Agni pov :



" Truth is I hated when your papa slapped him. He was already in pain. Why didn't anyone stop him ? "

I couldn't control myself from asking.

" Because he is not only my papa. He considers Dheera as his own son even though he is his brother's. Can I tell you a secret ? "

Her words makes me thrill to hear more. I nodded eagerly.

" In my whole family , Papa loves Dheera the most. "

I can't believe her words.

" If he loves him the most , then why did he slap him. "

I snapped at her.

" Because it's his duty to make him correct when he does something wrong. Dheera is exactly like papa. No one could ever control him. He listens to only one person. That is papa. Because Dheera respects him a lot. "

She said. I felt a little stinge in my stomach for disrespecting the person whom dheera respects the most. No ! I didn't disrespect him. I was just trying to defend Dheera. That's it.

" But He did nothing wrong. "

I didn't want to sound defending. But it came that way.

" May be it's not his mistake. But it's his responsibility. To take care of his mom. He promised that he would take care of chachi when they moved on to Mumbai."

Her every words untie every truth. I wanted to know more.

" I didn't expect that your papa will easily let me in. To see Ishu. "

I said. And I immediately realised my mistake.

" Ishu ? "

She asked in bulged out eyes.

I stared at her in an embarrassment.

" I am sorry. "

I apologised. Ishu is her chachi. Might be she gets offended.

But she burst out laughing. I looked at her with weird eyes.

" I knew I like you. Tell me , you always call her like that ? I mean , in front of Dheera also ? "

She asked with the same teasy laugh.

" You know what , he never liked me calling his mom Ishu. We fought thousands of times because of this. But , nowadays , he isn't arguing about that. I think he used to this my habit. And one more thing , Ishu loves that when I call her like that. We are like best friends. "

I said with most excited face.

" I know. "

She said.

" How do you know ? "

I asked in confusion.

" What do you think about how papa will let you in to visit chachi so easily ? "

Her words suddenly striked me.

" Dheera. He convinced papa. He explained everything about you. How you and chachi so close to each other. How you took care of her in her difficult times. How friendly you both are ? How cahchi admire you and love you ? Then only papa agreed to let you meet chachi. "

I was literally staring at her in disbelief. He convinced his family to make me meet Ishu ? He cared about my feelings ? He could have refused me . He might have ignored me or ordered me to not meet his mom at this serious situation. Because everyone knew this is not a normal accident. Someone perfectly planned to attack Ishu. Even in this tough situation, he believed me. He stand by me. That somehow touched me so deeper than I thought.

" Did he tell that ... I am an or.... "

I asked with hesitation.

" We know. "

She said.

" He trusted me ? "

I asked with Little breaking voice.

" Do you doubt that ? "

She asked by lifting my chin up to look at her eyes.

I shook my head steadily.

" It's really surprising. Even to papa. He is not like a person who trust or befriend everyone. He is so territorial. He allows very very limited persons in his personal space.... And "

My eyes widened at her stop.

" He allowed you into that personal space of him. He trusted you with his mom. "

I don't know why but I don't want to believe her words even though they made an immense effect on every part of mine that I don't want to feel. No.

" He is doing everything only because Ishu trusts me. She loves me. Treats me like her own daughter. And he believes his mom. "

The words itself sour to my tongue.

" If you think that way ,then may be. "

She said.

I slowly sat down on the empty chair. My eyes fall on Calm face of Ishu.

" She is still beautiful, right ? "

Even though with all the bruises and bandages. My blood boils on seeing her like this.

She hummed from my behind.

I took Ishu's hand into mine. And kissed them gently. Unknowingly, the tears burst out from my eyes.

" She doesn't deserve this . "

I said.

" Papa and Dheera won't let it go so easily. "

I know.

I felt a sensation in my hands.

" Ishu .. "

I saw her fingers moving upon mine.

" Chachi .... "

Aarya di walked closer to us.

Ishu's eyelids shivered a little. And gradually opened.

I looked at Aarya di. We both smiled at each other.

Ishu's eyes find mine.

" Agni ... "

Her voice is so light and low.

But she made it.

I held her hand firmer and kissed them twice.

" Chachi , are you feeling better ? Do you feel pain anywhere ? "

Aarya di asked with concern.

" Aarya , my gudiya . I am fine."

Ishu smiled a little at her.

Aarya di said and moved back to call her parents .

I saw her running out of the room in happiness.

Ishu looked at me with smiling face.

" I am sorry Ishu. I should have attended your call. But why do you leave at the late night. You could have waited at least until the next morning. I am so angry on you. "

I said to her in a worried face, trying to act like little angry. But I failed immensely.

" Sorry Agni. Something came up. I couldn't resist. But I didn't expect this would have happen. "

She said.

" You know , he was so scared. "

I said.

" I know.... And where is he ? "

Ishu asked.

The door jerked open.

" Mom ! "

Dheera walked in with heavy steps.

" Dheera ! "

Ishu's eyes burst out into tears.

" Mom "

I moved aside to let him. He sat across the bed and wrapped his body around his mom in a gentle soothing hug.

They have their precious moments.

His bade papa and bade ma entered into the room with Aarya di and his friend.

" I am so sorry mom. I am sorry. I shouldn't have let you go alone. I should have more careful. I am sorry. "

His words are shattering at every stage. He is trying not to break but he does. For his mother.

Ishu lift her hand back to his hair and slowly patted them.

" I am fine Dheera. Nothing happened to me. Your mom is here. With you. "

Ishu said very slowly.

After few moments, he carefully moved back from her. Ishu's eyes fall on his bade papa.

" Bhai ... "

Ishu said as he walked closer to her along with his wife.

" You should have more careful Ishani. Atleast you should have let me know before coming to Delhi. "

His words isn't like before. They are showing the care and concern for her. Giving the meaning to the word Ishu called him 'Bhai '.

His family is in Delhi. But Ishu and Dheera only stay in Mumbai. Away from them .

Ishu came to Delhi . But didn't let her family know about her visiting. Why ?

" Ishani , do you feel any pain ? "

His bade ma asked.

" No di. I feel little weak and dizzy. That's it."

Ishu said.

" I talked to doctor. We are moving you to our house tomorrow. I don't think hospital is safe too. "

His bade papa said like an order.

" I will take .... "

Before dheera could complete his sentence,

" That's final. "

His bade papa said in a authoritative voice. I would be lied if I say that didn't shook me totally.

There is no words coming out after that.

He might be right. Even though, we have a separate floor , The hospital is full of guards and securities , it is not safe. We can't take risks.

The doctor came inside. He checked Ishu once.

" As you said, you can take her to your house. I will arrange for a personal nurse and the transfer procedures along well , Mr.Sherawat."

His bade papa nodded. And the doctor left.

With lots of courage, I try to say something,

" Sir , if you don't mind , can I be her personal nurse ? "

Everyone's eyes widen in shock.

I really wanted to be there for Ishu. This is my only chance to be with her. Because they are going to shift her to his house. In Delhi. That means, I can't meet her like I did in Mumbai. I can't see her. I need permissions to even talk to her. How can I accept that ?

" What makes you think that I will allow you ? And Miss the young lady , can you tell me what your age is ?"

He asked seriously. My age !!!

Why the hell everyone is obsessed with my age.

" 17 "

I said.

For a second , his eyes really widened in full of shock. His eyes met Dheera behind me.

A small smirk arose across the old man's lips. And I could literally feel the burning gaze on my neck.

" I know. I am so young. But I am studying medicine. Even though I am in my first year, I was in charge for hospitals in night shifts to take care of patients. I am well practised to be a nurse and deserved too. Most importantly , I was taking care of her health for a month. "

I said in one go.

I wanted to return my favour by taking care of Ishu. I can't leave her at this situation. I won't miss my last chance.

" I trust her , Bhai. "

Ishu said in a weak voice. I feel so proud at the moment.

The old man's eyes again met Dheera's. Then silently he went out. Without saying anything ! Dheera followed him behind.

I looked at them in frustration.

" Ishu , I won't sacrifice my rights of taking care of you to anyone. "

I said to Ishu in a proud smile.

Ishu showed me the same beautiful smile.

" Then , you are Agni , right ? "

Another voice echoed behind me.

The lady of the house !

I thought she is sweet . Not I hate her. She protested me from coming in.

I keep a stern face and said.

" Yes. I am Agni. "

" Ohhh ! You are truly looking like an angel. Ishani , you are so right. "

Shock !

The woman came forward towards me and hugged me tightly.

I couldn't even react . I was frozen at my place.

" What happened beta ? "

She asked. I stared at her in my wide eyes.

" Did you ... Just hugged me ? "

I asked like an idiot.

" I ... I mean ... You didn't allow me to see her before. But now ... "

I am still confused.

" Because, mom saved you. She stopped you before my papa could say something that would hurt you. "

Aarya di said .

Then I realised what she did. She tried to help me. I misunderstood her.

I nodded in sense.

" Mom , it's getting late. If you are ready , I will drop you at home. "

His friend opened his mouth after long time.

Aarya's maa looked at him and said

" Zaheer, I will stay with Ishani tonight. Sarah ( Aarya's daughter ) needs Aarya. She has to go home."

Her mom said.

" No maa , your health is not good. You can't stay in hospital. And bua said she will take care of Sarah for tonight. "

Aarya di explained.

" If you don't mind , I will stay with Ishu tonight. I will take care of her. "

I offered.

Everyone looked at me.

" No Agni. You look so tired. You go home and take a rest. Devika di and Aarya , you too go home. It's just one night. Doctors and nurses are here. I can manage. "

Ishu said suddenly. We all looked at ishu in disagreement.

" Aarya , Sarah is a little baby. I guess you are here from the morning. You need to go home. And that's final.

Devika di , your health is just now recovering slowly. You can't trouble yourself. I would feel bad if you.

Zaheer ... "

" Devika and Aarya , go to home. That girl will stay with Ishani tonight. "

Once the words came out , no one say anything.

He walked closer to Ishu and said

" Take good rest. We will come tomorrow morning and get you to our home. "

Ishu nodded at him.

Seems like he will agree for my offer to take care of Ishu. I felt happy from inside.

Aarya di came towards me and whispered slowly.

" Don't get over excited, Agni . Papa is testing you. All the best. "

Then I understood what he is playing.

Devika aunt and Aarya Said good night to Ishu. And they left with Rudra uncle and Zaheer, his friend.

Once everyone left the room , my eyes fall on the specific person who is standing beside Ishu.

Suddenly I felt too closer to him. Too alone with him. His eyes fixed into mine.

Another night. With him. Alone in this room.

" You both terribly need rest. "

Ishu's voice drag us out of my delusion.

" We are fine Ishu. Tell me , are you hungry ?"

I asked. Because , I am hell starving. I didn't eat anything from the last night.

Ishu think for a few seconds.

" Please Ishu , say yes. Orelse I will die in hunger. Your son will buy food only if you say yes. "

I almost begged her.

" Ahh ... Agni , why didn't you eat anything. And Dheera , this is how you take care of her. See , how starving my baby is. Go and buy some food immediately. "

Ishu said in a authoritative tone even though she is completely weak.

" Mom , I didn't have food too. Why is she stating like because of me , she is hungry. "

He said in a frustrated tone.

" Stop complaining like a kid Dheera. Go and buy , for you too. "

Once Ishu said , he left the room with few more cusses. Ofcourse about me.
