"Brother Ye!"

"Brother Ye!"

"Brother Ye!"

The repeated shouts echoed in the interrogation room where Ye Chen was seated.

Zhang Jingshan and his companions rushed in quickly.

Their unified call of "Brother Ye" left Qi Quan utterly dumbfounded.

Could someone like this, once labeled as a low-life gambling addict frequently detained for administrative offenses, really command such respect from these influential young masters?

What on earth?

Even the son of the old secretary, Zhang Jingshan, known for being rebellious and headstrong despite not being as flamboyant as other second-generation elites, was also calling Ye Chen "Brother"?

The sight was nothing short of bizarre.

Before Ye Chen could speak, Qi Quan, recovering from his shock, stood up and quipped, "Young masters, this scene you've made here—are you worried I might torture Mr. Ye to extract a confession?"

"Captain Qi, this isn't right. Brother Ye was with us and left with us. You brought him in for questioning without involving us—what's the meaning of this?" Zhang Jingshan said.

"Cut the act, kid. You think I play by some hierarchical rules? My priority was to get some initial clarity from Mr. Ye, and then I'd reach out to the rest of you. But since you're so eager to cooperate, fine. Let's get this done together—tell me everything you saw, heard, and experienced at the Heavenly Palace Club," Qi Quan replied.

Though initially reluctant to involve them, Qi Quan had little choice now.

Given the power and influence of their families—one the grandson of an old party secretary, another the son of a deputy mayor, and yet another the son of a district secretary—it was typically wiser to avoid pulling them into police matters unless absolutely necessary.

However, with their proactive arrival and complaints of "hierarchical bias," Qi Quan had no choice but to entertain them.

After a formal questioning session, Qi Quan decided not to waste any more time.

"Alright, we've got what we need. You're free to leave now."

"You police officers are really something. The incident at the Heavenly Palace Club? We weren't even present, yet you dragged us into this whole 'assisting investigation' farce," Zhang Jingshan huffed.

"Oh? So you would've preferred being there? If that were the case, it wouldn't be here you'd be assisting from—you'd be in the hospital being questioned," Qi Quan retorted with a smirk.

The mention of "being present" immediately caused the faces of Zhang Jingshan and the others to pale, their throats involuntarily tightening.

The fear was evident on their faces.

Qi Quan wasn't surprised by their reaction.

For young masters like them, pampered and inexperienced, the kind of danger that could be described as "bullets grazing past their scalps" was enough to leave them shaken.

"Go home and get some rest. Sleep it off," Qi Quan said, patting Zhang Jingshan's shoulder before turning to leave.

But before he could take more than a few steps, Ye Chen suddenly called out, "Captain Qi, wait a moment."

"Hmm?" Qi Quan stopped and turned around, puzzled.

Ye Chen didn't respond immediately but instead fixed his gaze on Qi Quan.

"What? Don't tell me you're about to predict some calamity for me too," Qi Quan joked.

But Ye Chen's expression was solemn. "Captain Qi, believe it or not, your face does indicate an imminent calamity involving bloodshed."

"What the hell!"

Qi Quan nearly cursed out loud.

Does this guy seriously think he's a fortune-teller now?

Qi Quan dismissed such things as nonsense. In his opinion, the fact that Ye Chen's previous prediction about Feng Liang came true was likely just a lucky guess.

Still, instead of outright rejecting Ye Chen's claim, he asked mockingly, "Alright, Master Ye, how do I avert this calamity?"

"There's no ritual or exorcism required. Just make sure to wear a bulletproof vest during missions," Ye Chen advised.

This response caught Qi Quan off guard.

He had expected some elaborate and mystical solution but was instead met with a simple, practical suggestion.

Though surprised, Qi Quan still saw Ye Chen as a charlatan.

Feigning amusement, he added, "And when exactly will this supposed calamity occur?"

"Sometime this week, Captain Qi. Please be extra cautious," Ye Chen replied with a faint smile.

A week?

This wasn't some vague, long-term prediction—it was precise.

Qi Quan was momentarily taken aback but quickly dismissed the thought, shaking his head. "Master Ye, save your theatrics for someone else. Keep this up, and someone might mistake you for a scam artist. Next time, you might find yourself in a cell, not the interrogation room."

Ye Chen simply smiled, unmoved.

It wasn't in his nature to intervene in someone's fate, but he couldn't ignore the possibility of Qi Quan, a dedicated officer, meeting a tragic end.

"Believe me or not, Captain Qi, the choice is yours. Just take care of yourself."

With that, Ye Chen walked out, his stride steady and composed.

Zhang Jingshan and the others quickly followed, leaving Qi Quan behind, lost in thought.

As they passed him, Zhang Jingshan turned and said seriously, "Captain Qi, better safe than sorry. If something does happen, there's no undoing it."

Qi Quan watched them leave, increasingly bewildered.

"Could it be... that Ye Chen's ability to sway these young masters lies in this mysterious fortune-telling act? Was that how he got that Mercedes G-Wagon too?"

Shaking his head, Qi Quan dismissed the thought, treating it as a passing oddity.

Meanwhile, in the police station, officers couldn't hide their surprise as they watched Ye Chen leave, flanked by the influential young men.

Once outside, Ye Chen finally let out a resigned chuckle. "Wasn't this supposed to be a routine questioning? You all showing up like this almost gave me a heart attack."

Despite his words, he felt a small twinge of gratitude.

"Brother Ye, we were just worried they'd keep grilling you with endless questions," Zhang Jingshan said sheepishly.

"Brother Ye, if it weren't for you, we'd probably be in the hospital right now. There's no way we'd leave you to face this alone," Qiu Yingzhe added.

"Exactly, Brother Ye. We may not be the biggest names around, but with us here, the police will think twice about mistreating you," Xu Wenhui chimed in.

Hearing this, Ye Chen felt both amused and exasperated.

"By the way, Brother Ye, what exactly were they asking you about?" asked the calm and composed Li Changfeng, steering the conversation back to the point.

"They heard I said something about Feng Liang having a calamity involving bloodshed and thought I might have known something in advance. So they wanted to question me about it. It was all routine," Ye Chen explained casually.

However, his explanation visibly startled the group.

"Brother Ye, it wasn't me!" Zhang Jingshan quickly clarified.

"Me neither! The police didn't even approach me!" Xu Wenhui added.

"I didn't say anything either!" Qiu Yingzhe exclaimed.

Finally, Li Changfeng smiled wryly. "I'd never do something that would deliberately cause trouble for you, Brother Ye. Whoever said that clearly wasn't thinking."
