It is true that people always do things unaware of the consequences. The many mistakes we do are what shape stronger us. Zeynep of course, had no idea what his unruly brother would do after she showed him mercy. Halil Ibrahim had no idea that bringing a spy into their home would result to turning their marriage and lives upside down. But that's how people learn right? As much as Halil Ibrahim and Zeynep's actions built their relationship, their actions as well, demolished it. For a person with Halil Ibrahim's character, consequences can be dealt with. As long as there's room for reformation, we can all turn demerit to merit. However, Zeynep's character is somewhat different. She feels every mistake she makes and even though she also makes it up with more goodness, how much can a person's goodness change anything if what they did was willingly?
On her way to Halil Ibrahim's arms played several images in her head. How she pushed him away with her words, how she called herself a part of his plan and most of all how she interrogated him of his identity even after he promised to tell her in due time. Could giving him that hug erase it all? No it won't but at this moment, at that moment;she could only see half of her heart on a hospital bed throwing it's hands up... waiting for her to claim it. The moment she fell into his arms is when it really hit her, how much she missed his embrace, his scent and his warmth. It was as if she had gone back to that day, the day they had their first official kiss. The day they decided to let lose and accept all consequences but not miss out on living their lives and love.
Zeynep had been a mess for almost a day now, she cried floods when Halil dropped down unconscious, she kept on crying when the doctors had minimal hope of his survival, she also couldn't hold her tears back when he uttered his first word and now she tears up in his arms. Halil Ibrahim has tears in his eyes too, he hugged Zeynep so tight despite his wounds. He couldn't even complain from the pain because the pain of losing her was far worse than whatever bullets could do. He couldn't breathe properly for months and that one hug gave him life, how much he misses her and yearns for her...
At that moment, they forgot it all... the world as well as their problems. They were just two lovers dying for each other's embrace. Zeynep suddenly let go and stood right by Halil's bed. She turned her head facing the door and her hand could be seen trembling slightly. She uses her hand and wipes her tears off her face. Halil Ibrahim could only see her hair covering her face, his face wore a confused look for a second then it turned depressed. Zeynep snuffles then proceeds, "I'm sorry for that... I got carried away. I promise it won't happen again." She says while she had turned her face away from Halil Ibrahim. Halil looks at her bitterly and strains to raise his body from the bed, with great pain he successfully manages to sit upright. Zeynep on the other hand doesn't dare turn her head his direction even while all this happens, she had clenched her fist so her heart wouldn't command her body once again.
"Will you not even look at me?" Halil complained, "Zeynep, can't you even let me look at your eyes for just a moment?" He continued. Zeynep with no reaction continues standing like a statue, you could slightly see her body trembling from the internal strifle; her mind and heart were at war. The winner is obvious but since her heart hardly commands any of her body parts to move, her brain is at a slight advantage. Halil can see how she struggles with herself, his heart aches for her. "How did they get to this state?" he wondered. He recalls how brave she fought for her love, how much they had planned together in each other's arms. Halil Ibrahim moves his hand reaching out for Zeynep's trembling hands. Although it's painful for him, he still insists and finally lands it on hers. She's startled then tries to let go but Halil firms his grip.
"Hey..." he calls, " Zeynep, please..." his voice has now softened. He swings his hand slightly to catch her attention. Finally Zeynep looks his way, she looks so defeated and conflicted. She wonders why he could be so insisting when all she's done was harm him.
" Please don't do this to us Zeynep..." Halil Ibrahim says.
" Halil Ibrahim, can't you see the state you are in?" Zeynep miserably speaks. "We are clearly not right for each other." She adds.
" Why would you say that? Don't you love me Zeynep? Don't you miss me? Don't you want to see us living out our lives together?" Halil bitterly replies. "We lived our love despite all odds, I wonder what changed... I wonder why you changed...?"
"I didn't change, I just decided to accept reality. Our two families won't let us know peace, and the harder we try, the uglier our lives will turn. So just let me go Halil Ibrahim, let me go while I haven't hurt you even more." Zeynep cries.
"But I don't want you to go... I want you to stand by me so we can fight your family together. " Halil replied.
Zeynep wipes her tears then says, "I'm so sorry for all this, am sorry that I've always caused you pain even while I tried to help. I asked Sota to leave Tamer alive and this is the punishment I get. You don't need to forgive me, I know I won't be able to forgive myself anyways. Am so grateful that you faught hard to live, thank you for not letting me live with the guilt of indirectly murdering the love of my life. Am also grateful of the love we shared all this time, I've lived the best moments of my life with you Halil Ibrahim..."
Zeynep leans and gives Halil Ibrahim a long cheek kiss. She closes her eyes and stays hugging him for a minute, then she whispers in his ear, "I love you so much Halil Ibrahim... I won't ever stop loving you." She stands up and walks to the door.
"Zeynep, don't do this..." Halil Ibrahim begs...
She holds the doorknob then says," Our story ends here Halil Ibrahim, if there's another life, I hope we can meet again so that I can repay your love a thousand fold."
As she opens the door to leave she still hears Halil Ibrahim's voice calling and coughing. Everyone outside is so shocked to see this scene, they all look so surprised as they see Zeynep running down the hallway. Turan and Osman run to the ward door and they see the devastated Halil Ibrahim, he turns his face to the window and a tear falls from his eye. Meanwhile, Zeynep found herself the first corner from Halil's ward. Her heart is in shambles, it's suffocating, she can't breathe. The nurses from the nurse station run to her asking if she's ok but she can't answer. She decides to run outside so she can breathe well. "Is this how it feels like dying of suffocation?" She wonders as she runs out.
"Breathe Zeynep..." she thinks, right now she is holding onto a wall. She has bent her body down, she is trying to catch her breathe which she can't seem to be successful in.
"Come on... Breathe in... Breathe out..." A man said. Zeynep raises her head and she sees a middle aged guy. He wasn't too tall nor too short, particularly handsome with a slight beard. This man had a smile on his face, he wore a white t-shirt and a leather jacket with blue jeans. He had his hand on her shoulder and another on her back, slightly patting her.
"Come on, follow me... in... out..." He said while enacting the breathing. They repeated it several times and Zeynep slowly started breathing fine, her trembling also started reducing.
"Thank you..." Zeynep says.
"No problem, anyone would do the same if they saw you in such a state..." The man replies. Suddenly when Zeynep wanted to leave, the man called, "Ah, excuse me, can I get your name please?"
"Are you new here?" Zeynep asks.
"Unfortunately, my mom was admitted here so I came from Istanbul to visit..." The man replies, "Ah, am Ali, by the way..." Ali extends his hand to Zeynep for a handshake. Zeynep looks at him then extends her's back then replies, "Am Zeynep... thank you for helping me..."
"Nice to meet you Zeynep and you are welcome..." He says.
While this was happening Oguz was standing at Halil's ward window, he noticed how Zeynep met a man on the street and he also noticed her speaking to him. He wanted to check more but Osman suddenly calls him, he asks an unimportant question that removes his focus from Zeynep and the man. The moment he checks again Zeynep is nowhere to be seen and neither is the man. "Where could Zeynep have gone?" Oguz wonders, he checks the street once more but he doesn't see her anywhere.
"Halil Ibrahim, seeing that you are doing fine... I'll head home. There's more drama going on there so I need to take care of it. I'll see you sometime soon and get well soon..." Fikret says as he pats Halil Ibrahim's leg. Him, Yavuz, Leyla and Elif decide to go back home, they also greet everyone and head out. Before Fikret exits, Halil Ibrahim calls, "Fikret, Please look after Zeynep for me. When I get out of here, I'll go bring her home myself." Fikret nods then leaves the ward. Now only a few people remain, Sema, Turan, Edanur and Osman are arguing as usual. Oguz stares as Halil Ibrahim and he looks sad, he approaches him and says, "I think you two should cool off a bit..." He explains to Halil Ibrahim how he needs to rest and recover then he can find Zeynep and speak to her once more. He also added that Halil Ibrahim let Zeynep cool herself off and maybe have some alone time so she can really weigh the pros and cons to her actions...
"I was already planning on letting her have some alone time..." Halil whispered, " But now that she saw me almost die, it's really going to tear us apart."
Halil Ibrahim has always seen the fear in his wife's eyes, Zeynep never liked how he run towards danger, she always feared of him dying and leaving her alone in this world. No matter what, Halil also worked hard to not let her witness him in any danger but to no avail. It's like Zeynep came face to face with her own fear, how can she move on from that? That's why, Halil while waiting for her to walk through the door, he already planned to make her see how welcoming he was. He wanted her to see him with the same fear she feels so she won't blame herself that much. Despite what happened moments before he was shot, he was ready to forget it all so Zeynep wouldn't distance herself even more. However, all his efforts went to waste. Now how is he going to get her back? Will they even be able to come back to their old state? Halil Ibrahim thought long and longer but there was no answer.
Finally, three days later, Halil Ibrahim is getting discharged from the hospital. He hasn't seen Zeynep since she walked out on him, he felt somehow sad because of it but his mind was already made. For the time being, he planned to focus on fixing his personal life before he gets back to playing vigilante. Moreover, the new villain was in hiding still, he'd have to cause trouble so he can fish him out. In that sense, he planned to use this time to find Zeynep and patch things up with her. So the moment he got out of the hospital he headed straight to the Leto house, asking for Zeynep the guards informed him that she hadn't been home for days. He asked to enter so he can check himself but the guards told him that Leto house has no Letos anymore, he'd be wasting his own time entering.
Halil Ibrahim left the Leto house and headed to Asiye's house. Fortunately he meets Fikret, he asks about Zeynep and Fikret informs him that Zeynep sent him a message a few days ago. She asked for forgiveness and that she'll be staying at their summer house to collect her thoughts. Fikret adds that he didn't bother her since then and hasn't heard from her also. Halil Ibrahim found it strange, it was the first time that Zeynep has done something like this. The only times Zeynep disappeared are when she had gotten into trouble hence this silence started growing fear in his heart. He quickly left Asiye's house and headed to the Leto summer house, he had began to look anxious. He knew that he had taken care of all dangers therefore, this would mean that a new villain was in town.
He drove his Jeep in haste and as he had no phone, he couldn't even call Oguz or the Major for help. All sorts of scenarios played in shuffle in his head. He didn't want to imagine the worst but unfortunately in his world worst is the best he could imagine. Eventually, he arrived at the summer house. He quickly got off his car and ran into the house, "Zeynep...!" he called out, "Zeynep, are you here?" He called out several times but only silence replied. He checked the whole first floor but to no avail, then he decided to check the second floor. Opening the first door he noticed a rose on a bed, "Zeynep..." he called as he entered. No one replied, "Zeynep, are you in here?" he called out again yet no one replied either. Slowly he approached the bed and the rose, under the rose was a white envelope. He grabbed the envelope, it was relatively heavy when he picked it up. On the surface there were words that read 'OPEN' written on it, Halil Ibrahim slowly opened it and inside he sees a card and a phone in it.
His hands starts slightly shaking, his heart was almost in his mouth because he knew what he had imagined had come true. It was obvious, someone had kidnapped Zeynep. However this time, Halil Ibrahim has completely been caught off guard and he has no idea who the kidnapper is. He checked the card and it was written, 'LET'S PLAY A GAME' on it. Then suddenly the phone rang and when he picked it up it showed Zeynep in a video. She was tied up and a drip was connected to her hand, she looked unconscious and helplessness on a bed. Halil seeing that he put the phone on his ear then asked while sounding completely pissed off, "Who are you?"
"If you want to know who I am, find me. Plus since I found her, I keep her..." a voice sarcastically responded.
I have no time for your games, you can return Zeynep and I'll play with you whatever you want..." Halil Ibrahim commanded.
"I told you, founders keepers... I found her I keep her. If you want to keep her, you have to find her first." The voice replied. " You like to play hero, don't you Halil Ibrahim? I'll give you three days... I think that's enough time for you, right?"
"You should know... you also have three days if I find you..." Halil threatened.
"But until you find me... tick... tock, tick... tock..." Then he hung up the phone.
