Ram

We came back after winning the war safely. Nisha was caught and the soldiers chained her for punishment. I seriously don't wish to see her face again. All I want is to get to know how Anu is doing.

When I saw the tents coming into view, I ran towards it impatiently. Soon I reached the entrance of the tent in which she was. I stopped suddenly feeling nervous.

The trail of thoughts made me so scared to even peek inside. What if the baby is not okay? What if her life is in danger? I don't care even if we never become parents. All I want is to see my girl safe and fine. But she would get hurt if something happened to the baby. What to do. Yes, I will adopt someone. Yes! That's the only option left.

I was thinking all this when someone poked my shoulder. I turned towards that person still planning things.

Krishna: Don't think too much and meet her. She must have been waiting for you. (His words just made me more guilty.)

If only I had been more cautious that day, this day would have never come.

I sighed and went inside sliding the silk curtains out of my way. I saw her resting with a white cloth wrapped around her stomach with a maid fanning her. Her mom is just beside her arranging some medicinal things. Gauri is sleeping beside her on the bed.

When my mom-in-law saw me coming inside, she immediately pulled Gauri outside along with the maid, leaving us alone in the room.

Why didn't they inform me if the baby was okay or not?

I gulped my saliva and went towards her.

" Anu, baby? " I called her, but she just turned sideways while keeping her hand on her belly and slept again.

Looking at her peaceful expression I don't want to disturb her sleep. But who will tell me if my child is safe or not?

I held my head with both hands as it ached due to too much thinking.

I shrugged all my thoughts and lay beside her, holding her belly with my hands and taking away the weight off her backbone.

She squirmed in her sleep and sighed loudly in satisfaction. I smiled and made myself comfortable. I was happy finally smelling her intoxicating perfume.

I closed my eyes wanting to feel her warmth after what felt like a century to me.

" Aap agaye aarya! " Her words made me smile more, but I chose to not open my eyes. (" You came Aarya! ")

" Sojao, Anu. Kal baath karenge. " I said exhausted due to that war thingy. (" Sleep, Anu. Let's talk tomorrow. ")

" Nahi Aarya! Aap janenge nahi hamara bacha kaisa hain? " She said excitedly, turning toward me, holding my hands, which were on her midriff. (" No Aarya! Will you not want to know how our child is doing? ")

She kissed my cheek suddenly and said.

" I missed you. " Her pouty statement just made me more emotional.

I couldn't control my tears looking at her being in the bed with me safe and sound. I felt my heart stop beating when that devil of a woman left the knife that pierced her belly.

I buried my head in her neck and muffled my sobs. She caressed my back controlling her own.

" Hamara bacha bilkul theek hain. Unhe kuch nahi hua hain Aarya! Yadi aap unke liye chintit hain tho nahi huyiyega! " She said and I said nothing and kept on hugging her. (" Our child is absolutely fine. Nothing happened to him, Aarya! If you're worried about him/her, then don't. ")

" Anu! I love you! " I said suddenly and got down towards her stomach and removed that cloth from her belly. It had a scar which was covered with a green paste over it, probably medicine.

" How is my jeevika doing inside? Did you miss Papa? I'm back now. No one will snatch you from me. " I said and kissed her scar.

She caressed my hair all the time I was talking with our baby.

" Jeevika? Aap firse aise kyon bol rahe hain, jaise hame ladki hi hogi? " She asked curiously, I gave her a confident smile and said. (" Jeevika? Why are you talking like, we are going to have a girl child? ")

" It's going to be a girl. My mom will never choose to be born as a man, even in her afterlife. " I said jokingly.

She smacked my head and giggled at my so-called belief of the baby's gender.

" Ab kuch nahi hoga, hame Anu. Hum kabhi alag nahi honge firse. " I said and kissed her lips, pulling her closer to my body. (" Now, nothing will happen to us, Anu. We will not get separated again. ")

" I love you, baby! " I said and again smashed my lips on hers not able to stop myself.

She slapped my chest, indicating she was out of breath. I let go of her this time and said without looking at her.

" Ab sojayiye, maharani ji. Anyatha hume patha nahi kya karenge aapke ye sundar sa gale ko apne danthon se. " I said and kept my face in her crook of the neck and closed my eyes. (" Now, sleep my Queen. Or else I don't what I will do to your beautiful neck with my teeth. ")

Meanwhile-

Abhi

What the hell is happening these days? After we received Bhai's letter about Bhabhi's abduction we all made our way towards Dwarka immediately.

I can't believe that Nisha went to this extent to take revenge. I I sighed as I paced around my tent not able to sleep.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, I heard the sound of anklet bells coming towards me, like in that Chandramukhi movie.

Will the ghost bump into me just like what happened in the movie or what? I thought, gulping in fear, and took a step back, trying to go inside the tent.

" Rajkumar, Abhimanyu! Rukiye tho! " I turned around, listening to the familiar voice. (" Prince Abhimanyu, stop please! ")

" Shashi, tum yaha? Kya hua? " I said keeping my hand on her shoulder like it was an everyday thing. (" Shashi! You here? Is everything alright? ")

She lowered her head, blushing, making me retrieve my hand back, realizing what I had just done.

" Aap rakh sakthe hain, haath. " She said and took my both hands and kept them on her waist. (" You can keep your hands on me.! ")

" Rajkunari, ky-a kar rahe hain aap? " I stuttered trying to free my hands from her grip. (" Princess, wha-t are you doing? ")

She smiled at me for a bit and left my hands afterward.

" Aap kyon hamse darthe hain? " She asked suddenly her lips protruding out cutely. (" Why do you get scared of me? " )

" Ham kisise nahi darthe samjhi tum. Hame neend aa rahi hain. Chalthe hain! Pranipath! " And was about to move when she said something unexpected. (" I don't fear anyone, did you get that? I am sleepy! I will leave! Greetings! ")

" Hum- Hum aapse pyar karthe hain! " She said, shifting her weight from one leg to another, flustered. (" I- I love you! ")

I turned around shocked. What did she say? Love and that too me? Didn't she find anyone more suitable for her? Why me?

" Hum jaanthe hain aap Meera se bahut pyar karthe hain! Aur hum aapko vo karne se nahi rokenge. Hame aapme usi lakshan atyant priya hain. Aap usse bahut pyar kiya aur anth tak karthe rahenge. Kinthu yadi aap hame aapke hriday me thoda sa- adhik nahi, keval thoda sa jagah diya tho hum aapko bahut kush rakhenge. " She said while stuttering. Her heartwarming proposal left me speechless for a moment. (" I know that you love Meera so much. And I will not ask you to stop loving her. I like the same thing about you the most. You have loved her so much and will do till the end. But, If you at least give me a little bit- not much, just a little bit of space in your heart, then I will keep you happy. ")

My eyes softened at her words which touched my heart directly. I never thought a girl would ever propose to me that too this romantically. Should I accept her? I- I don't wanna give her false hopes.

I took a deep breath and let my heart win this time. I hugged her finally, giving a green signal to her proposal.
