Fate had always played a big part in Zeynep and Halil's lives. At a young age, the two met and subtly fell in love. Zeynep perhaps was louder than Halil with her love but Halil didn't miss a day without saying Zeynep's name back home. He always narrated stories to his dad about how they fought each other, how they fought others and also how their day went along. He always mentioned how he looked forward to getting back at Zeynep for whatever vendetta they had from school. It was a known fact to both the Letos and Karasus that their children laughed, cried and even played together. Both families couldn't stand each other but Halil and Zeynep looked forward to their mornings and hoped for the nights to never come. Like firewood, their families' fued fueled the need for each other and that's how their story started.

However, after that morning, the morning of Halil's dad's assassination Halil their story took another turn. They both were forced to lead different and separate lives. Halil grew up in Istanbul while Zeynep was stuck in KaraDeniz. After ten years of waiting, Zeynep found herself betrothed to the Kulpa family courtesy of her step mother. Halil hearing that, he could only join the army hoping for it to partake the role of distracting him from thinking about it. He trained hard and long to wipe her name from his heart, erase her face from his brain but her memory to him was imprinted on him like a tattoo. Forever inked not to be erased. Every time he sneaked into KaraDeniz, he saw her sit at her balcony, her hair flying due to the wind with her hand on her cheek. She looked deep in thought but he never once hoped she thought of him. However, the truth was that Zeynep never forgot about him.

Her pillow was always wet from her tears, she cried for hours everytime she was forced to the marriage. When she stood in front of a mirror, she could only see Halil's shadow reflected instead. Every time her dad forced her to Levent, she felt so disgusted she sometimes threw up. However, such is life, the possibility of her meeting Halil in this life was close to zero. She could not just stay alone all her life aching for her childhood love. At some point, she would have had to let him go and move on. Let her first love end like how every other first love story in the world does. So she decided to leave for America, away from her hometown. Away from the smell of the town that reminded her of Halil Ibrahim. Away from the streets which they used to run across and also from the fragments that pierced her broken heart.

America was obviously an excuse for Zeynep but for Halil Ibrahim it was a choice. A choice for him to move on and forget about their fate. If his hope for love was gone, he thought life wasn't worth living. That's how he decided to join in a very dangerous mission. He paired with Oguz and while they were almost completing it, the only option for them was for either one of them to sacrifice themselves and get captured by the bandits. Halil volunteered himself and thus helped Oguz out. He was tortured in all kinds of ways and was broken into several pieces he couldn't recognize. Every time he lost his will, Zeynep visited his dreams. He could hear a voice calling out his name, the voice as sweet as birds singing and calm as the night sea, which finally makes his heart beat again. That's how he survived the five years in captivity until Oguz came to his rescue. On the other hand, Zeynep became officially engaged to Levent despite her escape to The States. She now had a ring on her finger which actually felt like a leash on her neck. This leash always struggled her till she couldn't breathe every time she wore it.

Halil also took on the responsibility of ridding KaraDeniz of evil thus connected with a girl who's been crushing on him for years. He planned to move on and forget about his love Zeynep. Therefore he came to propose marriage to Yasemin. Little did he know that the day he plans to move on from his feelings rooting twenty years back is the day Zeynep will appear in front of him. She came back and the moment he saw her, his heart started beating in a different tone. He tried to stay calm to never rekindle any bit of the love he had for her but his efforts were like pissing in the wind. Zeynep automatically reclaimed her place in his heart and he didn't hear no bells or any signals as a warning. Just like that, she became the crown on his head and everything he did from then on was for her, by her and with her.

Zeynep came back from America after she finished her studies. She thought it was enough running and if there was a problem, it was better to tackle it head on. The years she spent overseas nurtured her resilience and will to stand for herself. She came back with no wish of becoming a Kulpa daughter-in-law nor take part in the dirty deeds of her family. However, everything changed the moment she heard Halil's name. At first, she thought she was mistaken but the moment her brother explained to her about Halil, she knew right there and then that the one she spent ten years trying to forget had appeared once again. Not wishing to miss the chance this time, she immediately went to him at the first chance she got. Honey was dripping from her eyes when their eyes met for the first time after so long. She wished to hug him or even pull his hair for that matter but she kept her cool and just asked for his phone number.

Fate was at it again, it brought them together when they least expected it. Just as it separated them through their families fued, it also united them in the same way. Zeynep did everything she could to protect Halil and Halil made sure to repay Zeynep with completing all her wishes. The give and take brought them closer and this time they managed to live their love. No matter how short it was, they tasted how loving each other felt like and no matter the distance, no matter the fault... staying away from each other got so much harder than the twenty years that passed. Halil and Zeynep now face the same situation they've faced several times. Their families as fault and distance is making them be a victim of fate once again. And as Halil drove his car towards the house, the pictures in Zeynep's box were another bomb ready to explode on their faces once again.

The sky just got gloomy all of a sudden. Crows kept crowing and flying around the Karasu premises. The sudden change of weather alarmed everyone, especially Zeynep, she stood at the window staring at the sky. Heavy and dark clouds gathered covering the whole sky. Zeynep glanced towards the gates but saw no signs of Halil or Halil's car approaching. These weren't normal times, there was danger lurking outside those gates. She couldn't help but worry about Halil Ibrahim's absence. So she decided to head outside and wait for him there. Zeynep grabbed a shoal from the bed and headed outside. At the front porch, the wind was blowing intensely. Despite the persuasions from Turan and Oguz, Zeynep ignored them and bravely stood by the door to wait for Halil's arrival.

It's as if something inside her sensed the danger that was about to happen.

Not too long later, Halil's car made it's entrance into the house. Halil noticing Zeynep standing outside, he quickly packed his car and ran towards her. He wondered why she stood out there even though the weather had gotten that scary. He then held her and they both headed inside the house. Everyone was sitting in the living room when they entered. Before everything changed, the living room used to be so lively at times like these. There was a fire place that warmed it up which set the perfect mood for cuddles and family gatherings. Thanks to the weather, they all got to relieve that moment once again. Osman and Oguz took one corner, Sema EdaNur and Turan took another. The middle couch was always Halil and Zeynep's place. Today too, their seats were still the same. So Halil and Zeynep went on and sat.

Silence filled the room for a minute. The silence was so loud it was deafening, faces were faced down and no one dared look Halil and Zeynep in the eyes. It seemed like they wanted to tell them something yet no one dared to start. That's when Halil threatened, "If you guys have nothing to say, we'll head upstairs. There's something I need to ask Zeynep." He then offered Zeynep his hand and they both stood up.

"Wait..."

"Zeynep, Sema and I would like to apologize to you..." EdaNur conjured up her courage and spoke.

Zeynep was somehow surprised, she didn't think the girls would've come around just yet. In her view, she prepared herself for more of their harsh words and insults before they could warm up to her once again.

"We really shouldn't have treated you like that..." EdaNur adds, she also pinches Sema so she can say something or maybe apologize as well.

"I'm sorry I treated you badly..." Sema apologizes.

Zeynep looks at them and she looks glad. She had been suffering and fighting this fight alone. They both decided to turn on her and while she couldn't tell them the actual reason for her choices, it made their friendship even worse.

"I'd have done the same thing if I were in your shoes..." Zeynep replies to them gracefully. She never took them as enemies in the first place. Anyone would be protective of their friend if they saw their friend hurting. Furthermore, Halil was their friend first before Zeynep so it was obvious they would side with him more than they would side with her.

Thanks to this, Halil and Zeynep both retuned to their seats. The tension between the girls was now getting better. The men who had no issues with Zeynep were able to breathe fine now. Osman and Turan quickly started cracking some jokes and letting out laughters. It was almost as if they've gone back to those days. The days where they would sit together for hours; Osman with a plate in his hand, Turan getting scolded about something by Sema, Oguz and EdaNur whispering secretly and Halil and Zeynep in their own little bubble of love. Outside, rain accompanied by lighting and thunderstorm had started. The sky lit due to the lightning and loud cracks of thunderstorm split the sky in half. This scared the girls and they all jumped up terrified.

Suddenly the lights went out and a huge light lit straight into the living room. As if someone had deliberately stationed that huge light means on their fence. Unaware of what was happening, they all stood up to check but the light outside was so blinding none of them could successfully point out a thing that was happening outside.

"Mhm-hmm ahem..." A voice was heard clearing their throat. "I really, really hate to spoil your fun guys..."

It was the voice of a man, a man that Zeynep and Halil have met just recently. A man who made Halil live his nightmare during the day. The same man that held Zeynep captive and set up a bomb next to an elementary school full of kids. It was the same crazy man that was and is their new enemy, however, none of them knew exactly why he's here and what his business was. On top of that, that man had came to their house.

Halil slowly took Zeynep's hand and held it tightly swearing to himself to protect Zeynep even at the cost of his own life. Zeynep on the other hand also swore to herself to never let that hand go and if she does it'd mean she was alive no more. Oguz hearing that, he quickly grabbed his phone and tried to call the police but the call wasn't going through.

"Ah, I forgot to tell you... Phones won't work unfortunately... See, I got signal jammers so we could have fun without any disruptions." The voice continued.
