He spotted Viper and nodded to him. Viper came over to us. Mav grabbed my hand, lifted it to his lips and kissed the back of it. He smiled at me, I smiled back. He held my hand, "I have something for you." He told me. "What is it, Mav?" I asked. He held his hand out to Viper, he pulled a small box out of his pocket and handed it to Maverick. Everyone was watching. Maverick got down on one knee. "Mav, what're you doing?" I whispered, I already had tears in my eyes. "Baby, I love you. I don't know what I'd do without you. You were there for me through everything that happened. I don't want to spend another day without telling you how much you mean to me. You're my best friend and I'm so thankful for you. I can't tell how much I love you. You're everything to me. And I can't ever imagine my life without you. I wanna spend forever with you by my side. Will you marry me?" I saw the tears in his eyes, I was already crying softly. "Yes, Mav! Yes!" I said. He put the ring on my finger, got up and pulled me close. I wrapped my arms around his neck, "I love you so much, baby." I said through tears. He pulled my face from the crook of his neck, and wiped my tears, "I love you so much, too, sweetheart." He smiled. I kissed him with everything I had, he kissed me even harder. We heard cheers all around us. We pulled away and laughed. I wrapped my arm around his waist, and leaned my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his around my shoulder and kissed my head. Everyone congratulated us. Hugs were given.

We went to the locker room. "Have I mentioned how proud I am of you, Mav?" I said, smiling. "Maybe a time or two, but I could hear it again." He winked and laughed. "Yeah, I'm sure you could." I laughed. "Well, I'm proud of you, baby." I kissed his cheek. "I'm proud of you, too, baby." He kissed my cheek. Stinger came in. "Maverick." He said. "Sir." Mav said. "How's it feel to be on the front page of every newspaper in English-speaking world, even though the other side denies the incident? Congratulations." Stinger told him. "Thank you, sir." Mav said. "They gave you your choice of duty, son. Where do you think you want to go?" He asked. "I thought of being an instructor, sir." Maverick told him. "Top Gun?" He asked. Mav chuckled, "Yes, sir." "And how about you, Midnight?" He asked me. "I actually have been thinking about the same thing." I said. "You two as instructors? Oh, no." He laughed. "Congratulations by the way on your engagement." He said. "Thank you, sir." Mav and I both said. He walked out. "Are we really gonna be instructors?" Mav laughed. "I mean, why not, you know?" I shrugged and chuckled. He hooked his finger under my chin and kissed me. "Let's grab a drink." He said. I nodded and smiled. He took my hand and we headed to grab a drink. We arrived, went inside, and sat at the bar. We ordered our drinks. I was looking at my ring, I smiled and looked at my fiance, "So, this is what you and Viper were talking about at graduation?" I asked him. "Yes ma'am." He picked up my hand with the ring on it, "I couldn't let another day go by without telling you how I truly feel about you. I meant what I said. I want forever with you, baby." He cupped my cheek. "Forever's a long time, baby." I winked and chuckled. He chuckled softly, "Yeah, and I get to spend it with the love of my life." A tear fell down my face, he was quick to wipe it. I reached up and cupped his cheek, "You're the love of my life and I can't wait to spend forever with you." I kissed him. He smiled and kissed me back.

A couple months had passed, it was our wedding day. I had asked Carole to be my Maid of Honor and she happily accepted. Mav and Ice had become good friends, so he was now Mav's Best Man. The day before the wedding, Mav and I went to Viper's, I wanted to ask him something. We arrived at their house, Mav knocked, Viper answered, "I didn't expect to see you two until tomorrow." He said. "She wanted to ask you something." Mav smiled and wrapped his arm around me. "And what's that?" He asked me. "I was wondering... If you would walk me down the aisle?" I asked with tears in my eyes. He hugged me, "I'd love nothing more. It would be my honor." "Thank you so much." I hugged him back. "I'm proud of you two." He said. "Thank you. You helped us out a lot." Mav said. "You're welcome. You two need anything at any time, you can come to me." He told us. We nodded and smiled. Before we got on his bike, Mav wrapped his arm around my shoulder, pulled me close, and kissed my head. "I can't wait to marry you tomorrow, sweetheart." He looked at me and smiled. I wrapped my arms around his waist. "I can't wait, either, baby." I leaned up and kissed him. He kissed me back. "I love you." He told me. "I love you, too." I said.

Back in my room, Carole was helping me get ready. She helped with my dress, "Oh, you look absolutely gorgeous. Mav's gonna lose it." She said. I giggled, "Carole, I can't wait. I'm so happy." I said. She grabbed me and hugged me tight. I hugged her back tighter. "Thank you for being here and helping me. I love you." I said. "I love you, too. Now, come on let's get you married!" She said. Meanwhile, in Mav's room, "Well, Mitchell, you're getting married, how about that!" Ice chuckled. Laughter filled the room. "I never thought this would happen, but it is, and I couldn't be happier." Mav smiled. "We're happy for you two, Mav." Merlin said. The others said the same thing to him. "Thank you, guys." He said. Ice patted his shoulder. There was a knock at my door, she opened it, it was Viper, "Is she ready?" He asked. "I'm ready!" I said. "You look beautiful." He held his arm out to me, I put my arm through his. "Thank you for doing this, Viper." I told him. "It's my pleasure." He smiled. "Now, come on, we have a wedding to get to." I chuckled. Mav and I were getting married on the beach. Viper and I started walking. I looked up and saw my future husband standing there. The wedding march started, we walked down the aisle. Mav looked at me, I smiled at him. He smiled. We made it to the end, Mav held his hand out to me, I put my hand in his and stood in front of him. We both had tears in our eyes. "You look absolutely beautiful." He said quietly. "You look very handsome." I said. The man started and he got to the vows part. Mav went first.

He took my hands in his. "Where do I even start? You're my best friend and the love of my life. I can't imagine doing this life with anyone, but you. I promise to always be there for you, to help you, in sickness and in health, and cherish you forever. You mean so much to me. There's nothing I wouldn't do for you. I will love you forever and that's a promise I'm keeping to you for the rest of my life. You're my everything." A tear fell down his face, I reached up and wiped it, he chuckled softly. "You're the love of my life. I couldn't do this life with anybody else, but you. I promise to be there for you and help you in any way that I can, in sickness and in health and I will cherish you forever. You mean the world to me. I would do anything for you. I will forever keep my promises to you. I get to love my best friend for the rest of my life." I sniffled and had tears falling down my face. He was quick to wipe them. I smiled. "The rings, please." The man said. We grabbed the rings and put them on each other's fingers. "You may now kiss the bride." He said. Mav smiled, grabbed my face, and kissed me while dipping me. Everyone cheered. "May I now pronounce Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell." The man said. Mav grabbed my hand and we put our hands up in victory. We walked down to the ocean. He reached up and tucked my hair behind my ear, "Well, you're now my wife, Mrs. Mitchell." He smiled widely. "And you're my husband." I laughed and wrapped my arms around him. "I love you, baby." I said as I rested my forehead to his. "I love you, too, baby." He kissed me, I kissed him back.

"Now, I don't know if you want to, but I got permission from Viper and Stinger." He started. "Wait, you mean you actually asked permission for something?" I asked, laughing. "Yes, I did. Shut up." He kissed my lips and laughed. "Okay, I'm sorry, baby. What exactly did you get permission for?" I smiled as I slid my fingers through his hair. "Would you, I don't know, maybe wanna take a fly in the F-14, like a little wedding flight?" He asked. "I would love nothing more, Mav. That sounds amazing!" I said. "Okay, come on!" He took my hand. We took his bike back to Top Gun after we changed, he had his white t-shirt and jeans on, I had on a white t-shirt, pair of shorts, and my husband's jacket. Everyone was looking at us as we climbed up to the F-14. I reached up and touched his shoulder, "This is gonna be so much fun!" I giggled. "Oh, you have no idea, baby!" He said. He closed the canopy, we saluted everyone. We took off. He flew us for a while, "You ready, sweetheart?" He asked. "For what exactly?" I laughed. He inverted us, we broke with laughter, he put us back up right. He landed us and opened the canopy. "That was amazing, baby, thank you for that." I said. He was climbing down, I climbed down after him, but before my feet hit the ground, he grabbed my hips and put me down. His hands were still on my hips, he pulled me closer to him, I wrapped my arms around his neck. "You know, having you back there with me, felt right." He said. "Did it now? I have to say I did actually love having you as my pilot." I said. "You did?" He asked. "Yes. I know we're both pilots, but I don't know, there's something about my husband being my pilot and me being his RIO." I winked. "Like you said, it felt right." I kissed him.

"My RIO, huh? There's nothing I would love more than my wife always being my RIO." He smiled. "Hey, what about me?" Merlin laughed. I laughed. "I mean, you're awesome, man. But my wife." Mav laughed. "I'm kidding, you guys actually did look pretty good up there together." Merlin told him. "I even got a picture!" Carole said. She handed it to me. "Aw, Carole! Thank you." I hugged her. "Thank you everyone for making this the best day ever!" I told them. Mav agreed. "Ready to get out here, baby?" I asked. He nodded and smiled. "As much as we love you all, I'm taking my wife home." He grabbed my hand and we got on his bike. We went home, he now had a hangar. He helped me off the bike, he got off, and picked me up bridal style. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed his cheek. He took me over the threshold. "This hangar is beautiful." I said. "You're beautiful, baby." He set me down and kissed me passionately. I kissed back, took his hand and led him to our bedroom. He pushed me lightly on the mattress and hovered over me. "I love you so much." He said. "I love you so much, too." I grabbed his shirt and pulled him down, I kissed him with everything in me. I pulled at his shirt, he smiled and took it off, leaned back down and kissed me. He turned me over so I was on top of him, he ran his fingers through my hair and pulled me down and kissed me. He kissed down my neck. I smiled and ran my fingers through his hair. We had our night as husband and wife.

Hours passed, we were laying beside each other. I had my head on his chest. "I'm so happy you're my husband, Pete Mitchell." I smiled up at him. He laughed, "I'm so happy you're my wife, sweetheart. I love you." He kissed my lips. "I love you, too." I smiled, cupped his cheek and kissed his lips. He wrapped his arm around me and held me tight. I held him tighter. I finally get to be married to the love of my life. He's my forever.
