Alexia POV
Princess? She was pretty sure they had a very different idea about what a princess was. She got out of her chair and picked up her backpack. Leo rushed over to her and hugged her. She hugged him back. "Have a great day. You'll do fine, just be your amazing self." She smiled down at him. "I love you." He beamed back at her. "I love you too. Prove them wrong." He whispered back. She gave him a kiss on the forehead and walked away. She knew the Scrooges wouldn't wait for her. Outside a bright green Dodge Charger was idling with the sunroof down, the four Scrooges already seated leaving only the middle seat in the back free for her. Riccardo was behind the wheel and Dante was in the front passenger seat. Her cousins was in the back seat and didn't look like they had any intention of getting out and letting her get in. Alexia rolled her eyes and jumped over Antonio and squeezed herself down between him and Nico. She'd just barely sat down before Riccardo floored it and raced out of the estate. She somehow managed to get the seat belt on despite being squished between her two cousins that were clearly trying to take up all the room they could. The Scrooges were talking with each other about some party next weekend. About 30 minutes later Riccardo pulled over on the side of the road before twisting around looking at Alexia. "Get out." He sneered. "What?" Alexia asked stunned yet not really surprised over it. "I said get out." He repeated. "You can walk the rest of the way. It's right up the road." Alexia looked at him. He was serious. She took her seatbelt off, and stood up and walked over Nico making sure to step extra hard in his crotch. His grown of pain made her smile as she jumped down from the car, holding her own flinch in as she landed on the ground. The impact had sent shockwaves through her ribs and it hurt like a bitch. Riccardo sped off again. Alexia made a note to herself to fuck with something of theirs. Maybe draining their accounts would piss them off, donate all their money to a shelter for abused women or something. Backpack over her shoulder, she started walking in the same direction Riccardo had left in. It took her 10 minutes to walk the rest of the way to school.
When she walked through the parking lot of the school she kept her eyes on the entrance she was headed towards however out of the corners of her eyes, she was taking inventory of the people. Groups had congregated around each other at various luxurious cars. Each more flashy and expensive than the next. A group of jocks and cheerleaders were huddling around a bright pink BMW Roadster and a red Ford Mustang that was parked next to each other. A little ways away another group was surrounding Riccardo's Charger. It was clear to Alexia, the Scrooges were the kings of this school and other popular guys and girls were flocking around them. A girl was hanging all over Riccardo, shooting daggers at any other girl coming to close to him. Dante and Nico also had a girl hanging on them while Antonio seemed to keep the girls off him. Not that they didn't drool over him like the other three. A few other groups were scattered around the parking lot but with their uniforms it was hard to tell what cliche groups they belonged too. As she walked past each group, people took notice of her. Some of the guys even made comments such as "Who's the hot new chick?" and stuff like that. The more comments the guys muttered, the more the girls glared at her. Alexia sighed to herself. She was just making friends left and right already.
Inside the school wasn't much different. Smaller groups of people were scattered around the hallways. She assumed these groups were the nerds, the overachievers, the artsy and the theater kids. Less comments and death glares were made but she knew they were all following her with their eyes, their conversations stopping as she walked past their groups. Alexia walked straight ahead, she knew where the office was and didn't feel the need to look around. The door to the office was open so she just walked in. Inside, at the first desk sat a lady in her mid to late 50's if Alexia had to guess. She honestly looked like a stern librarian with her hair in a tight bun, not a strand of hair out of place and her glasses perched halfway down her nose. Her back was straight as she was typing on a keyboard in front of an old computer screen from the 90's. Alexia couldn't take her eyes of that screen. A private school were parents paid an arm and a leg and quite possibly a kidney in tuition couldn't even have a more modern screen. She dreaded thinking about how outdated the computer itself was. "Can I help you?" A voice drew Alexia out of her musings. She looked at the woman. Her voice sounded as stern as she looked. "Um. Yeah.." Alexia said trying to regain her senses. "I'm new, I was hoping to get my schedule." She said looking at the woman. "Name?" "Alexia Romano." The woman stopped typing and glanced at her. Alexia was sure she saw a flash of fear in the woman's eyes before she masked it and went back to typing something out on her computer. Seconds later the printer started spitting out papers. The stern non-librarian got out and walked over to the printer and grabbed the papers before walking over to the front desk that was between her and Alexia. "This is a map of the school." She began placing a piece of paper in front of Alexia. "This one will show you were you can find your locker, locker number, the current combination to the lock and instructions on how to change the code." She placed another piece of paper down. "This is the school rules, this is what we expect from our students and what happens if rules are broken and/or you fail to meet our expectations." She put several pieces of paper down this time. "And this is your schedule." She said placing the last piece of paper down. "You do need to pick two electives." She continued. "Here is a list of your options." She pulled out a green piece of paper from under the desk. "I will give you today to look it over and you can let me know. The ones that are crossed out is full and therefor you can not take them." Alexia looked over the list. Theater, Arts, Preforming Arts and all the sports the school offered were unsurprisingly crossed out. All but one of the visual arts offers were crossed out as well. "I'd like Jewelry design and computer programming please." Alexia said and gave the paper back to the stern woman. She looked taken aback. "Are you sure?" Alexia nodded. She didn't need to take all day to figure it out. "Once I have written it down there will be no going back." The woman warned. "I won't." Alexia stated firmly. "Alright." The woman said before pursing her lips tightly. "Jewelry design is Mondays and Wednesday's. Computer programming is Tuesdays and Thursdays. Do you have any questions?" She asked. Alexia shook her head no. "Alright. Get to class then." For the first time since getting it, Alexia looked at her schedule. Her first class was advanced math which made her raise an eyebrow. According to her transcripts, advanced math should be way beyond her knowledge. She looked over the rest of her schedule. All her classes were beyond what her transcripts told about her skills. She looked up at the stern woman who'd walked back behind her own desk. "Um. Are you sure this is my schedule?" She asked waving the paper a little. "Yes." The woman said. "Believe me I was surprised too based off your records but there is a note in my system telling me your family requested only advanced classes." She explained looking at Alexia with disdain. Alexia didn't bother saying anything else. Her class was on the 2nd floor she she started going that way. The hallways were empty as classes had started by the time she was done in the office. She got to the door and opened it only for 15 sets of eyes to turn her way. "Sorry I'm late." Alexia said looking at the teacher. He was a middle aged man with a potbelly and a big bald-spot. "You new?" The teacher asked. Alexia nodded. "Name?" "Alexia." She said. "Last name?" "Just Alexia." She stated. She'd noticed non of the papers she'd received from the office had her last name on it so she was banking on the teachers not having it either. The teacher studied her before pulling out some papers from his bag looking through them before stopping at one and then frowning. "Are you sure you're supposed to be in this class?" He asked looking at Alexia. "That's what my schedule says." She answered handing him her paper. He took it and looked it over, his eyes widening more and more as he studied her schedule. He then looked back at the paper he pulled out of his own bag and she realized it was her transcripts. Alexia watched as his eyes darted to her name and birthday, confirming it was the same person listed on both papers. He gave her, her schedule back. "I'll have to double check with the office but for now go ahead and have a seat in the back. Left chair at the left table is available." He said pointing in the direction. Alexia nodded and walked to the two empty tables in the back and sat down in the left chair at the left table. She wasn't surprised over his reaction, but she was annoyed with how he handled it with all the other students watching on. She felt eyes on her but Alexia thought these people were weird and overdramatic so she ignored it and paid attention to the board where the teacher was writing out a math problem. When he was almost done, the door bursted open and slammed against the door. Alexia's head snapped in that direction like everyone else. 3 guys walked in. She practically heard all the girls swoon over them and honestly, Alexia couldn't fault them. The 3 guys were good looking. They could easily rival her brothers and cousins in looks. Oh who was she kidding. They were hot and two of them were identical. None of them said anything or made apologies and the teacher looked like he wanted to strangle them. The twins walked over and sat down at the empty desk while the other guy walked over but froze as he was about to sit in the empty seat next to Alexia. Finally after 5 seconds he sat down. The teacher glared at them one more time before going back to finishing the problem on the board. He might have been able to fool the other students but Alexia detected a bit of fear in the man when he scowled at them making Alexia wonder what their background was. It couldn't possibly be worst than that of her own family. But of course the teacher didn't know Alexia was related to them. He hadn't asked and she wouldn't volunteer the information. "Mr. Castro, I assume since you and your friends are late you already know the answer to this problem." The teacher asked pointedly after he was done writing it. The class fell into a complete silence. No one moved and it seemed like no one dated to even breath. "How would I know." The guy next to Alexia said. Alexia had to practically yell at herself for almost swooning over his voice. Get a damn grip Alexia. She chided herself. She didn't have time, nor did she want anything to do with boys. "What about you Mr. Black? Either one of you." The teacher continued looking towards the twins this time. Alexia wasn't sure anyone in the class would be able to answer the problem on the board. It was way above their grade even if they were an advanced class. "69?" One of the twins said earning himself some chuckles from some of the guys that clearly heard the innuendo in his voice. The chuckles clearly annoyed the teacher. "What about you Miss Just Alexia." He gritted out through his teeth. Before Alexia could even answer a sugary sweet voice pipes up. "Excuse me Professor Hemming. Perhaps you should ask someone that will actually know the answer." Alexia looked towards the voice. A blonde, clearly dyed, sat at the table. Her blazer hung over her chair and the top three buttons of her white shirt was undone revealing her lacy bra. She'd been sending Alexia death stares ever since the guy sat down next to her. And the girl besides the blonde had been no better. "Miss Evans. By all means." The teacher said sarcastically gesturing with his arm for her to go ahead and come up and solved it. The blonde stood up with a smug smirk on her caked up face before straightening out her uniform skirt that was definitely too small for the guidelines. She swayed her hips exaggeratedly and Alexia could tell it took everything in her to not turn around and see which boys were checking her out. Alexia glanced around and while a lot of the guys were indeed checking her out, the three sets of eyes the blonde most likely wanted on her, were anywhere but on her. It amused Alexia greatly. The blonde had been so confident but by the time she'd stopped in front of the board her shoulders had slumped and she hesitated with picking up the dry erase marker. "You can start at any time, Miss Evans." The teacher said sounding annoyed. Several moment passed in silence. "You don't know how to solve this do you?" He sneered. Alexia didn't like blondie, but she also didn't like this teacher who clearly thought his shit didn't stink. "I'm not surprised none of you know how to solve it." The teacher finally said. "Go sit down Miss Evans." Blondie's shoulders slumped as she walked back to her seat. "This is a problem that has been unanswered for years but was recently solved by a genius in Denmark." He explained. "The genius made a statement saying there are six solutions. No one knows who this genius is and the creators behind the problem is frantically looking for the one responsible for this sensation." The teacher explained this time sounding excited. The left corner of Alexia's mouth twitched but otherwise she remained passive. "I will leave this one on the board and anyone that can come up with a different solution than the one the genius has posted, will be excused from any of my remaining classes and I will pass you with highest achievements." The teacher declared proudly. "Now open your books to page 241 and lets begin."
