"Bookkeeping"

I'm in no fucking mood today. I was held up at the office all day and almost all night. I didn't get to see Nova at all. When I got to her apartment she was already asleep. I didn't want to wake her so I went to sleep on the couch.

We've got something not lining up with the accounting bullshit and invoices aren't matching up. Something is going on and I'll figure out what it is. I hope someone isn't stealing from me. No one steals from me and my club and gets away with it.

I'm up making coffee when Nova walks out of her bedroom. Rubbing her sleepy eyes. She walks over to me and I open my arms for her. "What time did you get in last night? I was so tired after everything I don't think I woke up at all."

"It was around 3 am. I didn't want to wake you up so I went to the couch. I didn't sleep much, maybe an hour." I take her all in and hug her tightly. I never want to let go of her. If she could just be attached to my hip I'd be alright with that.

"Let me finish up this coffee and I'll make us something to eat. What do you feel like eating today?" Nova tries to pull away and my hold tightens. I snuggle in as close as I can and I shake my head.

"I just need to hold you for a little bit. I didn't get to hold you last night or early this morning. I just need you for a minute, is that okay." I'm laying my heart out for her and I hope she can tell how I really feel for her. I've really fallen for this girl. Hard.

"Okay Madz, let's go sit on the couch so at least we are comfortable." Not want to, I pull away from her still holding her hand and we walk to the couch. I sit down and she straddles me. Shit this is not what we came here to do. I try to calm myself down and let her get comfortable.

"Baby, I'm trying really hard to be a gentleman. How you're sitting on me right now though." She makes a squeak and tries to pull away but I take a firm hold on her. "No, stay. I can handle it."

Nova snuggles in and lays her head on my chest. I stroke my hands through her hand and kiss the top of her head. "I missed you last night Madz. It felt so empty without you in our bed."

Well fuck if that doesn't just break my god damn heart. "I missed you too baby. I'm sorry I wasn't there. I'll do my best next time. We're having problems with the paperwork." Nova moves her head to look me into my eyes.

"Is there anything I can do? I was a bookkeeper for a while at a law firm. That was one of the worst jobs I had but I was good at it. I was the only woman there and all the men were slimy." Her body shivers and not in a good way.

"What made them slimy? Did they do something to you?" Nova leans her head up to look me into my eyes and holds my face in her hands.

"They didn't do anything, they just said some things that made me uncomfortable. It wasn't anything I couldn't handle though." She kisses my lips and like always it sets off fireworks in my entire body.

"You know, if you tell me where this office is, I can pay them a little visit? I'd do anything for you." I mean it. Even her past, I'll take care of everything from now on. She won't be alone ever again.

"Madz don't be silly it was just a couple of men. They just said nasty things about what I would be wearing and sometimes they would comment on my weight. It's all in the past" That's what she thinks. I'll figure out where these 'men' are and take care of it.

"Okay darin'. Whatever you say. How about we both go make breakfast. I'm hungry." Nova lifts off my lap and I stand up. We head to the kitchen hand in hand and she goes to the fridge.

"I can make us an omelet with some veggies? Or if you don't want that I can make something else." I don't really like eggs but I won't tell her that. She looks exhausted.

"That sounds good to me. I'll go ahead and get our cups of coffee ready while you do that." I head over to where she keeps her mugs and pull out two. Today's mugs are pretty simple.

One mug has a unicorn on it and is farting a rainbow. I shake my head and look at the other. It has a cactus on it and says 'I'm prickly.' I walk over to the coffee maker and fill both the mugs with coffee. I then fix Nova's exactly how she likes and hand it over.

"Thank you Madz. Mhmmm, this tastes so good. You've mastered the way I like my coffee. Congrats." Nova gets to work on the omelet and I start chopping up the veggies.

" Here are the mushrooms and onions." I toss them in the bowl and she starts mixing everything together. "Do you have any plans today? Oh yeah, were you going to enter the baking competition? It's tomorrow."

"Yes, I already had Axel enter for me yesterday. It was so last minute but the lady on the phone seemed excited for the newbie in town to show off their skills."

I smile to myself. The person who she talked to was probably Georgia, my mother. I wont tell her this because it might scare her off but she's the main judge for the event. I wont tell my mom either because I want it to be all fair for the others as well.

"That's great darlin'. Do you have any idea on what you will make?" She puts the eggs in the frying pan and looks over her shoulder.

"Yeah, I've got an idea of what I'm going to make and I've got all the stuff I need to make it. I think I'll make my super chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting." She gets back to making the eggs and I go to pull out the plates.

"Well, whatever you make. Save me a slice. I love everything that you've made so far and I'll bet I'll continue to love everything else you make." I hand over the plates and Nova plates them. I carry over the coffee and we sit at her kitchen table.

We eat in silence and just enjoy being around each other. Even with no words for our mouths we were perfect together. With Nova everything just fit's together like a puzzle. She's the piece and I'm the glue you put on after that holds it together.

She's the sword and I'll always be her shield. Protecting her from everything that stands in our way. We'll always be together no matter what. We finish up without food. That wasn't that bad for me not liking eggs.

"That was delicious Nova. Thank you for that." I try to kiss her but she pulls away. I look at her and wonder what's wrong. "Are you okay?"

"I just ate and I haven't brushed my teeth yet. So, that's gross." I laugh at her and snag her by the waist. Like I give a shit if she brushes her teeth or not. She's crazy to think that.

"Do you really think I care that you've not brushed your teeth yet? Neither have I and I still want to kiss you Nova." Nova leans her forehead on mine and our lips meet.

Every time this woman kisses me it feels like I'm being brought back to life. I feel like every dream I've had is being answered. We pull away from each other reluctantly but I place kisses all over her face.

"Okay, okay Madz. We've gotta get ready. You've got work and I need to plan for the day. I need to get everything for the cake together." I don't want to leave her but she's right and I know I've got to go.

With sadness taking over my body. I let go of her and let her go take a shower for the day. I clean up the mess we made and wait for her to come out of her room. As I'm waiting I get a text from my mother.

"I can't wait to see you tomorrow Madz. It's been way too long." I just saw her the other day when I took Eleanor back to her house. I send a quick thumbs up back to her. I hear the door open and what I see takes my breath away.

Nova is in a green spaghetti strapped dress. It's got vines running throughout the cloth. She's paired it with a yellow belt and a cream colored cardigan. "Your beauty is incomparable." I glide over to her and give her the tightest hug I can without hurting her.

"Madz." She giggles and tries to pull away from me but I tighten my hold. "Honey, we've got to go and start our days. You will see me tonight and If you need help with that paperwork let me know okay?"

We head towards the door and down the steps. "Stay safe today. Remember not to go outside alone. You take Axel with you anytime you leave, got it?"

"I know Madz. I know. I promise I wont leave without him. Now get to work and have a good day." She walks me to the door and I give Axel a nod. He knows what I mean and knows what will happen if anything were to happen to her.

I give Nova a kiss on her forehead and with that I head on over to my bike. I hate leaving her but my business and club need me as well.
