Aegis's P.o.v

"A FAE??” I nod grimly more to myself than anyone else. Noah leans back in his chair, rubbing his jaw. “Fae don’t just show up, Aegis.” “Exactly,” Emery agrees. “They only appear when something big in history is about to happen.” I scowl. “Great. Just what we need. More complications.” But there’s no time for this now. The elder rogue is rotting in our basement, waiting for his turn. Talia is recovering in the hospital. We need to run some errands and get some things done for the pack. There are too many things that need handling. Answers will come later. “We'll find out what it means later. But for now...” I say with a smile. "Let's go." They know what I mean. We all rise from our seats and headed to the basement. He looks miserable, tied to a steel chair with his arms strapped down so tightly his skin is turning purple. His face is already swollen from the first few rounds, his breath shallow and uneven. The metallic scent of his wretched blood is thick in the air. Noah cracks his knuckles and rolled his shoulders in preparation. “Who’s first?” Zach steps forward without hesitation and picks up a blade from the table. “I’ve been in a bad mood all week.” The rogue lifts his chin, smirking despite the blood dripping down his face. “You think you scare me, pup?” Zach grins. “No. But this will.” He brings the knife down, slow and deliberate, slicing just deep enough into the rogue’s thigh to make him scream. The room fills with the raw sound of agony. Emery takes the next turn, pressing a heated iron against the rogue’s ribs. The sickening sizzle of burning flesh makes even Noah grimace. The rogue’s screams turn into ragged gasps. Sweat drips from his face. “You’re all going to pay for this,” he spits weakly. I step forward. “No we won't.” He looks up at me, and for the first time, I see fear in his eyes. I set the vials in my leather bag down on the table, one by one, letting him hear the soft clink of glass against metal. His breathing grows shallower. “Five years ago,” I say, swirling a mixture together, “you gave the order to destroy the Nightwisp Pack.” He stills. Then, after a moment, he lets out a short, breathy laugh. “Ah. That one.” He tilts his head, pretending to think. “I remember now. Got paid a mighty sum for that.” My grip tightens on the vial. I smile.“Who paid you?” His smirk stretches wider. “The Beta of BlackThorn or should I say Your father.” The room goes silent. I don’t react. Not externally. I already knew that. I made peace with that truth a long time ago. What I don't know is if anyone else was involved. If Elias was involved. I pour the final liquid into a syringe and glance at Noah. “How do you think it feels to be melted alive?” He shrugs. “No clue.” I smile. “Guess we’re about to find out.” The rogue thrashes against the restraints. “Wait...” Noah punches him square in the mouth. Blood and a few teeth splatter onto the ground. I shake my head mockingly. “I said I wanted to be the one to destroy him.” The rogue is sobbing now. “Please. I’ll tell you everything. I swear.” I raise an eyebrow. “Oh?” He chokes out an address. “There’s a flash drive. It has names. Locations. Everything.” I press my earpiece. “Did you get that?” A voice crackles through soon enough. “Yes Alpha. We've secured it.” The rogue sobs in relief. “See? I helped. Please....” I unsheath my dagger. In one swift motion, I slice at little hindownward. Blood spurts. A shriek fills the room. “Snitches get stitches,” I whisper. He’s trembling and barely able to form words. “You... My Penis...you cut my dick... But you said..you said you wouldn’t kill me.” I tilt my head. “No. I didn’t.” I glance at the guys. They nod. I drive the needle into his neck. The effect is instant. I have frankly never seen anything so beautiful. His veins turn black. His skin bubbles. His screams turn into something inhuman as his body liquefies before our eyes. And then, there’s nothing left but a puddle. I wipe my hands on a cloth, then turn to the others. Elias leaves us to go to Talia while we go to the boardroom. The warriors came in soon enough with the flashdrive. "Leave us." Noah takes it from him and uploads it. " Oh my God." "What the hell?" "Woww." The list of people on the list were fucking unimaginable. Alphas, Beta's, high ranking officials. With this flashdrive we could destroy the entire werewolf order system but that's not the goal. "What do we do?" "Find Elias's name." "Found it." "Copy it and release it worldwide. We have to cause some havoc to the back first to lure them out of their safe places." "Yes Alpha." “Phase one is officially ompleted.” Noah announced with a final clip. They nod. Now, time to go see Talia. The hospital room she was in was green. I can't stand white ones and that was one of the first things I put in place when I became Alpha. We enter to find Talia sitting up in bed, fully healed and arguing with Elias. “Will you just listen for once?” Talia snaps. “You were being reckless,” Elias fires back. “Do you think I enjoyed seeing you bleeding out?” I step between them. “Enough.” They both glare at me. I cross my arms. “Elias, you’re in the wrong here. She did nothing wrong.” His brows shoot up. “Since when are you on her side?” I smirk. “Since she became my friend.” Elias gapes at me. “You don’t have friends.” I shrug. “I do now.” He exhales sharply andcrund a hand through his hair. “You know what.. Whatever.” He storms out. Talia huffs. “Drama queen.” I shake my head, but I can’t help but smile. “So. What now?” Talia’s face lights up. “We’re going clubbing.” I blink. “No, we’re not.” “Yes, we are.” “No, we’re not.” She grins. “ Is the Alpha scared?” I scowl at that . “Absolutely not.” Talia tilts her head. “Then prove it.” Damn it. No matter what they tell you, let me tell you this...Friends are the worst. We get dressed and came down the stairs. This wasn't my idea by the way, Talia says she wants her moment and proceeded to pulled me with her. We came down the stairs and I swear all their jaws dropped. I have never seen anything like it. I was wearing a black short sheath dress. Talia was in red and she looked smoking hot. The guys all look away but Noah continues to stare at me. "Are you going to just stand there and gawk?" I ask him. "Yes." "Well, stop it. You look stupid." The club is packed. Music pounds through the air, lights flashing across the dance floor. Talia and I are dressed to kill. The guys are with us, acting like overprotective bodyguards. Elias and Talia made up on the way here. She’s all over him now, and he looks like he’s about to die of happiness. We dance. We drink. For the first time in a long time, I let myself breathe. Then, around 3 AM, it occurs to us to actually take a photo. That’s when we see the missed calls. Brianna has called each and every of our phones over a dozen times. Noah calls her back and she picks on the first ring. “Where the hell are you guys?” She bit out sharply. He rubs his ear. “Damn, Bri. Calm down.” She snaps, “Get back to the pack. Now.” I frown and took the phone from him. “What’s wrong Brianna?” I ask very calm and alert now. “The King is here,” Brianna says. “And he’s not happy.”
