"Good game, everyone. You can rest for the whole day. You're all excused from your classes this afternoon," Coach Mickey said.

The practice match ended. Mikha's team won, but it was also a tough game. The player of the game is Sophia.

"Be ready for the game tomorrow. If we win tomorrow, then we're in the semifinals again," Coach Mickey said.

"Yes, coach," The players said.

One by one, umalis na mga teammates ni Mikha. Si Mikha, Gwen, Jho, and Maloi ang naiwan sa gym. Tinatanggal nila mga equipment at pinupunta sa storage room.

"Nag-usap kayo ni Colet kanina," Jho said.

"Yes, pero saglit lang. I just said ako bahala sa game," Mikha said.

"Bakit naman?" Gwen asked.

"Because I still feel they need space to think," Mikha said.

"Nilapitan ka na nga eh ang slow mo na friend Mikhs," Maloi said.

"I know I'm slow at this kind of thing," Mikha said.

"You should try to talk to them, especially Aiah. Hindi yung binabantayan mo lang siya sa malayuan," Maloi said.

"Honestly, I don't know how," Mikha said.

"Luckily for you, I know how," Maloi said.

"Bilis mo naman mag-isip Loi," Jho said.

"Si Maloi pa ba? Sa atin apat, siya ang pinakamatalino sa ideas," Gwen said.

"Ouch, Gwen ah," Jho said.

"Guys back to topic," Maloi said.

"Okay okay," Jho said.

"Ma'am Ica called me in the faculty office before your practice match. Magkakaroon tayo ng field trip sa isang orphanage for three days and by partners sa buong trip. So as your loyal friend, pinag-partner ko kayo agad ni Aiah sa list na bukas ng umaga sasabihin sa class," Maloi said.

"Ay kakaiba talaga ang bilis ng isip mo Loi," Jho said.

"Ako pa ba? Hindi ko alam mangyayare sa inyo kung wala ako," Maloi said.

"When is the field trip?" Mikha asked.

"This weekend." Maloi said.

"I still have a few days to prepare." Mikha said.

"Siguraduhin mo lang magiging okay na kayo kundi lagot ka samin," Jho said.

"Namimiss na din kasi ni Jho si Stacey," Gwen said.

"Sinusubukan ko siya makausap kaso madami na naman mga pasimple lumalapit sa kanya. Hindi lang kami okay eh," Jho said.

"Ask Gwen for help," Mikha said.

"Gwenny," Jho said.

"I'll help you tomorrow before the game," Gwen said.

"Sa atin apat, kami lang ata ni Gwen ang mabilis mag-isip," Maloi said.

"Oo na, we accept that we can't do anything without the two of you," Mikha said.

"Very good, Mikhs," Maloi said.

Sumabay na si Maloi kay Jho sa pag-uwi. Dala naman ni Mikha at Gwen mga motorcycle nila. Naisipan nila na bisitahin puntod ng parents ni Mikha.

"Hi tita, tito," Gwen said.

"Hi mom, dad," Mikha said.

"Tito lakas pagka-torpe ng anak niyo," Gwen said.

"Makapag-sumbong talaga ito," Mikha said.

"Hayaan niyo po ako bahala sa pinsan ko. Sisiguraduhin ko na magiging sila ni Aiah," Gwen said.

"Childhood bestfriends nga lang kami," Mikha said.

"Nag-dedeny ka pa, nasa harap na tayo ng puntod ng parents mo," Gwen said.

"I admit, I like Aiah," Mikha said.

"Bilis mo naman napa-amin," Gwen said.

"Baka bisitahin pa ako nila mom sa panaginip," Mikha said.

"Basta wag po kayo mag-alala kay Mikha, you taught her well," Gwen said.

"I'm okay po. I missed the both of you," Mikha said.

After a few minutes, umuwi na din ang mag-pinsan sa Papi House. Sila lang dalawa since umuwi si Jho at Colet sa sarili nilang bahay for family bonding. Bigla tumawag si Jho sa phone ni Mikha.

Jho said her location, then Mikha dropped the call. Kaka-baba ni Gwen galing sa room niya.

"I know that look," Gwen said.

They used their motorcycles. When they arrived at Jho's location, their friend was on the ground, and her wounds had just healed.

"They were waiting for us. They left me to send a message," Jho said.

"What message?" Mikha asked.

"Bring the alpha," Jho said.

"Kuya Enzo? But currently he's not here," Mikha said.

"Huh? Nasaan si Kuya Enzo?" Gwen asked.

"Nasa ibang bansa, may inasikaso sila ni Kuya Bryan kasama dad ni Aiah," Mikha said.

"Sinubukan ko na din tawagan si Coach Mickey, pero hindi sumasagot," Jho said.

"The three of us, we'll go rescue Maloi," Mikha said.

"Mikhs, for sure this time there are not just two hunters," Gwen said.

"And the place they said has a bit of disadvantage for us," Jho said.

"Where?" Mikha asked.

"The health center that we know secretly holds supernatural creatures," Jho said.

"We need help. There's only one person I can think of. Let's go," Mikha said.

"Who?" Gwen and Jho asked.

Mikha didn't answer their question. Iniwan muna nila car ni Jho sa Papi House at sa motorcycle ni Gwen sumabay si Jho.

"Colet's house? Hihingi ka ng tulong kay Colet?" Jho asked.

"Instinct," Mikha said.

Before Mikha could knock on the door, Colet was already behind them.

"What are the three of you doing here?" Colet asked.

"We need help, it's Maloi. She's been kidnapped by hunters we met before," Mikha said.

Colet suddenly went to the garage on the left side of their house. She got weapons then lumabas ng garage gamit car niya.

"Let's go, lead the way," Colet said.

Mikha, Gwen, and Jho just nodded, then they went to the health center. The basement is where all the supernatural creatures, who are very dangerous are locked. Half of it is built with mountain ash.

"This is not good timing, especially since we have a game tomorrow," Gwen said.

"We'll use diplomatic means," Mikha said.

"If that doesn't work?" Jho asked.

"If fighting happens, no killing. Our main priority is to rescue Maloi," Mikha said.

"Coach was right. You prioritize other people, especially your friends, rather than yourself," Colet said.

"I want to protect everyone," Mikha said.

"We'll protect each other," Colet said while smiling.

They silently entered the health center in one of the back doors. As they walk to the basement, two hunters already attack them, but Colet knocks them down.

"Supernatural creatures may be enemies of hunters, but I hate hunters who kill innocents," Colet said.

"Thanks, Colet," Mikha said.

"Don't thank me yet. Prioritize Maloi first," Colet said.

Dumaan sila sa mga prison rooms, alam nila na iba't-ibang kind ng supernatural creatures nasa bawat room. Pumasok sila sa isang malaking room. Nakita nila nakatali si Maloi sa isang poste. Nilapitan agad siya ni Colet. Lalapit palang sana sila Mikha, pero bigla may nabangga sila na invisible wall.

"This is the half of the building built with mountain ash," Jho said.

"Mikhs nanghihina si Maloi," Colet said.

"Quick Colet untie her," Mikha said.

Tinatanggal ni Colet pagkatali kay Maloi. Bigla lumabas ang two hunters sa door sa left side ng room. One of them shot Colet on the shoulder, which made her lean to the wall near Maloi. The other one also shot Jho on the shoulder, Gwen holds Jho.

"Colet! Jho!" Gwen said.

"Looks like we have a traitor, a hunter helping werewolves," Hunter 1 said.

"Nice to see you again, girls," Hunter 2 said.

"Don't hurt our friend, please," Mikha said.

"We already did. Your tied friend here has drank water with mistletoe in it," Hunter 1 said.

"They didn't kill anyone, let them go," Colet said.

"Someone's been brainwashed. They will kill, it's in their nature," Hunter 2 said.

"Their nature or yours? We only hunt them if they truly killed someone innocent," Colet said.

"Wait, we said bring the alpha," Hunter 1 said.

"The alpha isn't here. We came here to talk," Mikha said.

"We don't want to talk. We came here to kill an alpha," Hunter 2 said.

Mikha tried breaking the barrier to pass through.

"No werewolves can go through the barrier," Hunter 2 said while laughing.

"Wala ka magagawa kahit anong lakas pa ilabas mo," Hunter 1 said.

"Your friends will die, there's nothing you can do but watch them," Hunter 1 said.

Mikha looks at her friends. In her mind, she wants to save them, and she won't let them die. She took a deep breath, went close to the barrier, then started to push. Using all the strength she had, slowly she felt the strange power again. She didn't stop and continued pushing until the barrier was gone. Gwen quickly knocked down one of the hunters.



"That's impossible," Hunter 1 said.

The hunter was about to shoot Mikha, but she quickly took the gun and pinned the guy to the wall.

"I'm an alpha now. I'll continue protecting everyone," Mikha said.

Mikha knocked down the hunter, then she quickly went to help Colet stand up while Gwen untied Maloi. Jho slowly stood up too, her shoulder just healed. Lumabas na sila ng health center, dumiretso sila sa Papi House.

Nagulat sila na nasa loob si Coach Mickey at brother ni Mikha. They quickly told them what happened, except for the part about Mikha turning into an alpha. Nakahiga si Maloi sa sofa at nakaupo naman si Colet sa armchair.

"Si Maloi, hindi pa din nagigising at nanghihina na siya," Colet said.

"Colet, we need to get you to the hospital," Mikha said.

"Ayoko pumunta dun, need ko makita okay si Maloi," Colet said.

"Ako na bahala kay Colet," Enzo said.

Enzo held Colet's hand. Slowly, Colet's wound has healed.

"How?" Mikha asked.

"One of the powers of an alpha is to take the pain of someone and heal them," Enzo said.

"Then let me heal Maloi," Mikha said.

"Bunso you're a beta, not an alpha," Enzo said.

"I'm an alpha," Mikha said.

Mikha made her eyes glow red.

"A true alpha has emerged," Coach Mickey said.

"The myth is true, a beta earning alpha status without killing or stealing power from an alpha," Enzo said.

"Now let me heal my friend," Mikha said.

"I won't let you," Enzo said.

"Maloi is my friend. I'll use my power," Mikha said.

"Mikha, if you do that, you'll lose the alpha power," Coach Mickey said.

"But Kuya Enzo just said," Mikha said.

"You can heal someone, but healing someone who's been poisoned this strongly will make you lose the alpha power that you just got," Coach Mickey said.

"I'll heal Maloi," Enzo said.

"Kuya, you'll be the one losing your alpha status," Mikha said.

"If it means I'm going back to being a beta, then it's okay with me. I want to save your friend. As your brother, I'll save everyone who is important to you," Enzo said.

Enzo held Maloi's hand. His eyes are glowing red. Slowly, they see the pain in Maloi's hand transferring to Enzo's hand. His glowing red eyes are turning blue. He's now a beta again. Napaupo si Enzo sa floor. Mikha, Gwen, and Jho knows why the glow of his eyes is blue.

"Kuya Enzo," Mikha said.

"I'll just need a bit of a rest," Enzo said.

Inalalayan ni Coach Mickey si Enzo sa guest room. Nilapitan ni Colet si Maloi.

"You love her," Mikha said.

"I do, I just accepted my feelings for her that night when you guys saved us," Colet said.

"Colet akala ko si Aiah ang gusto mo," Jho said.

"At first it was Aiah, but since last year I keep on denying falling for Maloi," Colet said.

"Oh, ayan Mikhs wag kasi i-deny ang feelings kundi mahuhulog ka talaga ng tuluyan," Gwen said.

"Nahulog na nga si captain Mikha," Jho said.

"I already know Mikha likes Aiah," Colet said.

"Akala ko nililigawan mo na si Aiah," Mikha said.

"I did confess, but she only saw me as her bestfriend," Colet said while laughing a bit.

"Halos lagi mo siya hinahatid pauwi," Mikha said.

"Kasi alam ko na nag-aalala ka pag mag-isa siya uuwi, especially you're thinking of Gelo coming close to her," Colet said.

"Thanks, Colet," Mikha said.

"Talk to her, okay? She missed her childhood bestfriend," Colet said.

"I will," Mikha said while smiling.

"Sa wakas buo na ulit ang papi line," Gwen said.

"Gwen tutulungan mo pa ako makausap si Stacey bukas," Jho said.

"Namimiss na din ni Stacey pang-aasar mo sa kanya Jho," Colet said.

"Bilis-bilisan niyo na gumalaw Mikha at Jho," Gwen said.

"Oo na gagalawin ko na ang baso," Mikha said.

The four of them are smiling at each other. Coach Mickey is looking at them, he's smiling too.

"Mina, Johan, your children are doing okay, especially Mikha. She's going to be a great alpha," Coach Mickey said.
