The air in KMA was thick with anticipation. After weeks of investigation and painstakingly piecing together fragments of information, Naina and her team were closing in on the truth. But they were running out of time. The longer they waited, the more they felt the shadow of danger looming over them.

The tension among the cadets was palpable. Everyone knew that the battle wasn’t just about finding the truth; it was about surviving the storm that would follow once they uncovered it. And the truth they were after wasn’t just about Lala Gehlot or Major Bhargav; it was about something far more dangerous.

Naina stood at the front of the war room, her hands gripping the edge of the table. She looked at each of her friends, her comrades, who had become like family. Amar, Yudi, Pooja, Ali, and Aalekh were all there, their faces etched with concern. But the one who had been the most silent in the past few days was Rajveer. His usual calm and composed demeanor seemed strained. She had seen him battling inner demons, but she didn’t know what he was hiding.

"We’re so close, but we need more information," Naina said, breaking the silence. "Lala’s involvement is only part of the puzzle. We know he was working with someone higher up. But who?"

"We’ve already gone through every lead," Ali said, frustration seeping into his voice. "If there’s a bigger player, we haven’t found them yet."

Naina looked at Rajveer, who was standing by the window, staring out into the distance. He hadn’t spoken much in the last few days, and Naina couldn’t shake the feeling that he knew something they didn’t. Something important.

"Rajveer," Naina called, her voice softer than usual. "What’s going on? You’ve been distant."

Rajveer turned to face her, his eyes tired but determined. "It’s nothing," he said, trying to mask the weight in his voice. "I’m just focused on the mission."

But Naina wasn’t convinced. She had seen the look in his eyes before—the same one he had when he had been dealing with his own demons after the explosion. She knew there was more to his words, and she could sense that he was holding something back.

Before she could press further, Aalekh spoke up. "Naina, we need to get to the bottom of this now. We can’t wait any longer. The more we delay, the more dangerous it gets."

Naina nodded. "I know. But we need one more breakthrough. We need to find someone who has access to everything—the person who’s been orchestrating all of this from the shadows."

Just then, the door to the war room opened with a creak. Everyone turned to see Captain Abhimanyu Rai Chauhan walking in, a grim expression on his face. He was a former colleague of both Rajveer and Naveen, and someone they all trusted.

"I have something," he said, his voice low. "I’ve been investigating on my own, and I think I’ve found something that might help."

He stepped forward, placing a folder on the table. Naina immediately opened it, scanning through the documents and photographs. Her heart skipped a beat as she recognized a familiar face in the pictures—Colonel Shakti Chandra. The same Colonel who had been a mentor to Rajveer and Naveen during their time in the academy.

"Shakti Chandra?" Naina murmured, her voice trembling. "But he’s been out of the game for years."

"Exactly," Abhimanyu said. "That’s what I thought, too. But there are connections between him and Lala Gehlot. I believe he’s been orchestrating everything from behind the scenes."

"But why?" Rajveer asked, his voice laced with disbelief. "Why would Shakti Chandra do this? He was always loyal to the academy."

Abhimanyu’s face tightened. "It’s not about loyalty. It’s about power. Chandra wanted to control KMA, and he was willing to use anyone, even the ones closest to him, to get what he wanted."

Naina felt the weight of his words. "But why involve Naveen and Rajveer? What did they have to do with it?"

Abhimanyu hesitated, his eyes flickering with something Naina couldn’t quite place. "That’s what we don’t know yet. But I believe they were more than just pawns in his game. They were part of his bigger plan—something we need to figure out before it’s too late."

Naina’s heart raced as the pieces began to fit together. "We need to find Chandra. Now."

The team wasted no time. They knew the stakes had never been higher. As they moved out, Naina couldn’t help but glance at Rajveer, who had fallen silent again. She could sense the turmoil in him, but this was not the time to confront him. Not when they had so much to lose.

The operation to find Colonel Shakti Chandra took them deep into the outskirts of the city, to an old abandoned building that had once been a military outpost. The silence was deafening as they approached, the air thick with uncertainty. Every step they took felt like a step closer to the truth—and yet, it also felt like they were walking into a trap.

Naina’s instincts screamed at her to be careful. She motioned for the team to be on high alert. "Stay sharp," she whispered. "This could be a setup."

They reached the entrance of the building, weapons ready, nerves taut. "Ready?" Naina asked, her voice steady despite the storm raging in her mind.

"Always," Rajveer replied, his gaze hardening.

With a deep breath, Naina led the way into the building, the faint sound of their footsteps echoing in the darkened hallways. As they moved deeper into the structure, the feeling of unease grew. And then, suddenly, a voice pierced the silence.

"I’ve been expecting you," Colonel Shakti Chandra said, stepping out from the shadows.

The team froze.

The truth had finally found them.
