Yesterday felt like an emotional rollercoaster. My mind was all over the place, and I couldn't stop thinking about Aviyaan's strange behavior. He had been so close, so different-nothing like the Aviyaan I knew. The Aviyaan I trusted. So why did he act this way? My heart wanted to believe everything was fine, but my mind couldn't stop doubting.

I went to bed with these thoughts swirling in my head, and when I woke up this morning at my usual time, I felt the same weight in my chest. I combed my hair and tried to shake the thoughts away as I got ready.

After dressing, I walked to the dining hall and sat at my usual spot. I started eating breakfast but couldn't stop thinking.

"Aviyaan, you will take me to the hospital," Shanaya's voice broke through my thoughts.

"Actu-" Aviyaan began, but before he could finish, Aunty interrupted.

"No, why bother him? I'll take you," she said calmly. Shanaya raised her brow but nodded without arguing further.

I knew I shouldn't feel this way. I should let it go and not let my heart hurt, but no matter how much I tried to push it away, the ache stayed. It felt like a small pain buried deep inside me, and it wouldn't go away.

I sighed as I tried to focus on my breakfast, but the pain lingered. Some feelings are just too strong to ignore, and no matter how much I wanted to pretend everything was fine, my heart had its own way of reminding me.

I stood up to head to my university, as i was walking towards the exit i saw Aditya standing there,

I raised my brow, "I will drop you," he said, i nodded and was about to walk but Aviyaan's voice stopped me,

"Don't bother Aditya, i will drop her, she is my family. And moreover i am going to that side only," He said, and why the heck he is thinking that i would go with him, duh..

"No one is bothering me, i just want to drop her," Aditya said, i nodded.

"I will drop her," Aviyaan said, his tone matter-of-fact. It's feels like the Old Aviyaan and Aditya, they used to bicker alot on unnecessary things,

"Come Elaina," Aviyaan said, i looked at Aditya who gave me sweet smile, i reciprocated it,

I trailed behind Aviyaan and sat inside the car,

After sitting in his car, memories from my childhood flooded back. I remembered what he had once told me: I would be the only one to sit in the passenger seat of his car. But now, that seat no longer belonged to me. It was taken by someone else. I wasn't the only one who had ever sat there. A painful smile tugged at my lips.

He was driving, and I sat there in silence. Neither of us said a word, and honestly, I didn't want to engage in conversation with him either.

"Which work do you have near my university?," The question had been nagging at me ever since I got in, and I couldn't hold it in any longer.

"Office work," he replied, his voice flat. I nodded, not sure what else to say.

When he dropped me in front of the university, I noticed Anaya standing there, a confused look on her face.

We walked inside together, heading towards my class.

After the day's classes were done, I found myself waiting for my car to arrive. Anaya was with me.

Suddenly, a car pulled up in front of us. It was his car. I glanced at the person inside, then quickly turned my gaze to Anaya. At that moment, I saw her car approaching as well.

She gave me a knowing look and said, "Aviyaan, I will go with her in my car. We need to study together." She added, "You'll be getting late." With that, Anaya walked towards Aviyaan's car.

He nodded without saying a word, but not before casting a quick glance in my direction. Then, he drove away.

Sighing, I sat into Anaya's car. We made our way to the mansion, and once there, we freshened up and had something to eat. Afterward, Anaya and I retreated to my room to get serious about studying for the upcoming exams.

Two or three hours later, we were almost done. Deciding to take a break, we headed to where Sharanvi, Aadhav Uncle, and Papa were sitting. We joined them, and the conversation flowed casually.

Just then, I heard Shanaya's voice from outside. I could tell she was entering the house, and a moment later, she and Shreya Aunty stepped inside. I could overhear their conversation.

"Why did you ask for the DNA test?," Shanaya asked, clearly upset, her disappointment showing.

"I just wanted confirmation," Aunty replied nonchalantly.

"Now what? You have your confirmation now, don't you?," Shanaya's voice was full of frustration.

Aunty nodded, a calm expression on her face. "Yes, this child is Aviyaan's."

I felt a lump form in my throat. What was I even expecting? This had always been the most obvious outcome. Of course, the child was Aviyaan's. But why did it hurt so much? Why did my heart feel like it was being suffocated, as though someone was pressing down on my throat? I couldn't swallow. I couldn't even force myself to throw up. I just felt still, trapped in a silence I couldn't escape. Is not it too much for me.

I glanced at Anaya, who was already looking at me, and gave her a quick smile. I didn't want to stress her out; I could handle things on my own.

"I will be back," I told Anaya before getting up and heading toward my room. As I entered, I locked the door behind me and rushed over to the mirror. I stared at my reflection, almost in disbelief.

My eyes were hollow, drained of any emotion. My face, once glowing with vitality, now appeared lifeless, like the face of a walking corpse. I used to be so full of energy, so joyful. Now, all that was gone.

Then my gaze fell on the pendant around my neck. My fingers instinctively reached up to touch it, and a smile tugged at my lips. A tear escaped from my eye, unbidden. The memories flooded back.

"Come on, Hoor," he groaned, frustration evident in his voice.

"Let it be, Avi," I said, trying to shrug him off.

"But Hoor, how am I going to find something like that?," He sat beside me on the sofa, his voice filled with frustration, I sighed deeply.

"I just want something meaningful, something that will make our bond stronger. I have everything I could ever ask for, but I want something that speaks to us, to what we have," I explained.

He stared at me for a long moment before standing up and walking away without saying a word.

I waited. The party was in full swing, everyone was gathered around, but I was focused on one person: Avi. He had left and hadn't come back. Time seemed to crawl, and I found myself glancing repeatedly at the door, hoping for his return.

Standing before the cake, a knife in my hand, I couldn't shake the feeling of longing. My eyes kept drifting to the door, searching for him.

"Mama, where's Aviyaan?," I asked my mother.

"Here," a familiar voice answered from behind me, and I turned to see Avi standing there with a smile. Relief washed over me. I returned his smile, and cut the cake.

Everyone else handed me gifts, but Avi didn't have one. He probably hadn't found anything yet.

Later, I placed all the gifts in my room and turned back to the mirror, my reflection staring back at me. Just as I was lost in my thoughts, the door creaked open, and there he was. Avi. My heart skipped a beat.

A smile crept onto my face as he walked towards me, his hand extended. In his palm, he held two intertwined pendants, their delicate design glinting in the light.

"These will make our bond stronger," he said softly, his voice filled with sincerity.

He gently turned me towards the mirror, his hands steady as he placed the pendant around my neck. "You will not take this off, not until I replace it with the nuptial chain," he whispered.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I turned to look at him. He, too, wore the other pendant. My heart swelled with emotion. I could feel the weight of his promise, of our connection, as if nothing could break it.

He smiled at me, and I smiled back, the bond between us solidified in that moment.

Now, as I stood alone in my room, the memories rushed back with a flood of emotion. The pendant he had given me, the promise he made-it all felt so real, so vivid. But now, staring at the pendant in my hand, I couldn't hold it together any longer. With a trembling hand, I unclipped it from my neck, and a sob escaped my lips, my heart breaking all over again.
