Qi Quan stormed out without a word.

The moment he arrived, he unleashed a flurry of kicks, sending them flying into the drunken brawlers.

"Bastards, stop it right now!

"You think the anti-gang crackdowns don't apply to you?

"Or are you under the impression that slogans about building a harmonious society are just for show?

"Everyone, hands on your heads and squat down!"

Qi Quan's kicks and shouts left both groups stunned.

"Who the hell are you? What does this have to do with you?" the leaders of both groups yelled simultaneously.

Hearing this, both sides froze, staring at each other in confusion.

"Who the hell am I? I'm the damn police!" Qi Quan roared, pulling out his badge and flashing it.

Before anyone could react, he grabbed the leaders of both groups by the collars.

"Think you're tough, huh? Come on, fight! Show me what you've got! Hit each other to death if you dare! And anyone else who moves? You'll all be in a holding cell tonight. Don't even think about running-the cameras up there have recorded every one of your faces. Unless you're planning to skip town immediately, I'll dig you out from wherever you hide!"

His badge and fiery words rendered the two groups speechless. They panicked.

At the same time, Ye Chen rushed out of the bar in a hurry.

"Chen Yihao, are you insane? Didn't the last lesson teach you enough? Do you really need to get yourself thrown into a holding cell to feel satisfied?"

Striding up to Chen Yihao, Ye Chen's face was dark with rage as he launched into a tirade.

Chen Yihao wanted to argue, but for some reason, Ye Chen's grim expression shut him up.

"You know this kid?" Qi Quan asked, startled.

"My brother-in-law," Ye Chen replied, glaring at Chen Yihao again. "How old are you now? Why are you still pulling these childish stunts? Do I really need to explain that when you win, you go to jail, and when you lose, you end up in the hospital? Don't you know better by now?"

"Damn it, that bastard insulted your wife first! He's in cahoots with that scumbag I took down last time!" Chen Yihao snapped, pointing at the man Qi Quan was holding. "And you, Ye Chen, can you at least figure out what's going on before you start barking at me?"

"Is that so?" Ye Chen froze for a moment, then turned abruptly.

Before anyone could react, he slapped the man Chen Yihao was pointing at.

Everyone, including Chen Yihao and Qi Quan, was dumbfounded.

But Ye Chen wasn't done.

After the slap, he followed up with a brutal kick to the man's stomach, sending him flying out of Qi Quan's grip.

"You son of a-" the man tried to charge at Ye Chen in a fit of rage.

Getting beaten up by a cop was one thing, but getting thrashed by Chen Yihao's "useless" brother-in-law? That would be an absolute humiliation.

Ye Chen didn't give him the chance. Another slap, followed by a swift kick, sent the man flying again.

Qi Quan watched, stunned. Is this guy trained?

As Ye Chen moved to follow up again, Qi Quan quickly restrained him.

"Ye Chen, have you lost your mind?" Qi Quan yelled, holding him back. Then he turned to the others. "What the hell are you all standing around for? Get lost before I arrest every single one of you!"

The brawlers scattered instantly. Even the man Ye Chen had sent flying twice was helped up and fled without looking back.

If he hadn't dodged the first hit, it might have been carelessness. But the second time? He knew Ye Chen was out of his league-and with Qi Quan backing him up, staying meant asking for more trouble.

"Let go!" Ye Chen shook Qi Quan off and turned back to Chen Yihao.

But Chen Yihao was no longer defiant. His gaze toward Ye Chen had changed completely, filled with disbelief.

Is this really my useless brother-in-law who can't do anything right?

Sure, his sister Yi Nuo had been telling him that Ye Chen had turned over a new leaf. But he never believed it. He thought Yi Nuo had just been sweet-talked again.

Yet the scene he had just witnessed left him utterly speechless.

"Where did you get hit?" Ye Chen asked, his tone cold.

"Just a punch to the head," Chen Yihao mumbled.

"Want to go to the hospital to check for a concussion?" Ye Chen asked.

"No need," Chen Yihao replied, shaking his head.

"You're getting married tomorrow, and here you are causing trouble in the middle of the night. What's next? A pre-wedding bachelor party like in the movies? Can't you grow up a little? If you got arrested, would the wedding still happen? What about your job?" Ye Chen scolded.

In the past, Ye Chen had to tread carefully around Chen Yihao due to his rocky relationship with Yi Nuo. But now that things were patched up, he could finally speak his mind as a proper brother-in-law.

And if Chen Yihao didn't like it? Well, Ye Chen wouldn't mind teaching him a lesson, too.

"Just take care of my sister properly, and that'll be enough," Chen Yihao muttered, sulking but clearly shaken by Ye Chen's earlier actions.

Ignoring him, Ye Chen turned to Qi Quan. "Captain Qi, do we need to follow any procedures for this?"

"They've already run off. What's there to follow?" Qi Quan said with a wry smile. "You really know how to stir things up. I just told you to reach out if you needed anything, and here you are causing trouble for me. If they actually complain to the station, I'll be the one getting chewed out."

Despite his words, Qi Quan didn't seem worried. He had been reprimanded plenty of times before and was used to it.

"Sorry for the trouble. I'll treat you to dinner to make up for it!" Ye Chen said with a grin.

Before he could respond, Chen Yihao interrupted, staring wide-eyed. "Captain Qi? Are you the Qi Quan? The one all over the internet?"

Qi Quan ignored him and said, "With a brother-in-law like him, you're pretty lucky. Don't waste it."

With that, he patted Ye Chen on the chest and left in a cab.

Watching Qi Quan leave, Chen Yihao stood frozen in shock.

Ye Chen... knew the legendary Qi Quan, captain of the city's police squad?

And they seemed to be on good terms?

How was that even possible?
