You carried the sleeping Gohan in your arms, following Piccolo to where you will be training for the next year. When you two descended to the ground, you started to gently shake Gohan awake.

"C'mon Gohan, it's time to get up" as you continue to shake him awake, his eyes started to flutter open, seeing that he was in a different area.

As he looked around, he saw that Piccolo was here, making him cower with fear. "Nemui, who is that?" he questioned. A soft chuckle flowed out of your lips.

"This is Piccolo, your father knows him very well. He will be here with us" as you explained to him, he started to slowly understand that Piccolo was going to help.

You gently placed him on the ground, making him stand in front of Piccolo. "Now listen Gohan, you know that your father is dead, right?"

The question made Gohan flinch, but he nodded, since you told him before.

"You've heard of the dragon balls, right? Goku's friends will gather them and bring your father back to life" Gohan nodded at the information, his body shaking in fear.

"We defeated your kidnapper, but there's two more that are more powerful than he was. They are on their way here on earth" you explained to him.

"But even if Goku was revived, he and I won't stand a chance. Nemui is the only one that is more powerful than me and Goku, but we need more!" Yelled Piccolo.

You gently patted Gohan's head, comforting him. "During the time, we need to train you so you can get more powerful"

The explanation made Gohan quiver even more. "B-but I don't know how to fight!" Piccolo stepped closer to Gohan.

"You have a power that is hidden inside you. Me and Nemui will train you until we can get that power out of you"

"Y-you're lying... I don't have any power..." Piccolo then got in his face, a smirk formed on his face.

"Do you want proof?" Before Gohan could answer, he was lifted by his head.

"Oww! Hey, what are you doing?!"

You wanted to say something, but you knew that the situation was urgent. Piccolo looked for a mountain in the distance, cocked his arm back, and threw Gohan towards the mountain. Gohan's screams echoed in the air.

'Find the power, Gohan. Find it!'

As Gohan was getting closer, he turned angry. A ball of ki surrounded him as he zoomed his way through the mountain, completely destroying it.

'That's... more than I imagined' thought Piccolo.

'I knew you could do it, Gohan'

As the smoke cleared up, you saw that the mountain was gone. Gohan was in shock. "D-did I do that?" you nodded before picking him up.

"It seems that your power bursts when your emotions are at their peak. We will teach you how to use that power to make you a great fighter"

"But I don't want to fight. I want to become a scholar..." Piccolo sighed, seeing that there was a lot to do.

"You could be whatever you want; after you defeat the two Saiyan's. We have one year to train"

Gohan started to shake again, but you gently rubbed his back. "It'll be okay, Gohan. I'll be training you as well" as you gently told him what's going to happen and placed him down, he nodded.

"Now take off your surcoat!" Piccolo demanded, causing him to flinch and struggled to take off his surcoat.

"Will my dad be able to train me as well? I want him to train me as well" "Too bad. He's powerful, but he's not a combat master"

You sighed as you rubbed your eyes, seeing that this is going to take a while for Gohan to get used to this.

'All right... let's get this over with'

"So... what do I do for t-training?" Gohan questioned. "First, do nothing. Live" Piccolo simply explained to him.

"Survive here, alone and if you're alive when we come back in six months... we'll teach you how to fight"

The blunt explanation from Piccolo made him quiver in fear. "A-alone? Here?! I'll die from loneliness!"

Piccolo chuckled before adding more salt to the wound. "Don't worry, this place is swarming with bloodthirsty beasts"

"Listen, you have no time! Survive for six months and learn how to be tough!" You gently patted his head. "We need you to train physically and mentally, Gohan. I know that you can do it"

A small smile formed on your face making Gohan form a wavering smile before nodding slightly.

The two of you started to ascend from the ground, but Gohan started to stutter a question.

"W-wait! Where do I get food?! Where do I sleep and bathe?!" the wavering question made Piccolo chuckled. "Do you think those things are prepared for you? Poor boy"

You gave Gohan one last wave before you and Piccolo flew away from the area. His cries became distant as you flew farther and farther. "Wait! Don't leave me!"

"Are you sure that you didn't go too hard on him, Piccolo?" you questioned, feeling bad that a small child had to be there all alone for six months.

"He'll be fine, Nemui. At the time, we'll be training as well. We have to be prepared for when the Saiyan's come to earth"

"Alright..."

'Please be careful, Gohan...'

Gohan was sitting on a rock as he sobbed. He didn't want to be here all alone in the wilderness. As he continued to cry, he heard loud footsteps coming towards him.

Looking up, he froze when a huge dinosaur slowly approached him. It was drooling out of his mouth, seeing that the beast was hungry.

"O-oh... no" He started to run away from the dinosaur, trying to make sure that he didn't trip and fall on something that would get him killed.

"Help! Somebody help me!" as he shouted for help, he tripped, making him slide across the ground.

As the dinosaur came closer, his body started to feel rage. Before the dinosaur was able to chomp down, Gohan jumped in the air with great height.

Gohan felt his anger flow away, seeing that he was not on top of a mountain. "Wha? Oh no... I can't get down!"

Nighttime arrived, Gohan was laying down, he was scared and hungry.

As he opened his eyes, a couple of apples were in front of him. Without hesitation, Gohan grabbed the apples, he could finally eat something.

As he continued to munch on the apples, you and Piccolo were a few yards away from him as you both watched him in the air.

"Cursed brat... if he can not survive on his own, he will be in much trouble" you hummed at Piccolo, seeing that this is going to take some time.

As the night became darker, you and Piccolo decided to get some rest. You two decided to sleep while floating, seeing that you both had the ki to do so.

Piccolo opened his eyes to see that Gohan was starting to wake up. He turned to see that you were still asleep, seeing that the charged attack from earlier took a toll on you.

Gohan stood up, seeing that it was nighttime, but the moon shined brightly down on him. "Oh, it's the moon. I've never seen it full before-" he froze. His body was still like a statue.

The sound of his heartbeat grew louder and louder, making it ring in his ears. Piccolo's eyes widened when Gohan started to turn into a great ape, his roar echoed loudly through the area.

"What the?!" Piccolo turned to you, and he started to shake you awake. "Nemui! Wake up!" your face started to scrunch up, slightly annoyed that you were disturbed from your slumber.

"What is it, Picco-" your eyes then widen when you see a giant ape that was pounding his chest. The ape made its way down the mountain, making a booming sound as he landed.

'Is that Gohan?!' you thought as you tried to rub the sleepiness out of your eyes.

The giant ape swung its arms, crushing everything that was in its path. The ape then charged a blast from its mouth before firing at a random area, making debris fly everywhere.

You and Piccolo guarded yourselves, making sure that nothing hit you from the rampage.

'What destructive power?! A-at this rate, the earth will be destroyed before the Saiyan's even get here!'

Piccolo then remembered that Saiyan's turn more powerful when they see a full moon.

Looking at the full moon, he aims a powerful ki blast at the moon, destroying it to pieces. The ape stopped its rampage, slowly getting smaller and smaller as it reverted back into Gohan.

All his clothes were ripped off, making him naked as he passed out on the ground. You both descended to the ground, making your way towards the unconscious Gohan.

"To think that he would transform..."

"It seems that we found the reason behind Goku and Gohan's strength" Piccolo hummed, seeing that destroying the moon was the right thing to do.

"You think we should remove his tail? Since there's no moon now" you asked Piccolo.

"Yeah, there should be no problem, seeing that it's also their weakness" he grabbed Gohan's tail, snapping it right off.

Pointing his finger to the ground, he summoned a sword and put some clothing on Gohan. You both ascended from the ground.

"You want to start training? Or are you still sleepy?" Piccolo teased as a sly smirk formed on his face.

A tired chuckle was heard from you, feeling yourself wanting to go back to sleep, but you both needed to train.

"Yeah, I could train for a bit. I'm still feeling tired, but I can manage it" Piccolo chuckled before you both took off flying.

At the Kame House.

Bulma was working on the device, writing down notes as she went. Screwing one last thing into the device, she then pressed a button, hearing the beeping sound light up the room.

She got up from the table with excitement. "Guys! I did it!" as she made her way to the couches, she saw that Krillin and Roshi were asleep.

"Hey!!! Wake up!" as the two were awoken from their slumber, they looked at Bulma with surprised expressions.

"If I don't get any sleep, then neither of you will get any sleep!" She then pointed to Roshi, telling him to come here.

"I switched the scaling to numeric level. Let's see... 139! That's your personal power level, Roshi"

"139, that's impressive..."

"What about my power, Bulma?!" She scanned Krillin's power level. "Whoa! yours is 206, Krillin!"

He jumped with excitement, seeing that his power was higher than his old master's. She then heard a beep from the scouter.

"There's two more that's coming our way. One's 250!"

"Oh! That's Tein!" she then scouted the other one. "This one's 177..."

"Then that must be Yamcha's" as she continued to use it, another one popped up. "A 329?! Who could that be?!"

"Maybe it's Piccolo's! Then Gohan and Nemui must be close as well!"

"Now that we have this device, we can find the others and look for the dragon balls! We'll be able to bring back Goku!" A knock on the door interrupted them.

"Yo! Anybody home?!" As Krillin went to open the door, he saw a short person with long hair and a katana. "Hey, you're the one that was at Korin's place... um... itchyrobe?"

"It's Yajirobe!"

"Korin sent me here because he knows the situation that is going to happen. He says that everyone's at his place. Also, Kami and I are going to train everyone"

Krillin's eyes widen, saying that everyone will be there" "Well, later. I've done what I was 'spose to do"

Yajirobe then walked to his floating vehicle. "Oh yeah, one more thing. Kami said not to bring back Goku until a year has passed"

"But why?" asked Krillin. Bulma and Roshi were confused as well. "He said that Goku's training in hell. Just ask the old witch" he then drove away from the island.

Later that day, Krillin packed his stuff and made his way to Korin's tower. He found Yamcha and Tien as well. Through the ongoing six months, they were put on strict training from Kami.

Goku was still running and running, he had a long way to go. Meanwhile, Gohan's starting to survive on his own now. As the dinosaur from the beginning tried to eat him once more, Gohan was now able to handle it.

As he was able to trick and stun the dinosaur, he cut a slice of the dinosaur's tail, seeing that this was his lunch.

From above, you watched as he cooked his meal, you had a faint smile while Piccolo had a sly smirk. You were glad that he was getting the hang of this, but you knew that it was going to get harder for him very soon.

"He seems to be getting it well" you spoke, making Piccolo nod. "Yeah. It's time to begin the real testing"

You both stood in front of Gohan, he was at the attacking phase, pulling off kicks and punches. You and Piccolo block it with one hand as he practices his fighting skills.

Before he was able to land a kick, you vanished.

"Huh? Where'd he go?" you appeared behind him and tapped his shoulder. "Right behind you" he turned to see you, giving you a wide smile.

Facing Gohan, you took a defensive stance. "You ready, Gohan?" his body started to shake, but he nodded. Piccolo watched as you trained Gohan, telling Gohan what he needed to know when fighting an opponent.

"Concentrate! You call that a defense?!"

As days became weeks then became months, his training has been getting tougher. You three sat on a mountain, Gohan had a bruise on his eye from his training Piccolo.

"Owww..."

"Heh, at least his six months have taught you not to be a baby" spoke Piccolo. Gohan lightly chuckled before asking you both a question.

"So you both fought my dad before?" Piccolo nodded while you shook your head. "I've fought him many times, but Nemui hasn't fought him yet"

The answer made Gohan chuckle a bit. "So Nemui must be really strong" He added.

"Yup, I've fought him as well and I was beaten. He's definitely stronger than me" you softly chuckled at the conversation.

As the day got darker, Gohan was the first to fall asleep. You were next, falling asleep against the mountain. Piccolo stayed up for a bit, making sure that nothing was going to attack them while they were sleeping.

He decided to get his rest as well, seeing that the six months were about to be over soon.

As Goku made it to the end of the serpent's trail, he found a planet that was close by. When arriving on the planet, the atmosphere felt heavy.

When he met King Kai, he had to do an easy task. Catch Bubbles the monkey. He thought that it would be easy, but with heavy gravity, it was difficult.

For the next forty days and nights, he was able to catch Bubbles. "I did it! I caught them!" King Kai smiled, seeing that his task was finally complete.

"Magnificent work, Goku!" As he congratulated him, he thought about how his training is going to improve in the next 118 days.

"Are you ready for tougher training?!"

"I'm ready!"

"You have to be the best! The greatest fighter in the universe! Physically! Mentally! In every way!"

"I'm ready!"

"Ok! Let's have some tea first..." Goku deadpanned as he fell to the ground. Meanwhile, at Korin's tower. Kami was finishing everyone's training, telling them to go to the lower world and refine their skills.

"You've all surpassed me now. I leave the future to you"

"Yes sir!"

All the fighters were training even harder now. Refining skills, checking what you're best at. Gohan's intense training was going great, he was able to slowly catch up to you and Piccolo.

Goku was having a hard time with his new training, but he'll do his best to achieve it. They needed to be ready for when the saiyan's land on earth.
