Two days had passed since Calypso had moved in with the Heelers, and it already felt like she’d always been there. Her presence blended seamlessly into the household. She wasn’t just a guest; she had become a part of their lives. Calypso’s nurturing spirit made caring for Y/N second nature. She played with him, burped him after feedings, and even changed his diapers when needed. Though not his mother, her affection for him was undeniable, and Y/N had taken to her just as quickly.

Today was a quiet day. Chilli was at work, and Rosie had a doctor’s appointment. Since Y/N couldn’t go, Calypso stayed home to watch him, grateful for the chance to spend more time with the baby.

As sunlight streamed through the windows, Y/N slept peacefully in his crib while Calypso stood in the kitchen, finishing the dishes.

Suddenly, she heard rustling from the living room, followed by a small cry that soon grew louder.

Calypso: “Here we go,” she murmured, drying her hands before walking over to the crib.

She scooped Y/N into her arms, his cries quieting almost immediately.

Calypso: “Shhh, Auntie Calypso is here,” she cooed, rocking him gently. Y/N’s distressed face softened, and when his eyes met hers, he broke into a toothless grin.

Calypso: “There’s that smile,” she laughed softly, bouncing him lightly on her hip. “But I hope your grandma gets home soon—don’t want you getting too hungry on my watch.”

Y/N stared up at her, curious as ever. Calypso tickled his belly, drawing giggles from him.

Calypso: “I wish you were mine,” she said softly, then smiled. “But being your auntie is pretty great too.”

After pacing with him for a bit, Calypso sat down on the couch, cradling Y/N against her chest.

Calypso: “What should we do now, hmm? Can’t have you getting bored on me.”

Y/N yawned, fighting sleep. Calypso chuckled, stroking his back.

Calypso: “How about a little walk outside? Some fresh air might do us both some good.”

She wrapped him in a blanket and carefully stepped outside, greeted by a gentle breeze and the sound of birds chirping. As she strolled down the path, Y/N’s eyes widened at the world around him.

Calypso: “Look at all that, little one,” she said, smiling. “Isn’t it beautiful?”

Y/N cooed in response, his head turning to take in the sights.

Calypso: “You really love it out here, don’t you?” she mused, watching his fascination. “Maybe we should do this more often.”

They walked for a while before finding a bench under a tree, where Calypso sat down, holding Y/N close.

Calypso: “You know,” she whispered, gazing down at him, “life gets busy, but moments like this… they remind me to slow down.”

Y/N blinked sleepily, and before long, his eyes closed as he drifted off in her arms.

Calypso: “There you go,” she whispered. “Sleep tight, little one.”

She sat quietly, savoring the moment as the world seemed to slow down around them.

As Calypso sat in the quiet park, the gentle breeze rustling the leaves above her and birds chirping in the distance, she felt an overwhelming sense of peace. She wasn’t Y/N’s mother, but in this moment, she felt like she was exactly where she was meant to be—holding him, caring for him, and loving him in her own way as his auntie. It filled her with contentment, a warmth that spread through her heart.

For a long while, Calypso simply enjoyed the tranquility while Y/N slept soundly in her arms. Time seemed to slip away, each minute stretching out beautifully, and nothing else mattered but the warmth of the sun, the soft sounds of nature, and the steady breathing of the baby resting against her.

Eventually, she knew they’d have to head back before Rosie returned, but Calypso wasn’t in any hurry. She savored every second of this peaceful moment.

After an hour of sitting, she carefully stood up with Y/N still asleep in her arms and began walking home. Ten minutes later, she arrived just as Rosie was pulling into the driveway.

Rosie: "It seems you two had a fun day."

Calypso chuckled softly.

Calypso: "Yeah, well, I couldn’t keep him cooped up in the house all day. Took him out for some fresh air, and let me tell ya, this boy loves being outside."

Rosie smiled as she got out of the car.

Rosie: "Is that so? Well, that’s good to hear. Has he gotten hungry yet?"

Calypso shook her head.

Calypso: "No, he’s been asleep for a while, but I have a feeling he’s going to wake up soon, probably hungry."

Rosie: "Then I’m glad I got back when I did. I’d hate for you to be stuck with a crying baby and no food!"

They both laughed lightly as they walked into the house together. Calypso sat down with Y/N still cradled in her arms, while Rosie headed upstairs.

Rosie: "I’ll be back in a minute or two. I just need to change before I breastfeed him since he always spills milk all over my clothes."

Calypso chuckled as Rosie disappeared up the stairs.

Calypso: "That’s fine, I’ll keep him company."

Rosie reappeared a few minutes later, having changed into just a bra, ready to nurse Y/N.

Rosie: "Alright, let’s get this little one fed."

Calypso looked up and blushed after seeing Rosie just in her bra and no panties and then turned away from her

Rosie:"No need to be embarrassed, dear. I'm sure you've seen me half-naked around this house a few times when you were younger. We're all women here-well, except for that little bundle of joy in your arms. Sooner or later, we all end up seeing someone's body at some point."

Calypso looks back at her, still blushing but no longer embarrassed. She's only wearing a bra and no panties.

Calypso: "Yeah, you're right. I mean, I kinda saw Chilli without her bra last night. I went to ask her something, and she was sleeping like that. I didn't mean to peep or anything. I stepped right out."

They both chuckle softly at the memory.

Rosie: "See? No harm in it. Honestly, I wouldn't even mind if you walked around naked. My curtains are always closed, so you don't have to worry about anyone outside seeing you."

Calypso: "I don't know about that, but I'll think about it." They share a light laugh, but it's interrupted by the soft stirring of Y/N waking up, and he's not happy.

Rosie: "Time to feed him."

Rosie takes Y/N from Calypso's arms, sits down, and begins breastfeeding him. Calypso blushes slightly at the sight.

Calypso: "Well, I'll let you finish feeding him. I'm heading to my room to rest. If you need anything, just knock on my door."

Rosie: "Alright, dear. I'll see you later for dinner."

Calypso nods and heads upstairs. A few minutes later, Chilli pulls into the driveway. She walks in and sees her mom on the couch, breastfeeding Y/N, half-naked as usual.

Chilli: "Mom, why are you half-naked while feeding my baby?"

She asks, not surprised at all, having grown up with her mother's casual attitude.

Rosie: "Wearing pants all day can be uncomfortable, and it's hot in here. Besides, it's just us women, and Y/N is too young to remember any of this."

Chilli: "I guess you're right, but please try to keep things more... covered up when he's older. I don't want him seeing all this."

Rosie: "Eh, that's gonna be tough in a house full of women."

Chilli sighs, realizing her mother is probably right.

Chilli: "So, where's Calypso?"

Rosie: "She went to her room to rest a few minutes ago."

Chilli: "Gotcha. Well, I'll start cooking dinner since you're still feeding him."

Rosie nods as Chilli heads into the kitchen to start dinner. After a few more minutes of breastfeeding, Y/N finishes, and Rosie gently lifts him to her shoulder to burp him. She pats his back until she hears a small burp, smiling softly. Once he's comfortable, Rosie carefully places him in his crib.

Rosie then joins Chilli in the kitchen to help with dinner.

As Rosie enters the kitchen, she sees Chilli busily chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients for dinner. The air is thick with the smell of garlic and onions sautéing in the pan. Rosie walks over, tying her hair back, and begins to wash her hands in preparation to help.

Rosie: "So, what’s on the menu tonight?"

Chilli: "I thought I’d make something simple—pasta with a fresh tomato sauce and some garlic bread. It’s quick, and I think we’re all tired after today."

Rosie nods, knowing how exhausting a day with a newborn can be, especially when they all take turns caring for him.

Rosie: "That sounds perfect. I can make the sauce while you handle the pasta."

They fall into a comfortable rhythm, moving around each other with practiced ease, a silent understanding between mother and daughter. The gentle clinking of pots and pans and the sizzling of the food fill the room as they work together.

After a few minutes, Chilli speaks up.

Chilli: "Mom, do you think Calypso's doing okay? I mean, with everything going on lately... I know she’s been helping out a lot, but I worry she’s taking on too much."

Rosie stirs the pot of sauce, glancing over at her daughter thoughtfully.

Rosie: "I think she’s doing better than she realizes. But it wouldn’t hurt to check in on her later. She’s always been strong, but sometimes strong people forget they need to take a break too."

Chilli nods, her brow furrowed slightly.

Chilli: "Yeah, maybe I’ll go talk to her after dinner. She’s been a huge help with Y/N, but I don’t want her to feel like she has to be."

Rosie smiles softly at Chilli’s concern.

Rosie: "You two have always looked out for each other. I’m sure she appreciates everything you do for her, too."

The conversation lulls as they focus back on preparing dinner, the smell of fresh herbs and rich tomato sauce wafting through the kitchen. After a while, the food is ready, and Rosie helps Chilli set the table. The plates are stacked high with pasta, and a basket of warm garlic bread is placed in the center. They both glance toward the stairs, wondering if Calypso will be joining them.

Rosie: "I’ll go check on her. She might have fallen asleep, knowing how tired she was earlier."

Rosie heads up the stairs and gently knocks on Calypso’s door. There’s no response at first, but after a moment, she hears a soft "Come in."

Rosie opens the door to find Calypso lying on her bed, looking tired but not quite asleep. Her eyes flicker up to meet Rosie’s, and she offers a small smile.

Rosie: "Dinner’s ready, sweetie. You feeling up for joining us?"

Calypso sits up slowly, stretching her arms above her head.

Calypso: "Yeah, I think I’ll come down. Just needed a little break, that’s all."

Rosie steps inside and sits on the edge of the bed.

Rosie: "You’ve been doing a lot lately. Don’t forget to take care of yourself too, okay?"

Calypso nods, her expression softening as she looks down at her hands.

Calypso: "I know, I just… I don’t want to feel like I’m not doing enough, you know? Especially with Y/N here. I want to help out as much as I can."

Rosie places a hand on Calypso’s shoulder, giving her a reassuring squeeze.

Rosie: "You’ve been a huge help, Calypso. But Chilli and I both want you to take breaks when you need them. We’re a team, remember? No one’s expecting you to do it all."

Calypso looks up at her, the tension in her shoulders easing a bit.

Calypso: "Thanks, Rosie. I guess I just needed to hear that."

Rosie smiles warmly before standing up.

Rosie: "Now come on, before the food gets cold."

Calypso chuckles softly and stands, following Rosie downstairs to the dining room where Chilli is already seated. The table looks inviting, and the three of them gather around, sharing a meal together in the quiet comfort of family.

As they eat, the conversation flows naturally, touching on light topics like old memories, movies they’ve watched recently, and future plans. Every now and then, the sound of Y/N stirring from the crib in the next room reaches their ears, but he remains peacefully asleep for the most part.

Chilli: "You know, I was thinking—once Y/N is a bit older, maybe we could take a little trip together. Just the three of us. It would be nice to get away for a while."

Rosie raises an eyebrow in amusement.

Rosie: "You think you’ll have the energy for a trip with a toddler running around?"

Chilli laughs, shaking her head.

Chilli: "Okay, maybe not a trip right away. But someday. It’s just something to look forward to."

Calypso smiles at the thought.

Calypso: "That sounds fun. I’ve always wanted to visit the mountains again, like when we were younger."

Rosie nods, her expression thoughtful.

Rosie: "That was a good trip. We’ll plan something when the time is right."

The rest of the evening passes in a warm, relaxed atmosphere. After dinner, they clean up together and then settle into the living room. Chilli takes Y/N into her arms, gently rocking him back and forth as she hums a soft lullaby. Calypso sits next to her on the couch, watching quietly with a soft smile on her face.

Rosie leans back in her chair, watching the scene unfold with a peaceful expression. It’s moments like these that remind her of the beauty of family—the unspoken support, the shared responsibilities, and the quiet, tender moments of connection.

As the night grows darker, the conversation begins to wind down, and soon it’s time for bed. Chilli takes Y/N upstairs, tucking him into his crib before heading to her own room. Rosie and Calypso linger in the living room for a few more minutes, the silence between them comfortable and familiar.

Rosie: "You heading up to bed?"

Calypso nods, stifling a yawn.

Calypso: "Yeah, I think I’m ready to call it a night."

Rosie stands up, stretching her arms over her head.

Rosie: "Same here. Sleep well, Calypso."

Calypso smiles at her as they both head upstairs, parting ways at the top of the stairs.

Calypso: "Goodnight, Rosie."

Rosie: "Goodnight, dear."

As Calypso enters her room and closes the door behind her, she feels a sense of calm wash over her. The day had been long, but it had also been filled with moments of connection, laughter, and quiet support. She climbs into bed, pulling the covers up around her, and closes her eyes.

The house falls into a peaceful silence, the only sound the gentle rustle of the wind outside and the occasional soft murmur from Y/N’s room. Wrapped in the warmth of her family’s love, Calypso drifts off to sleep, ready to face whatever the next day might bring.
