Nisha Sharma, a celebrated archaeologist at the Archaeological Survey of India, had always been drawn to the mysteries of the past. Her reputation for unraveling historical enigmas was unmatched, a testament to her dedication and keen intellect. Her latest assignment promised to be one of her most exciting yet: a survey to uncover evidence from the Mahabharata period.
As she ventured into a newly discovered site, she was as excited as a five year old going to witness amusement park for the first time. Her colleague, Raj, had unearthed a gleaming idol of Lord Shri Krishna, but Nisha thought something was off about then Raj replied "yeah, the deity was missing his iconic flute". Nisha, with her deep respect for the ancient texts and artifacts, was thrilled at the prospect of finding the missing piece.
While Raj stepped away to fetch tea, Nisha's curiosity led her to continue digging. The air in the underground chamber was cool and still, punctuated only by the soft scrape of her feet against the earth. After hours of meticulous work, her heart skipped a beat as her hand brushed against something solid—a hidden compartment in the idol’s base buried under the ground . With renewed energy, she carefully unearthed a delicate, ornate flute, its surface etched with ancient symbols.
Eager to reunite the flute with the idol, Nisha made her way back to the entrance. Her anticipation was palpable, the missing piece of the puzzle almost within reach. But as she emerged from the darkened chamber, perfectly attaching the flute with the idol, disaster struck. The ground beneath her gave way, the unstable earth giving in to the weight of her excavation.
Nisha's world erupted into chaos as she slipped, her vision blurring. A sharp pain exploded in her head when she hit a jagged rock. The tremor of the landslide closed in around her, the tunnel collapsing with a thunderous roar. Darkness swallowed her whole, the faint light of her torch was flickering but later gave up and the area was filled wuth darkness
In the pitch-black void, Nisha's consciousness fade away, the scream of Raj and falling debris mingling with the last echoes of her desperate breath. Her last image was of the shattered flute.
