Valentina's POV

The bell rang indicating the lunch break has started.

The professor bid us bye and left the class and one-by-one students began to move out as well.

I stretched a bit before turning to look at my brother who was--wait sleeping ?!

When did he sleep ? How I didn't notice it before ? Maybe I was too focused on the lecture to notice his sleeping self.

And wait why didn't the professor say anything to hi--Ah ! Then I remember who we are actually.

I sighed before I started to shake Franceso to wake him up.

"Francesco, wake up !" I shook him.

Nope ! Not a muscle move.

"Come on, wake up bro." I said and shook him hard.

"Umm..let me sleep." He mumbled in a pure sleepy state.

"Aish ! Wake up. It's lunch time. Aren't you hung--" I didn't get to complete the sentence as Franceso sat straight suddenly.

"Yes-Yes ! I am hungry. Let's go my dear food is calling m-me. I am c-coming my darling food." Francesco spurred out as he stood up and moved forward only to trip over his own leg and fell down before I could catch him.

I laughed, clutching my stomach.

"Y-You...haha..omy." I said between my laughter.

Francesco groaned and I managed to stop myself from laughing more on my brother's stupid yet cute acts.

I stood up and walked over to him and forwarded my hand, "Get up, sleepy head." I said, giggling.

Francesco looked up, pouting at me but nevertheless grabbed my hand and got up to his height.

"Aish ! Sisy it's not funny." He said, embarrassed as I kept giggling.

"It is. You should look at yourself--like I didn't even get to finish my sentence and you were out of your seat just to trip over on your own leg..hehe." I said, smiling, teasingly.

Francesco pouted, "That's because I am hungry and I can't help."

I chuckled, "I know you are." Patted his cheek, gently. "Let's go & fill you up from food, sleepy head." I said as I grabbed my bag and started to walk away.

Francesco followed me and we walked side-by-side.

"You shouldn't sleep like these in class, Francesco." I scolded him softly.

"Can't help. The lecture was so boring and my precious eyes were begging me to let them rest so I granted them their wish, sisy." Francesco sheepishly said making me shake my head.

"I will complain to Alessandro if you slept again like these." I playfully said.

My brother gasped, dramatically. He knew how strict our eldest brother is about his siblings education.

"Haww ! Sisy how can you ? You wounded me." He said clutching his heart like I have hurt him physically.

I rolled my eyes & nudged him playfully, "Come on ! Don't be dramatic I am serious here."

Francesco sighed, "How can you sntiched about your fav cute brother, sisy ?!" He exclaimed, grabbing my forearm.

"Who said you are my fav huh ?!" I asked, narrowed my eyes at him. The playfulness was still in my tone.

He gasped, "What do you mean ? Am I not your fav brother ?! I thought I was !" He adorably pouted making me giggle.

But I was enjoying teasing him so I continued, "Sorry to correct you then--Franceso you aren't my fav brother someone else is." I pretend to say it seriously.

Francesco whined, dramatically making the passer by stare at him with amusement & disbelief.

"This is unfair. Tell me you are joking, sisy. I am your fav brother right ?" He held my wrist tugging me close to him and looked at me with a cute pout adoring his face.

Before I could say anything I heard whispers like--

"Did Franceso Moretti just pouted ?!" "He did and I think my eyes got blessed." "I can't believe what I am seeing right now ?!" "Neither I can..it's like I am dreaming." "Francesco is so cute."

I looked back at Francesco and I realised I wasn't the only one who heard those whispers.

"Y'all f*king mind your own business ! And leave us alone." Francesco suddenly yelled making others startled including me.

It's still amusing to me to see my brothers acting entirely different towards me from how they act with others.

For others, they are like untouchable, cold, rude, 'I don't give a fu*k about you' types.

But for me--they are like gentle, kind, caring, doting types who happen to be overprotective.

I smiled secretly and just dragged Francesco with me as he kept glaring at others.

"Stop glaring now." I said once we reached the huge cafeteria doors.

"They annoy me so much. Can't they mind their own business instead of whispering about me." He grumbled, opening the door for me.

I giggled, "Didn't you say to me on the first day that you are kinda popular here so deal with it."

Francesco sighed but nodded anyway and began to look for our brothers as I did the same.

My eyes fell on a very familiar group of girls. They are the same girls who were messing with me on the first day.

But after Xander confronted them--they haven't dared to cross paths with me or mess with me. Yet I haven't missed the glares they would pass me whenever I am with one of my brothers. Especially the blonde one--she seems to like to despise me the most out of all of them.

"Sisy, our brothers are there." I heard Franceso say before he began to pull me in a certain direction where our brothers are.

We took the remaining seats that were reserved for us.

"Finally you both are here." Massimo exclaimed.

"What took you so long to come here ? The bell rang almost 15 minutes ago." Matteo asked.

I glanced at Francesco who begged me with his eyes not to say a word about his little funny act.

"Well, we got late because of me. I had some doubts so I stayed back to clear them with the professor and Francesco waited for me as well." I smoothly came up with an excuse.

Others believe it and nodded their heads and Franceso passed me his grateful smile to which I just nodded back with a small smile of my own.

"Let's order food. I am so hungry." Francesco said and walked to the food counter.

Meanwhile I just took out my lunch box which Luciano packed for me. It still warmed my heart knowing my sweet brother--Luciano regularly packed my lunch with his own hands every single day.

Francesco returned, "It will take some time ugh !" He whined. I have noticed my brothers particularly Francesco become very cranky when he is hungry.

"Ouch !" Francesco hissed when Matteo slapped his hand away when he was going to pick some fries from his plate.

"Don't touch my food." Matteo grumbled, pulling his plate away from Francesco who glared at him and mumbled. "Heartless j*rk !"

"Here have this until your food arrives." I offered, politely as I slid my lunch box in his direction.

Franceso's eyes twinkle in delight like a small kid. "You are so kind, sisy unlike some heartless people present here." He said staring intently at Matteo who just rolled his eyes.

I chuckled, "Just eat." and like a hungry lad he began to eat.

After a few minutes, "My food must be ready let me go and fetch it." Francesco said wiping his fingers with tissues but before he could get up I said.

"Sit. I got this." and stood up.

"Oh no ! Sisy it's okay I will get it." He said grabbing my wrist but I gently pulled out of his hold.

"I want to buy a drink too." I said and before he persisted more I walked away from the table.

I walked to the counter where we waited for our order while my eyes scanned the drinking menu as well that was presented on the slab of the counter.

Just then my eyes fell beside me and a quiet gasp left my lips seeing a familiar face.

"Nico ?!"

Nicolas turned towards me and he looked very surprised to see me like he couldn't believe I would recognise him.

"Tina ?!"

After the day I saved him I was trying to find me so I could ask how he was ? But he didn't show up and I thought maybe he took some days off for his injuries and I was right.

My eyes scanned his bruised up face which looked slightly better from the day I saved him.

"How are you ? You look better now." I said, softly.

He nodded, "I am fine and thanks to you. I-I can't believe it." He mumbled the last part to himself but I heard him anyway.

I frowned, "Can't believe what ?" He looked surprised like he wasn't expecting me to hear him.

"That you are talking to me. I-I thought you would ignore me and forget about me." He said, rubbing his nape and chuckling nervously.

So my assumption was right.

"Nico, I am not a person who ignores people for no reason. Besides why would you think like that ?" I asked.

"I just thought--You are a Moretti..from a very rich background why would you want to talk to a person like me." He softly mumbled.

"Person like you ? What do you mean by that Nico ?" I asked, lowly.

"I am a scholarship student."

"Si I know that--you told me. So what ?"

Nicolas looked at me, wearily and I sighed finally realising what he was trying to imply.

"Listen to me--just because you are a scholarship student doesn't mean I should look down on you. If anything I admired your hard work for enrolling here all on your own without any back support or money. You should be proud of yourself, Nico. You shouldn't think low of yourself."

Nico looked very stunned as he heard me. I smiled softly at him. "Intenso ?"

(Understood ?)

"Grazie and si inteso." He said, lowly with a grateful smile.

(Thank you and yes understood)

Just then we heard our orders being called out and we collected it and began to walk away from the counter.

Nico was going in another direction but I called him. "Nico wait !"

He turned to look at me with a frown, "Si tina ?"

"How about you join me and have lunch together ?" I politely asked.

His eyes widened, "Y-You want me to join you for lunch ?!"

I nodded, "I do."

"B-But what about your b-brothers ? I think they wouldn't like me there." He slowly said, looking conflicted.

I frowned, "Why wouldn't they ?"

"Well...just like that." He fumbled out but I shook my head.

"They wouldn't mind. I assure you. Just come please." I urged but he stayed unmoved & silent.

I sighed before I used my final trick to make him agree with me.

"Nico if you really want to thank me for saving you that day just come and have lunch with me now."

Nicolas looked shocked before he finally slowly nodded his head. I grinned.

We began to move in my brothers direction. Massimo was the first one to notice me but then his eyes fell on Nico who was behind me, taking almost baby steps.

Massimo whispered something to others and they all immediately snapped to look in my direction and their eyes zeroed on Nico who suddenly muttered.

"Tina I think it's not a good idea."

"Come on ! Don't be so afraid. They won't do anything. I wouldn't let them." I assured him, glancing back at him.

Just as we were near the table suddenly I heard a crashing sound and I quickly turned around only to see Nico's food plate was all over the cafeteria floor, totally wasted.

My eyes fell on Nico who stood shocked and looked very sad.

Then my eyes caught a boy beside Nico who I guess is the reason behind this waste of food.

I thought he would apologise and maybe buy Nicolas lunch as an apology but to my utter shock the boy said something entirely different.

"You fr*ak ! Watch the fu*k where you are going." The boy snapped, looking at Nico with disgust that made me narrow my eyes at him.

"I-I..." Before Nico could complete his sentence the rude boy shoved him back, almost knocking down Nico on the floor.

"Get away. Don't waste my time !!" Saying this he was going to leave but I had enough of him.

"Hey you ! Wait right there." I coldly called out.

Suddenly a silence took over the cafeteria and I could feel eyes on me including my brothers but my focus was on that rude boy.

If he thinks he can just walk away then he is very wrong.

Valentina's POV

Third Person's POV

The cafeteria filled with students had their attention on the girl who happens to hang out with Moretti brothers a lot from the past few days.

The rumours have spread among everyone that this girl has some strong connections with Moretti brothers because no one has before seen the very rich, handsome looking Moretti brothers to be seen with one girl for a very long period of time.

They also have noticed how the brothers treat the girl name--Valentina with so much care & love. Their actions speak louder than words. Like--

Waiting for her outside the class. Opening & closing doors for her. Always being on guard around her.

Moreover, Xander's warning words to those 5 give girls in which 2 of them are known as 'radio girls' because those two were famous for spreading any type of gossip or rumours among others very quickly and they have done the work.

And that's why students were cautious around Valentina all the time.

But the scene playing in the cafeteria right now has caught the attention of others and everyone is eager to know what will happen next.

Meanwhile, Moretti brothers exchange glaces with each other.

"We should step in--"Matteo was cut off by his twin, Xander.

"No. Let's see what she would do next." Xander said, his eyes fixed on his sister whose back was facing them.

"But what if.." Xander again spoke up.

"Just wait & watch. Our sister is much more capable of handling things on her own than we could imagine." Xander said and before one of them could protest more they heard their sister saying.

"Where do you think you are going without apologizing to him huh ?!" Valentina said, sternly.

The boy turned around and looked towards Valentina with an annoyed face but Valentina didn't flatter.

"Excuse me ? The h*ll I will not apologise to this fr*ak here huh." The boy spat, arrogantly and this only boiled Valentina's anger.

"You should and you will apologise to him and buy him lunch as a token of your apology." Valentina firmly voiced out only to hear a mocking laugh in return which came from the boy.

"Aren't you quite the delusional, girl."

"Bold of you to assume that I will do such things on your say. Do you know who I am ?" He rudely said.

Moretti brothers at the back clenched their fists. Their anger boiling like lava hearing some rich brat talking to their sister like that.

But what Valentina next said--surprised them except Xander who was impressed.

"I am not interested to know about a person like you who is so arrogant & rude and who doesn't know how to apologise for his mistake."

Others whisper among themselves, clearly stunned the way Valentina is talking right now. They have mostly presume Valentina to be a soft spoken weak girl who can't stood up for herself but here she was standing up for another person who she barely knows.

"Hey you ! Can't talk to me like that." The boy spat taking a step towards Valentina and seeing this Francesco was going to stand up but Galene held his wrist and shook his head, signaling him to stay put & watch.

Francesco sighed but obeyed his brother with fists clenched as he looked over his sister with worry filled eyes.

"And you think you could just walk away after cursing him & almost knocking him down huh." Valentina spat back.

"Tina, it's o-okay. Let it g-go." Nicolas whispered beside Valentina who shook her head in denial.

"Of course it is not okay, Nico. He can't just walk away at least not until he apologizes properly for his mistake." Valentina said, giving a brief glance to Nicolas.

"There is no way I am going to apologise to this fr*ak here !" The boy said, pointing a finger at Nicolas who shrink in his place and looked down when he heard the snickering sounds in the background.

This was nothing new to him. Everyone here belongs to rich backgrounds with high class status and they have always looked down at him with disgust in their eyes like he was some pest.

"Stop calling him a fr*ak !!" Valentina snapped, angrily. "If anything--you are the arrogant je*k here."

Moretti brothers eyes widened when they heard their sister cursing for the first time.

"No way our sweet princess just cursed ?!" "Damn..that was cool of her." "Sisy is really cursing?! Woah." "She could c-curse too ? U-Unbelievable."

Meanwhile, Xander just smirked.

"How dare you call me a je*k ?!" The boy seethed.

"By my mouth." Valentina sassily replied making others snickered in the background and the boy--oh he was turning red in anger.

"You will regret humility me like these in front of everyone.Fai attenzione alle mie parole." He threatened.

(Mind my words)

"You felt humiliated now ? Then what about Nicolas doesn't he feel the same when you look down on him with disgust in your eyes huh ?!" Valentina scowled, angrily.

Back then and now too Valentina hated when a person looked down on another person like they are trash, like they have no self-respect, no worth.

She knew this feeling all too well because she has gone through it numerous times but not anymore.

Nicolas looked at Valentina with overwhelmed feelings in his heart. No one has ever stood up for him like the girl in front of him just did.

"That's because he is a disgusting creature. So he deserves to be treated like one." The boy said and smirked which shows he doesn't have a single ounce of regret to say those cruel worlds.

"Excuse me--how dare you call him that ?! You piece of arrogant sh*t !!" Valentina burst out, angrily.

She had noticed the way Nicolas flinched with unshed tears in his eyes and that only clenched her heart.

"Woah ! I have never seen sisy so angry before." Francesco mumbled.

"Last time she was cold like ice when we forced her to go to the hospital for a check up but now she is bursting out like a dangerous lava." Massimo said, gulping.

"She is seething in pure anger..damn." Matteo whispered.

Meanwhile, Galene & Xander were silently observing their sister yet their opinions about her were entirely different.

'She could be generously angry too. Interesting.' Galene thought.

'Looks like my little sparkle does inherit some of my anger issues too.' Xander thought with a smirk.

"Listen here--you rude brat--Nicolas doesn't deserve to be treated like trash not by you, not by anyone present here." Valentina firmly voiced out as her hazel eyes glanced over others.

"If anything--you all should be ashamed of yourself for treating a scholar like him with such disrespect." Valentina stated, her voice carried the hint of disappointment.

Moretti brothers glanced among one another. They were stunned to see their sister standing up for a boy she barely knows. It irked them but they also remember their father's words.

'Our principessa is a kind angel who will help anybody who needs it but that doesn't mean she doesn't care about you.'

"I-I.." The boy flattered. Valentina's words hit him hard. No one has ever corrected him for his mistake before but his ego wasn't going to let him accept his damn mistake.

"Just because he is a scholarship student doesn't mean he is not one of us. Instead of bullying him for his status you all should treat him with respect because he deserves it. He deserves to be here because of his hard work unlike others who are here because of their rich backgrounds & connections."

This time Valentina's words hit hard for every person who looked down at Nicolas, who had treated Nicolas badly.

"Woah ! How dramatic a speech she is giving right now." The same blondie mumbled with a scoff.

Valentina took a deep breath, "It's not too late. Apologise to Nicolas and correct your damn mistake." Valentina said, staring right at the boy.

Seeing enough Xander stood up and stopped walking until he reached Valentina.

"Better for you if you just do as she says now." Xander coldly said.

The boy shivered, he knows Xander and what he is capable of doing to him.

"I-I...*grit teeth* apologise." The boy finally said in fear yet a sense of humiliation washing over him.

"Apologise loudly & properly." Valentina voiced out, sternly

"You bit--" The boy was cut off by Xander.

"Curse my sister and you will know how easy it is for me to cut your damn tongue right here, right now." Xander said in octave low voice as his black eyes flared with challenge.

Just as those words left Xander's lips. A wave of whispers surrounded the silent cafeteria.

'The rumour was true--She is their sister !!' 'She is a Moretti ?!' 'They have a sister. Unbelievable.' 'That explains their behaviour towards her.'

The same blond girl clenched her fist, seeing Xander again fiercely protecting Valentina--this time in front of everyone.

"Sorella ? She is y-your s-sister ?!" The boy asked in horror & disbelief. He had heard those rumours but he ignored it, thinking it wasn't true.

But right now, it was all true and he knew he fu*ked up !

"Si, she is our sorella. Moretti's one & only principessa." Matteo announced as he stood at the other side of Valentina.

"I-I..." The boy, gulped hard. His face paled white as Moretti's brothers stood around Valentina like devil protectors who wouldn't let a single harm touch her.

"Cat got your tongue now huh." Massimo mocked, coldly.

"Weren't you boldly speaking just a moment ago hmm." Matteo taunted.

"I-I didn't k-know she was y-your s-sister." The boy, stuttered out nervously.

"I-I am s-sorr--" Francesco cut him off coldly.

"You should--you moron."

"Do you know what consequences you have to face for talking to our princess like that ?!" Matteo sneered at him.

"Please..I-I am s-sorry. I-I didn't k-know--" Francesco again cut him off.

"Too bad. You should have known to whom you are talking with." Francesco glared making the boy take a step back.

Moretti brothers were popular for their intimidating persona. Moretti's were someone who refused to bear disrespect from anyone.

The boy realised he had just dared to disrespect--the one & only princess of Moretti !

And now ? He knows her brothers weren't going to leave him that easily.

Massimo took a step forward towards the boy to teach him a lesson but he stopped when he felt someone grabbing his wrist.

He turned slightly back only to his dove holding his wrist, stopping him in his track.

Valentina shook her head as a 'no'

"I-I will pay for his lunch and a-apologize to him. Just don't do anything to m-me." The boy quickly said, seeing the chance & using it.

The boy turned towards Nicolas and said, "Look--I am s-sorry for bumping into you and almost knocking you down. I s-shouldn't have called you names too. F-Forgive me."

Nicolas stunned with the apology slowly nodded his head, "I-It's okay."

The boy quickly bought a plate of food and shoved into Nicolas hands. "Here. Sorry once again." Saying this he was about to walk away but Matteo was quick enough to catch him by his collar.

"Where do you think you are going ?"

"I-I already said sorry." The boy desperately said.

"And what about our principessa ? Say sorry to her properly." Matteo said then his voice dropped to low so the boy only could heard.

"And do it properly or else you know what I am capable of doing to you."

The boy trembled in his place but quickly nodded.

"I-I am sorry. I shouldn't have talked to you rudely. Please forgive me."

Valentina glanced at her brothers who were throwing daggers at the trembling boy. She sighed.

"Okay. Just don't this again, si ?" She said and the boy nodded his head quickly.

"Si-Si." (Yes-Yes)

"Matteo let go of him now." Valentina said, seeing her brother didn't let go of the collar even after the boy apologise for his mistake.

Matteo sighed but with jerk he left the collar, "Leave !"

The boy didn't need to be told twice because he fled off immediately making the brothers snicker at him quietly.

"Everyone the show is over. Get back to your work." Francesco yelled out.

"And one more thing--If anyone dares to disrespect our sister or as much as think about harming her in anyway--you have to deal with us." Xander said, his voice held the underlined warning which sent a shiver down to everyone's spine and they immediately nodded their heads before looking away as if nothing had happened.

Moretti siblings walked back to their table with Nicolas following behind.

"He is joining us too ?" Francesco asked, narrowing his eyes at Nicolas who stopped mid-way of sitting on the chair like he was caught red-handed.

"Yes he is. I invited him." Valentina said and pulled Nicolas on his seat by holding his wrist.

The brothers glared at Nico still doesn't liking his presence around their sister.

Poor Nicolas he sat on his chair stiff like a rock. He knew it was a bad idea to join them but Valentina didn't leave him a chance.

"Tina ?" Nico called out, slowly.

"Yes, Nico." Valentina said, her focus on her food and the glares which her dear brothers were giving to Nicolas went unnoticed by her.

"T-Thank you for taking a stand for me there. You wouldn't have to though." He whispered the last part which Valentina heard as she was just beside him.

"I would do it again if I have to Nico." Valentina said with a beautiful smile as she looked at Nico who can't help but admire her.

"You have a beautiful smile, Tina." Nicolas absentmindly said, aloud which immediately caught the attention of Moretti brothers who were watching him like a hawk.

Valentina blushed slightly still not very good at taking compliments from anyone.

"Did you just compliment MY sisy ?!" Francesco grits out.

"You have some guts huh." Matteo glared.

"You have moved fast to complimenting huh ?!" Massimo sneered.

"Q-uite bold of y-you." Galene mumbled, scoffing.

Meanwhile Xander he was staring at Nicolas with cold fire in his eyes.

Nicolas eyes widened as he realised what he just did, "I-I..just..I-I mean.."

"Fermare ! It's just a compliment." Valentina reasoned. She was both done & disbelief of how her dear brothers are reacting right now.

(Stop it !)

"Yeah..just a 'compliment' that he dared to give my sister right in front of my two fu*king eyes. Great !" Xander grumbled like a kid, his cold eyes throwing daggers at Nicolas who looked down at his plate which looked suddenly very-very interesting to his eyes right now.

"Xander !" Valentina scolded.

Just like that with Nicolas feeling heavy glares on him and Moretti brothers interrupting in between every time whenever Valentina tried to have a conversation with Nicolas peacefully--the lunch period come to an end.

Valentina stood up as bell rang as her eyes threw annoyed glares at her brothers who were hell bent on making her potentially new friend the most uncomfortable person in the world just by their dangerous glares.

They all walked out of the cafeteria and Valentina turned towards Nicolas.

"I hope we could have talked more without being interrupted every second of time, Nico." Valentina said while giving bombastic side-eyes to her brothers.

Nicolas just chuckled nervous in return, not daring to say a word that could possibly offend the intimatedating Moretti brothers.

He still can't believe he is breathing alive after being so near Valentina who is totally opposite of her brothers.

If Valentina is an angel then her brothers are devil spawns !

"Let's meet. I would like to know you better." Valentina offered, politely with a smile.

Nicolas would have happily accepted her offer if 5 brooding man wouldn't breathing down at his neck right now.

So he just nodded, once. Not accepting nor refusing it.

Meanwhile, Moretti brothers snapped their eyes at their sister like she said something out of blue nonsense.

The h*ll they will let it happen. If anything--they are going to interrupt their every moment with the most stupidest thing they could come up with.

"I-I should get going now, Tina." Nicolas said with a small smile.

Valentina nodded, "See you around, Nico." She added.

Nicolas hummed and turned around and took a step forward but halted, his fists clenching at his sides.

He turned around and Valentina asked, "Something wrong ?"

Nicolas gulped, "Maybe the thing which I am going to do next everything will be go down wrong--at least for me only."

Before anyone of them could understand Nicolas's words. He did something which left them in complete silence.

Nicolas HUGGED Valentina !!!

"Thank you-Thank you so much Tina and SORRY !!" Saying this Nicolas bolted from there like a fire caught his butt.

Moretti brothers snapped and before Valentina knew they were running behind Nicolas to catch him.

Valentina blinked and her eyes widened before she also took off after her brothers to save poor Nico.

As all of them ran in corridors, Nicolas who was trying to save himself from 5 wolves, Moretti brothers shouting at each other to catch their single prey as for Valentina--she realised something at that time and she whispered to herself with a smile grazing her lips.

"Looks like my high-school life is getting more interesting and I am already loving it."
