Snow's point of View:
"Please snow" Nia begged for the 11th time but I didn't agree.
"I'm not a party person Nia" I said softly hoping she would understand but then she rolled her eyes before letting out a sigh.
"Alright" she said then grabbed her things and entered the bathroom.
Shaking my head, I walked towards the door, my bag I'm my hand.
"Big house" I mumbled, I wonder what her parents do for a living with this amount of money.
"Snow?" I heard someone say.
Turing my head to the voice, I'm shocked to see Kingston standing with a towel around his waist.
His hair was wet, chest dripping water
"What are doing here?" We both asked together.
"This is my house sweetie" Kingston says with a smirk
The air seemed to freeze around me as I stared at Kingston, my mind struggling to process what he’d just said.
“This... this is your house?” I stammered, my grip tightening on the strap of my bag.
Kingston leaned casually against the doorway, his smirk widening. “Surprised, little bunny?”
“Very,” I mumbled, trying to keep my eyes from wandering.
The towel wrapped around his waist did little to hide his toned frame, and the droplets of water sliding down his chest weren’t helping my already scattered thoughts.
“Didn’t Nia tell you?” he asked, tilting his head slightly.
“No,” I said quickly, shaking my head. “She didn’t mention anything about... this.”
Kingston chuckled softly, running a hand through his wet hair. “Well, now you know.”
“Snow!” Nia’s voice called from the bathroom, the sound of running water muffling her words. “Did you leave already?”
I swallowed hard, forcing myself to focus. “No, I’m still here!” I called back, my voice higher than usual.
Kingston raised an eyebrow, his smirk turning into something softer but no less mischievous. “Why do you look so nervous?”
“I’m not nervous,” I said quickly, stepping back toward the hallway. “Just... confused.”
“Confused about what?”
“About how you and Nia are connected,” I said, crossing my arms in an attempt to regain some semblance of control over the situation.
Kingston’s smirk faded slightly, replaced by a more thoughtful expression. “She’s my sister,” he said simply.
My mouth fell open. “Your sister?”
“Yep,” he said, popping the “p” for emphasis. “She didn’t tell you that either?”
“No,” I admitted, my thoughts spinning. Nia is Kingston’s cousin? How had that never come up before?
Kingston shrugged, clearly amused by my reaction. “Well, now you’re in the loop.”
I shook my head, still trying to process everything. “This is... a lot.”
“Take your time, bunny,” Kingston said, stepping closer. “I’ll be here if you have more questions.”
The proximity made my heart race, and I quickly stepped back, my face heating up. “I—I should go. Nia’s waiting for me.”
Kingston chuckled, his blue eyes twinkling with amusement. “Don’t let me keep you. But, Snow...”
I paused, glancing back at him.
“You look cute when you’re flustered,” he said with a wink before turning and walking back toward what I assumed was his room.
I let out a shaky breath, my mind racing as I hurried back toward the bathroom door.
Nia stepped out just as I reached it, her hair wrapped in a towel and her face glowing from the steam.
“Ready to go?” she asked cheerfully, completely oblivious to the chaos swirling in my mind.
“Nia,” I said slowly, my voice barely steady. “Why didn’t you tell me Kingston was your cousin?”
She froze, her eyes widening. “Oh. You saw him?”
“Uh, yeah,” I said, gesturing toward the hallway. “He’s here. In a towel.”
Nia groaned, covering her face with her hands. “I forgot he was home. Sorry about that. I should’ve warned you.”
I crossed my arms, giving her a pointed look. “You think?”
She peeked at me through her fingers, a sheepish grin spreading across her face. “So... what did he say?”
I sighed, shaking my head. “Nothing important. Just that this is his house and that you’re his cousin.”
“Yep,” Nia said, dropping her hands and shrugging. “Small world, huh?”
“That’s one way to put it,” I muttered.
“Come on,” Nia said, grabbing her bag.
“Let’s go. Forget about Kingston. He’s not as interesting as he thinks he is.”
I wasn’t so sure about that.
