-------

Nisha stepped gracefully down the aisle, Draupadi and Shikhandi by her sides, while Balram and Krishna followed behind her. The soft rustle of her heavily embroidered saree and the faint chime of her jewelry filled the air. Nakul's gaze was immediately drawn to her, his expression a mixture of awe and adoration. He was completely captivated, lost in her radiant beauty, as if she was a goddess descending to earth.

Nisha, however, was silently praying to the gods, pleading that she wouldn't stumble on the steps under the weight of her ornate attire. Despite her nervousness, she maintained a serene smile, her eyes occasionally darting towards Nakul, who sat in the mandap with folded hands. On his side was Yudhishthir, mirroring the same posture, while Dhoumya, assisted by the Brahmins of Ekchakranagar, recited the sacred mantras with a steady rhythm.

As she descended, her eyes lingered on Nakul, who looked ethereal, like the most handsome prince in all of Aryavart. In her admiration, she momentarily forgot about the stairs, her steps faltering slightly. Nakul instinctively moved as though to rise and help her, but Bheem quickly placed a firm hand on his shoulder and teased, "Dharya rakho, Nakul. Dekho, woh sambhal chuki hai." ("Patience, Nakul. Look, she has regained her balance.")

Nakul glanced at Bheem, embarrassed but smiling, before turning his gaze back to Nisha, who was now standing before the mandap. Balram stepped forward, gently took Nisha's hand, and led her inside the sacred space. She gracefully sat beside Nakul, mirroring the way Yudhishthir sat beside him.

The wedding rituals began, with the priests chanting mantras and the ceremonial fire crackling softly in the background. As the sacred words resonated in the air, petals rained down upon the couple, a momentary shower of blessings, as instructed by the priests. Nakul stole a glance at Nisha, her face glowing with a mixture of nervousness and happiness, and he couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the moment.

The ceremony had reached its most sacred moment. After a few minutes of reciting mantras, the priest, Dhoumya, called one of the helpers and asked for the sindoor (vermillion). The attendant brought a small silver container and handed it to the priest, who carefully passed it to Nakul, saying, "Ab vadhu ke maang par apni naam ki sindoor sajaiye, Rajkumar, aur aaj se yeh aapki hui. Aap inke rakshak hain, aur aap par inki jimmedari hai." ("Now, Prince, adorn the bride's forehead with the sindoor in your name. From today, she is yours. You are her protector, and she is your responsibility.")

Nakul, whose bright smile hadn't left his face throughout the ceremony, nodded earnestly. He moved closer to Nisha, who was sitting quietly, her eyes shyly meeting his. Nakul's expression softened as he gently lifted the maangtika (forehead ornament) resting on her hairline and applied the sindoor to her parting.

As he did so, a small amount of sindoor accidentally fell onto Nisha's nose. Nakul noticed this and instinctively reached to brush it off, but Mata Kunti interjected with a warm smile, saying, "Rehne do, putra. Yeh shubh hota hai." ("Leave it, my son. It is considered auspicious.")

Nakul nodded, letting the sindoor remain as it was, and glanced at Nisha, whose cheeks had turned a deep shade of red.

Next, the priest handed Nakul the mangalsutra (a sacred necklace symbolizing marriage). Nakul accepted it reverently and looked at Nisha, who lowered her neck slightly, her face glowing with emotion. With steady hands, Nakul tied the mangalsutra around her neck, sealing their union in the eyes of the divine and those present.

The priest then instructed everyone to stand. Nakul, Nisha, Balram, and Yudhishthir rose together. Dhoumya then declared, "Ab var-vadhu ek doosre ki chhoti ungli ko pakad ke agni ko sakshi maan kar saat phere lenge." ("Now, the bride and groom will hold each other's little finger and take seven vows around the sacred fire, considering it their witness.")

Following the priest's instructions, Nakul and Nisha intertwined their little fingers and began walking around the holy fire. Each step was accompanied by the chanting of mantras, their vows spoken silently in their hearts.

After the pheras, the attendants brought two garlands. Nisha was the first to place hers, but as she raised her hand, Bheem and Sahadev entered the mandap. Bheem cracked his knuckles and, with a mischievous grin, lifted Nakul off the ground. The crowd erupted in laughter.

Nisha narrowed her eyes, feigning annoyance, and turned to Balram and Krishna. Understanding her silent plea, Krishna and Balram lifted her as well. Elevated in the air, Nisha successfully placed the garland around Nakul's neck, and moments later, Nakul returned the gesture.

As they descended, the priest instructed, "Ab vadhu, var ke pair chhooengi, kyunki patni ke liye pati devta samaan hota hai." "Now, the bride will touch the groom's feet, as the husband is considered equivalent to a deity for the wife."

Nisha bent down to touch Nakul's feet. Nakul controlling his emotions and lifted Nisha up. Then Nakul immediately looked at Dhoumya and said, something which made everone shock "Raj purohit ji, mere liye toh Nisha bhi devi samaan hai. Isliye main bhi Nisha ke pair chhukar apne vivaah ke safal hone ka ashirwad loonga." ("Respected priest, for me, Nisha is also like a goddess. Therefore, I will touch her feet and seek her blessings for the success of our marriage.")

Nisha's eyes widened in disbelief, and she quickly protested, "Nakul, yeh kya kar rahe ho?" ("Nakul, what are you doing?")

Nakul replied calmly, "Nisha, kya mujhe adhikaar nahi ki main apni patni ke liye adar aur prem darshaun?" ("Nisha, do I not have the right to show respect and love for my wife?")

Without waiting for a response, Nakul bent down and touched her feet. The gathering erupted into murmurs of awe and admiration.

When the rituals concluded, Nakul and Nisha stood together, looking ethereal. Nakul's head was adorned with a mukut (crown), and Nisha looked like a goddess in her vibrant saree and garland. Together, they joined their hands in reverence, seeking the blessings of those present.

Mata Kunti, with tears in her eyes, showered a mixture of rice and turmeric over the couple, a gesture quickly followed by others.

As they moved to Yudhishthir who blessed them and Balram, hugged Nisha warmly and said, "Nisha ka khayal rakhna, Nakul. Aur Nisha, tum bhi Nakul ka sukh-dukh mein saath dena." ("Take care of Nisha, Nakul. And Nisha, stand by Nakul in happiness and sorrow.")

They nodded, then approached Krishna, who smiled mischievously. "Rajkumar Nakul, mujhe bada khushi hui jis prakar aapne adar aur prem dikhane ke liye Nisha ke pair chhuye. Parantu ab aapko har din Nisha ko devi maan kar aradhna karni hogi." ("Prince Nakul, I'm very pleased with how you showed respect and love by touching Nisha's feet. But now you must worship her as a goddess every day.")

Nakul smiled and replied playfully, "Aap nishchint rahiye, Dwarkadheesh. Ab Nisha sirf meri patni nahi, balki mere ghar ki devi Lakshmi hain. Ab toh main har subah uthkar pehle Nisha ke samne haath jodunga." ("Rest assured, O Lord of Dwarka. Nisha is not just my wife now, but the goddess Lakshmi of my household. From now on, I will fold my hands before her every morning.")

Krishna chuckled and added, "Dekho, Nakul. Meri sakhi ko tanik bhi dukh hua toh meri Narayani Sena ko toh jaante hi hoge tum." ("Remember, Nakul. If my dear friend suffers even a bit, you know what my Narayani Sena is capable of.")

Nakul's eyes widened comically at the veiled warning before breaking into laughter. "Aap nishchint rahiye, Vasudev." ("Rest assured, Vasudev.")

Nisha laughed softly at their banter, and the couple proceeded to Mata Kunti for her blessings. She embraced them both, kissing their foreheads lovingly, and whispered her blessings for their long and happy life.

Nakul and Nisha, now husband and wife, walked together toward their chamber, the start of a new journey awaiting them.

As they entered the chamber, Draupadi, Shikhandi, and other maids were already there. Nisha and Nakul entered the chamber behind them, with the Pandavas, Kunti, and Krishna Balram following. Nisha saw a medium-sized container full of milk, and Draupadi was sitting in front of it with a smile. Kunti made both of them sit in front of it, and everyone settled in the room. Draupadi, with a smile, began speaking:

"Sabse pehle mere devar aur devrani ko apne vivah ke liye badhai aur dher sara ashirwad. Ab vivah hone ke paschat ek badi mahatvapurn kariya yeh hai ki hame iss krida se ye pata lagana hai ki vivahik jeevan mein kiski baat chalegi." ("First, congratulations and many blessings to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law on their marriage. Now, after the wedding, an important task is to find out whose word will carry weight in the married life.")

Bheem, placing a hand on Sahadev's shoulder, said, "Wese to iss premi se mujhe koi umeed nahi hai par phir bhi naak to nahi katwaoge na nakul?" ("Well, I don't expect much from this lover, but still, you won't embarrass us, will you, Nakul?")

Everyone laughed, and Nakul was about to say something, but Krishna intervened, saying, "Nakul, yaad to hai na kya kaha tha main ne?" ("Nakul, do you remember what I said?")

Nakul looked at Krishna and gulped. Nisha laughed a little and said, "Majhle bhaiya ka to pata chalta hai, par Keshav, app bhi?" ("We can figure out about middle brother teasing, but Keshav, even you?")

Nakul then looked at Kunti and said, "Dekhiye na Matashree, ye sab kis prakar se mujhe dharmsankat mein daal rahe hain." ("See, Mother, how they are putting me in a moral dilemma.")

Kunti smiled, caressing his hair, and said, "Ab tum sab bas karo, aaj toh iske shaadi hai. Ab Nisha patni hai iski, iske saath aise mazak toh mat karo." ("Now, everyone, stop. Today is his wedding. Nisha is now his wife; don't tease him like this.")

Arjun smiled and said, "Matashree, kshama kijiyega, parantu hum toh hamare Nakul ko iske bachche hone ke baad bhi chidhayenge, kyun? Bharata shree." ("Mother, forgive us, but we will still tease Nakul even after he has children, won't we, Bharata?")

But Bheem looked a little sad and then said, "Par baat toh yeh bhi sahi hai, ab yadi mujhe raatri mein bhukh lage toh mere saath bhojan lane kaun jayega?" ("But this is also true; now, if I get hungry at night, who will go to bring me food?")

And Nakul said, "Sahadev hai na!" ("Sahadev will do it, right!")

Everyone laughed, and Sahadev, now fully alert upon hearing about his new task, looked at Bheem. Before Bheem could say anything, Sahadev swiftly went to Kunti, sat beside her, and said,In a dramatic way "Matashree, mujhe majhle bhaiya kaam de, isse pehle mera bhi vivah karwa dijiye!" ("Mother, give me the task of the middle brother before you get my marriage done!")

Everyone laughed. Draupadi then began explaining the rules of the game:

"To Nakul aur Nisha, meri baatein dhyan se suno. Yeh ek doodh se bhara katori hai, isme ab main Nakul ka ek anguthi ya mudrika dalungi, aur tum dono mein se jo pehle use khojke bahar nikalega, wahi vijeta hoga. Iss prakar yeh teen baar hoga, aur jo ant mein doosre se zyada jitega, uska nirnay hi ghar mein chalega." ("Now, Nakul and Nisha, listen to me carefully. This is a bowl filled with milk. I will put one of Nakul's rings or seals in it, and the first one to find it and bring it out will be the winner. This will happen three times, and at the end, the one who wins more will decide who rules the house.")

Nisha and Nakul nodded and looked at the bowl with determination, while behind them, everyone cheered.

As the game started, Nisha dived her hand into the big pot, but her bangles made a sound. Nakul, being a little more cautious, slowly dipped his hand in. As both their hands were inside, Nisha was focused on searching for the ring. Nakul, with a slight smile, quietly slid his hand towards hers. Nisha's eyes widened as she looked around to see if anyone had noticed, then her gaze shifted to Nakul. He was sitting beside her with a slight smile, acting as though he hadn't done anything, which made her heart flutter.

As Nisha looked at him, she felt something round on her fingers. She glanced down at the bowl, realizing it was Nakul who had given her the ring. He bent slightly and said, "Yelo Nisha, ab iss prakar se hi sahi, mere jeevan ke har nirnay, har ghadi, har paristhiti mein tumhara adhikar ho gaya." ("Here, Nisha, in this way, you now have the right in every decision, every moment, every situation of my life.")

A smile crept onto Nisha's face as she pulled her hand out to show the ring to everyone. Everyone smiled in return. She won the next two rounds as well. Draupadi said, "Tumhari jeet ne humein bata diya hai, Nisha ki Nakul tumhare liye kitna pagal hai." ("Your victory has shown us that Nisha, Nakul is crazy for you.")

Bheem added, "Yeh hamare liye koi baat nayi hai, Panchali, ye toh humein pehle se pata tha." ("This isn't new to us, Panchali, we already knew this.")

After the game, Draupadi, Arjun, and Bheem quietly left, closing the door behind them, all wearing teasing smiles. Nisha smiled knowingly, as if she knew what was coming, and Nakul chuckled. As the door closed, Nakul didn't even wait a second and hugged Nisha from behind. Nisha felt the urge to rest her head a little but then tried to free herself, facing Nakul, who looked at her confused, as if asking why she broke the hug.

Nisha, standing with her back to the door, signaled Nakul with her eyes towards it, as if saying that they were still behind the door, not yet returned to their rooms. Nakul, clueless, just looked at her. She tapped her forehead in frustration and said "Buddhu", signaling for him to come with her who was smiling thinking she gave him a nickname. Now, both were standing in front of the door, and Nisha gestured for him to not block the keyhole and open the door. Nakul opened it, and suddenly, Arjun stumbled inside the room. Draupadi and the other ladies ran in, laughing, probably at Arjun's situation.

Nisha narrowed her eyes, and Nakul crossed his arms, both looking at Arjun, who gave them an embarrassed smile. Nisha asked, "Aapko kuch chaiye tha, bhartashree?" ("Did you need something, Brother?")

Arjun hesitantly replied, "Main... woh haan, main Nakul se baat karne aaya tha." ("I... uh, yes, I came to talk to Nakul.")

With that, Arjun took Nakul to a corner and said, "Dekh, Nakul, bohot chalak ladki hai yeh. Darna mat, himmat rakhna, theek hai?" ("Look, Nakul, she's a very clever girl. Don't be afraid, be brave, okay?")

Smiling at Nisha, he left the room. Nisha locked the door and turned to Nakul, who was looking at her. Both of them burst into laughter at the scene that had just unfolded.

As the evening passed, the playful teasing and laughter marked the end of a memorable day. But for Nisha and Nakul, it was only the beginning of a new chapter in their lives-one filled with challenges, laughter, love, and the joy of discovering their path together. ______
