Ram
I was looking at the moon resting on a rock. It's been a week till she disappeared from my sight. My baby must have been crying and would have forgotten she had to take care of herself.
Thinking all this, I didn't know when my eyes started tearing up.
My father-in-law who got to know what happened joined me in searching her after a day or so.
Krishna: What are you doing instead of sleeping, Ram? (He asked sitting beside me on the rock keeping his hand on my shoulder.)
I said nothing and kept looking at the stars.
Ram: You exactly knew where is Anu, right father-in-law? ( I asked getting up expecting a positive answer.)
But he shook his head negatively making me feel my chest tighten again.
Ram : Kyun nahi jaanthe aap. Aap tho bhagwan haina! ( I know my words make no sense but still I just want to ask.)
( Why don't you know? You are a god, right!)
Krishna : Ram, Hum samjh sakthe hain tumhari dard. Kinthu Hum tumhari sahayatha nahi kar sakthe hain is vishay main. Kyunki vidhi ka vidhan ke aage swayam bhagwan bhi natmastak hain. Hum kuch tab kar sakthe hain jab hum apni eternal roop mein ho kintu ab jab main is mrityulok mein janm liya, vo sambhav nahi. Is lok karm se hi Chaltha hain. Aur hum ise badal nahi sakthe. Tumhe swayam janna hoga Anu kaha hain.
( Ram, I can understand your pain. But I cannot help you with this. Because Even God is nothing against fate. I would have done something If I was in my eternal form. But now that I took birth into this world, So it's not possible. This world is running due to Karma. And I cannot alter this. You have to find yourselves where is Anu right now.)
I turned my back and went towards the camp without saying anything. What would I probably reply to him now? I have read the geetha he had taught and understood it fine. It's just I was desperate to look at her, I need her like air to survive. Dad probably would have known what happened till now.
Just when I was about to go grab something to eat for energy, I heard someone's footsteps far away from the camps. As it was night time his steps were audible due to the twigs scattered around.
I moved in that direction only to see someone wholly covered with a black cloth going somewhere holding a lamp in his/her hands sneakily. I don't know if that person was a he/she. I will assume that person is he.
I didn't know who he was and what he was up to. But still,l I chose to follow him. It's just a gut feeling that I should do this at this point of time.
I was using the technique Pitamah taught me of how to walk without letting others feel our presence. I was extremely shocked when I saw him entering a portal-like thing that glowed in red when he entered inside it, and when he completely went inside, only trees were visible.
I went in the same direction and forwarded my hand and to my surprise, it glowed again and some parts of my fingers disappeared inside the portal.
I went inside without thinking anything only to see a heart-wrenching scene. Anu was tied with chains and was hanging in the air. Her two hands were tied in a painful way and she's hanging like how we hang a fruit in front of our home. Her face full of bruises just made my anger worsen.
I growled louder and smashed whoever came in front of me to the pulp. When everyone around the place were down, I went towards her and released her from the cuffs making her fall right in my arms.
She's still unconscious. I swear whoever is behind this, I will kill them in the cruelest ways. I was about to cross that portal when that man covered in a black cloth appeared in front of me.
Ram: Whoever you are, get away from my way If you don't want to die this instant. ( I tried to say it as gently as possible as he's the reason through which I found my Anu, but it just came out quite scary.)
That person removed the cloth he was covering himself with making me shocked as the person turned out to be Nisha.
I swear, I just want to choke her to death with my hands, but I will do it after keeping my girl in a safe place. I ignored her like air and started walking towards the portal but she still chose the other way despite asking for mercy.
Nisha: Hey you all what are you looking at, stop him. If he crossed that portal then I will make sure your life becomes hell. ( she shouted and an army of weird-looking creatures appeared in front of me.)
They are probably the rakshasas that are described in Ramayana that I read. I kept Anu between the trees and covered her with leaves so that no harm comes her way.
I went towards them to show with whom they messed with.
Nisha: This time luck is on my side Ram. You chose that cowherd's daughter instead of me, right? Now suffer. You will die, sorry you will die very pathetically that even vultures will feel disgusted to go near your dead body. ( she said and went away.)
I ignored her words and grabbed the throat of some rakshas and smashed him to the ground. I was killing everyone who came near me. I can only see blood and scattered body parts of those demonic creatures around the place.
I was fighting with a larger demon when someone from the back pierced me with something sharp making me turn towards him. I held him by the waistband, lifting him in the air, and threw him on the ground making his head hit hard on a stone. I stumbled backward due to the impact.
I looked at the remaining ones with my burning red eyes. They were a bit teary due to that wound given by rakshas and it was paining a lot. But not as much as my heart.
I went towards them again when they started to step backward with fear visible in their eyes.
My knees felt weak and all I want right now is to go see how's she. I ignored my weakness and made my way towards the tree while limping to where I hid her.
I kneeled and started removing the leaves but they kept on coming. I screamed in frustration as I realized they got her again.
Nisha: Tired already Ram. Abhi tho tumhe bahut kuch dekhna padega. (She said making me turn towards her.)
( Tired already Ram. You have to see even worse boy.)
My breath hitched when I saw Anu lying under her feet. She moved her foot and kept it on her belly making me grit my teeth.
Nisha: Aur cheeko Ram. Vahi, Vahi peeda maine bhi seha hain jab tum is Anu ko baar baar mere upar chuntha Raha. ( she shouted like a witch that she is.)
( Shout louder Ram. That, That same pain I endured when you again and again chose her over me.)
Ram: Leave her, this instant you devil. ( I growled running towards her.)
I was held back by those huge-looking demons again making me glare at her. I was not able to free myself as I was truly very injured. Never in my life have I felt this helpless.
Ram: God, please help her. ( I muttered a prayer looking at the sky.)
Nisha : Bheek mang rahi ho apni biwi ko bachane keliye us chaliya Vishnu se. Vo kabhi nahi karega tumhari sahayata. Ab samasya vo Chakradhar nahi. ( she said smirking.)
( Are you begging that Cheater Vishnu to save your wife? He's never going to help you in this. Now that Chakradhar is not the problem.)
Nisha : Suna hain, tumhari biwi ke is garb main tumhari bacha pal raha hain. Aww kitna achi baath haina. ( she spat while circling her feet on her belly and suddenly pressing it with pressure.)
( I heard, Your kid is growing inside your wife's belly. Aw, What a good news for you.)
Ram: No! No! Please don't. Please don't do that. ( I tried to beg.)
Nisha : Aur mujhe vo cheez acha nahi lagtha jo tumhe santhosh dilaye. ( Her words made my vision dizzy for a moment.)
( And I don't like the things that make you happier.)
I looked at her stunned as she took out the kanjhar she had on her waist and pointed the knife downwards where Anu was lying. I felt my heart shuddering and my body shaking violently with exasperation and fear as she left the knife that directly pierced her belly.
Ram: NO!
