again, my voice breaking.

“Oh please, would you just shut up?” A voice snapped. I opened my mouth to call Ian’s name once again when I realized that it was a female that had called me and not him.

A woman.

Slowly, she came into view and I could see what she looked like. She had black hair and she was dressed in a pink jacket, white turtleneck top and pink trousers. She has black eyes that seemed to be staring deep into my soul. But I didn’t know who she was.

“Who are you?” I asked. “What do you want with me? Why am I here?”

“You certainly do have a lot of questions, don’t you?” She asked with a sigh and shook her head before kissing her teeth. “Too bad, I don’t think I can answer all of your questions right now.”

“Or maybe I should?” She added after a while or silence like she was deciding what information I deserved and what I didn’t deserve to know.

“Okay, fine, fine..I’m going to answer all your questions,” she answered with a sigh. “First of all, I’m Freya,” she said. “And what do I want with you? Oh darling, I want you gone. I’m here to get rid of you.”

Slowly, recognition filled me. She was the Freya who was supposed to get married to Ian. She was the one who had kidnapped me.

“Wh—why?” I asked with a shaky voice. I was scared of her. And I was even more scared for my life. Only a fool wouldn’t be scared of her. She looked ruthless, ND there was no telling what she Could do to me. And I certainly didn’t want to find out.

“You had the audacity to spread you filthy legs for him. For my man. For the man who is supposed to be my husband. You spread your filthy legs for him and then made him fall in love with you so that he marked you!” She seethed, maring her teeth at me. Her eyes turned red and there were lines around her eyes…she had fangs that were bared at me. She looked like she was about to rip my throat out.

“I swear I didn’t know that he belonged to you…I didn’t know anything about him…I didn’t even know that he marked me. I swear I –” A dirty slap was what shut me up.

“You did. See, girl, I don’t tolerate lies and I get really cranky when someone lies to me. So I’d advice you don’t lie to me, okay?” She said and touched my hair. “You were the one who told him to mark you.”

“I’ll stay out of you both lives, I swear. I want nothing to do with him,” I promised but she shook her head.

“He already marked you, sweetie. You can’t stay out of his life, I’m afraid. You’re now his. And the only way to stop all this madness between you and him is if you’re dead. That way, he’ll be mine once again. Forever,” she said and grinned.

“Ian had always belonged to me. He and I were supposed to get married and I was supposed to be his queen, only for him to leave me on our wedding day and come back to this filth human world. I thought he wasn’t ready and he still needed a little bit of time to get used to the fact tjay he was going to be our king…but then he marked you. You thought you could take him away from me huh? You’re wrong.”

“Now, how should I kill you?” She continued and then touched her chin as if she was thinking.

“Freya, please,” I begged. “Please.”

“Shhh baby girl,” she murmured. “Should I just drain you of your blood? Hmm. That won’t do. I want you to feel pain and I’m afraid that isn’t painful at all.”

The walked around me so she was now standing behind me and I couldn’t see her. “How about I cut your throat? I think that would give you the pain I want you to go through.”

She grabbed a handful of my hair and tilted my head back, baring my throat. The cold metal of the knife touched my throat and I went limp, giving up. I closed my eyes as hot tears streamed down my cheeks. I was dying for something that wasn’t even my fault.

My parents wouldn’t even know what really happened to me. Jenny would never know what happened to me. And Simon and Sarah…all because I fell in love with a monster… All because I had a one night stand.

“In your next life,” she murmured, her mouth close to my ear. “In your next life, you would never take something that doesn’t belong to you, hmm?”

I squeezed my eyelids shut, trying to make the tears stop. I took my finally breath and then there was sound of skin tearing open. Pain washed through me instantly. Unbearable pain. I opened my mouth to scream, but no sound came out. No sound at all. I opened my eyes, and she was now standing in front of me, a cruel gleam in her eyes and the bloody knife in her hand. I wanted to talk, but I was choking on my own blood, the pain just too much. I wanted it to end once and for all.

I closed my eyes once again and gave up finally.

**

Freya’s POV.

I watched as the redhead bitch went limp in the chair, blood pouring out her throat. Something seemed wrong. I don’t know why but I felt like something was terrible wrong. I had known Ian since we were kids and somehow I just knew that he wouldn’t leave a woman he loved undefended.

I had been watching them for a while now and I knew he was in love with her. If he wasn’t then he wouldn’t have men shadowing her every movement. Thankfully I killed them before I took her away. But it wasn’t enough. I just knew that there had to be something he did to guarantee that she remained alive.

I stared at her already pale and lifeless body. Ian knew there were people after her and he wouldn’t just leave her to be walking around without any assurance on her life even though he had men shadowing her.

Something assured me that she would wake up after a few hours, and the horrible gash on her throat would have been closed up. I just needed to be sure. I would have to kill her again and for that I’d need her to transition first if she actually did wake up. If I decide to stake her or remove her heart, then the pain of dying would be over quickly for her and I didn’t want that.

I wanted her to feel the life draining away from her second by second. I was going to leave her in the sun to burn. There was no other choice but to do that. She should feel the same pain I had felt when I heard that Ian had marked an human girl in the human world.

I ran my hands through my hair and tied it in a bun. I was hungry. And I needed to feed. I turned around and left, stepping out of the warehouse. There was a guy walking across the street, his face buried in his phone.

I sighed and shook my head. These humans and their terrible addiction to their phones. A grim smile appeared on my face before I vamped to him and sank my teeth in his veins.

His phone dropped from his hands and his body shook nx convulsed. When I felt him dying, I left him and bit my wrist, bringing my wrist to his mouth and feeding him my blood so he could heel.

I stared into his eyes. “You’re going to go into that warehouse right now and stab your arm with something. Make sure you’re bleeding when she wakes up and you cannot leave the warehouse no matter what. Make sure she kills you when you wake up. You’re going to die anyways,” I said, compelling him.

He stared at me, nodding slowly but when it was obvious that he was too weak to get up, I sighed and carried him in myself then left.
