Snow’s Point of View:

I was still processing the idea of starting college when Dad called me into his study this morning and handed me a list of things to get. It felt surreal; I’d grown up in a quiet world with Grandma, far from the typical hustle of campus life, and now I was about to dive into it.

Dad had arranged for Zino, Karsten, and Dimitrios to take me shopping. He’d made it clear this was more than just a school prep trip—he wanted them close to me, especially after Kingston Grey’s surprise visit.

So now, I was tucked into the backseat of Dimitrios’ car, the windows down as the city’s rhythm pulsed around us. The music was loud, filling the car with a beat that made my heart race.

“Jambazz” by Gabzy was playing, and I couldn’t help but mumble the lyrics, nodding my head in time to the beat.

Dimitrios noticed, glancing at me in the rearview mirror with a grin. “What’s got you so excited, Snow?”

I shrugged, still mumbling along. “Just... you know, getting ready for college and all.”

He chuckled, nudging Zino in the passenger seat. “She’s getting in the groove. Think she’s ready for this?”

Zino laughed, turning to look at me with a smirk.

“Well, college is pretty much like high school, except the rules are easier to break and you have more freedom. But don’t worry—we’ll be there, and Karsten’s crew too, so no one’s going to mess with you.”

I nodded, my fingers tapping against the door. The thought of Zino and Karsten being nearby brought me some comfort, even if it meant sharing my space with their rowdy group of friends.

“Thanks,” I said softly, looking out the window, trying to imagine what college would be like.

Just then, “Trouble” by Sarz and WurlD started to play, and the opening beat made me squeal. This was one of my favorites.

“Girl, you’re the one for me!” I sang out loud, throwing my hands up in the air with a laugh.

The boys shook their heads, exchanging amused glances as I belted out the lyrics, but I caught them smiling along with me.

“Alright, alright, maybe you’re ready for college after all,” Zino teased, laughing as he turned up the volume. We were all lost in the music, the energy carrying us through the busy streets, and for a moment, I forgot about all the stress. I was just a girl on a fun day out with her brothers.

The car finally slowed to a stop outside a massive mall, and Dimitrios parked, turning off the music.

“Shopping time!” Zino called out, throwing open his door with a grin. He stretched, and I climbed out after him, already feeling a bit of excitement for the adventure ahead. Dimitrios and Karsten led the way, Zino and I trailing behind.

Inside, the mall was bustling, and I was immediately struck by the rows of stores, racks of clothes, and endless options. I’d never done a big shopping spree like this, and it was a little overwhelming.

Zino nudged me as we walked toward the school supplies section. “So, what kind of vibe are you going for? Classic college girl? Dark and mysterious?”

I laughed, shrugging. “I have no idea. I guess... something simple. Maybe a little mysterious?”

He raised an eyebrow, grinning. “Alright, we’ll find the right look. It’s your first day, so you have to make a statement.”

Karsten, who had been checking out a few backpacks, came over, holding up a sleek black one with silver zippers. “How about this? Roomy and functional. Plus, it’ll go with that mysterious vibe you’re going for.”

I smiled, running my fingers over the leather. “Perfect. Thanks, Karsten.”

We moved on, grabbing notebooks, pens, and all the essentials, along with a few unnecessary but fun items that Zino insisted I’d need for “college survival.” Each time he tossed something into the basket—a pack of highlighters, a quirky planner, a colorful water bottle—I couldn’t help but laugh, feeling more and more excited for the life ahead.

Once we reached the clothing section, I spotted a display of jackets and sweaters, and my eyes landed on a cozy, oversized gray sweater with a soft texture. I grabbed it, pulling it close. It reminded me of home, of the quiet warmth I’d grown up with.

Dimitrios came over, glancing at the sweater. “Looks like you found a favorite. Try it on if you want.”

I pulled it on, letting the soft material wrap around me. “What do you think?” I asked, twirling for them.

Zino gave me a thumbs up, and Karsten nodded approvingly. “Perfect for those cold study nights,” Karsten teased, winking.

I laughed, feeling grateful to be here with them. This wasn’t just a shopping trip—it was a glimpse into the new life I was about to step into, surrounded by my family. Whatever challenges lay ahead, I felt a surge of confidence, knowing I wouldn’t be facing them alone.

By the time we headed to the checkout line, our cart was overflowing, and Zino was grinning with pride. “Now you’re ready for college, Snow. Just don’t let the books and studying kill your social life.”

I rolled my eyes, elbowing him. “I think I’ll be just fine. Besides, with you guys around, I’m pretty sure I’ll have a hard time staying out of trouble.”

“Good point,” Dimitrios said with a chuckle, patting me on the shoulder as we paid and loaded our bags.

As we piled back into the car, I felt a wave of contentment settle over me. For the first time in a long time, I felt grounded, like I was exactly where I was supposed to be. College was going to be a whole new world, but with my brothers by my side, I knew I could face whatever came my way.
