The moon hung high in the sky, casting a silver glow over the quiet streets as Jun and Blue Cop prepared for their plan. Jun, exhausted from everything that had happened that day, sat slumped against the wall inside the dimly lit Motown Repair Shop, rubbing his eyes.
"I'm seriously beat," Jun muttered, his voice tinged with exhaustion. "Why do we have to do this tonight? I barely have the energy to stay awake."
Blue Cop stood by the door, his mechanical form casting long shadows. His eyes glowed faintly, reflecting the urgency of the situation. "Because, Jun, it has to be done while everyone is sleeping. If we're seen, we'll have no chance of catching Mega Trucker off guard. The element of surprise is our only advantage."
Jun groaned, running a hand through his disheveled hair. "I get it, I do. But... why does it always have to be me? Why can't you just—"
"We don't have time for 'why' questions," Blue Cop interrupted firmly. "This needs to be done now. If we wait, it'll be too late."
Jun exhaled sharply, nodding reluctantly. The weight of the mission settled on his shoulders, but he understood. Blue Cop was right—if they didn't act now, the consequences would be far worse than just a sleepless night.
"Alright, alright," Jun muttered, standing up. "But you owe me a nap after this."
Blue Cop gave a short, mechanical nod. "Once this is over, you'll get all the rest you need."
The night air was cool as Jun and Blue Cop made their way to the edge of the neighborhood, where Ed's repair shop stood. The streets were eerily quiet, but there was a palpable tension hanging in the air. Jun's hand gripped the metal watch tightly, the faint pulse of Metal Breath a constant reminder of what was at stake.
They set up near the back of the shop, where Jun adjusted the sound equipment they'd used to lure Mega Trucker. With a few quick adjustments, Blue Cop flicked a switch, and a rhythmic beat began to pulse through the speakers. It was a sound that would catch anyone's attention, vibrating through the streets and shaking the houses awake.
At first, the music sounded innocuous—just the sort of thing you might hear from a late-night party. But the heavy bass soon turned into an intense, pounding rhythm, designed to attract Mega Trucker's attention. And as expected, it worked.
Within minutes, the ground beneath them began to shake. Jun's heart pounded in his chest, and he could feel the vibrations in the pit of his stomach. There was no mistaking it—Mega Trucker was on his way.
"You sure this is going to work?" Jun asked, glancing nervously at Blue Cop.
Blue Cop's expression was unreadable, his focus laser-sharp. "It has to. Mega Trucker is drawn to noise—he won't resist it."
Just as he spoke, the ground trembled once more, and a massive shape appeared in the distance—a colossal orange, gray, and white form lumbering into view. Mega Trucker. His massive dumpster truck body rumbled through the streets, nearly three feet taller than Blue Cop. His eyes gleamed with malice, and his metallic wheels screeched as he came to a halt in front of Ed's shop.
Blue Cop stepped forward, his voice calm but firm. "Mega Trucker. You're being called to halt. There's no need for further destruction."
Mega Trucker's deep, gravelly voice boomed in response. "I'll stop nothing, Blue Cop. You were given a task, and you failed. The destruction of Machina should have been absolute, not partial."
"That's not the truth, and you know it!" Blue Cop retorted. "I was following orders to ensure the survival of those who wanted peace. What happened on Machina was beyond my control. You should be working with me, not against me."
Mega Trucker's orange chassis groaned, and a low rumble filled the air. "I can't forgive you, Blue Cop. You abandoned us! I will finish what we started."
Blue Cop sighed, shaking his head. "I don't want to fight, but if you leave me no choice..."
Mega Trucker roared, and in an instant, his body transformed, massive metal arms extending as he lunged toward Blue Cop. The fight began in earnest.
Jun watched in disbelief as Blue Cop and Mega Trucker clashed in a storm of metal and sparks, their massive forms tearing up the street. But even as Blue Cop held his own, it was clear he was struggling. Mega Trucker's sheer size and power were overwhelming.
"Come on, Jun!" Blue Cop shouted, his voice strained. "You need to use Metal Breath! Now!"
Jun's hands shook as he looked down at the glowing watch on his wrist. The same watch that had already proven its power once before. He took a deep breath, steeling himself. He reached out, feeling the pulse of energy inside the watch. "Metal Breath pick up!" he called out. "Blue Cop set up!!" Jun said
A surge of energy rushed through him, and in a flash, Jun felt an overwhelming surge of power. His hands gripped the skill cards that had been linked to the Metal Breath, cards he had barely begun to understand. With a sudden, decisive motion, he threw one into the air.
"Change Up!" he shouted, and the energy around him shifted, creating a powerful barrier that surged through the air, enveloping Mega Trucker.
Mega Trucker stumbled back, momentarily disoriented by the energy that coursed through his massive form. Blue Cop took advantage of the distraction, landing a powerful blow to the side of Mega Trucker's chest, sending him reeling.
Jun's heart raced, but he was beginning to feel more in control. He threw another card into the air, calling out another command, "Blue Cop Brust Shot!"
A burst of energy erupted from the card, and Mega Trucker's massive arms—his primary weapons—fell limply to the ground. He howled in fury, struggling against the restraints.
"Blue Cop, Mega Volt Punch!" Jun yelled, sweat pouring down his face as the exhaustion of the night's events began to catch up with him.
Blue Cop nodded, stepping forward as his justice gauntlet collected energy before he reapted the same lines, drawing Mega Trucker into the glowing vortex of energy. "Metal Cardbot—Seal!" Jun commanded, and with a burst of light, Mega Trucker was sealed away into the watch.
The battle was over. Jun collapsed to his knees, breathing heavily, his body aching from the strain. Blue Cop knelt beside him, offering a small but reassuring smile.
"That was impressive, Jun," Blue Cop said softly. "You've just sealed your first Cardbot."
Jun looked down at the watch, the glowing light still pulsating softly. "It feels... weird. Like I'm not even the same person anymore."
"You're stronger than you think," Blue Cop said with a hint of pride in his voice. "And this is just the beginning. We've got more work ahead of us. But tonight, you did what needed to be done."
Jun nodded, still processing the events. "Yeah. I guess we did."
