James Lon used his ability to focus on Hawson Wer.

Inside Hawson Wer's apartment, there were two other people—a man and a woman. The three seemed to be chatting.

"If only I could hear what they're saying. My perception still isn't perfect," James Lon muttered.

He then shifted his attention to Apartment 2104.

Living there was a female streamer with an explosive figure who went by the online name "I'm Not a Fox."

Whenever she went outside, she dressed conservatively.

However, James Lon had delivered food to her many times and had seen her true figure—a slim waist supporting a pair of astonishing curves that seemed impossible for her delicate frame.

Sometimes, during her livestreams, she'd come to the door in revealing clothes, unable to change in time.

Her body was the kind that could make any man's heart race.

With his 4-star perception, her body's contours were now even clearer. While he couldn't see colors, her outline was almost as vivid as seeing her in person.

"I'm Not a Fox" lay motionless on her bed, her body dimly glowing, likely from extreme hunger.

A streamer like her probably didn't stock up on much food at home.

"Little Fox, let me save you," James Lon thought with a smirk.

After briefly observing the movements of the other survivors, he returned to his room through the hole in the wall and began smashing through another wall.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Soon, he opened up another hole into his neighbor's apartment.

The place was empty.

The rice, flour, and oil had all gone bad, and everything in the refrigerator's fresh section had mutated.

However, the freezer still contained some meat that was edible.

James Lon even found a few pieces of steak—not the low-grade ones Fatty Eric had sold him, but high-quality M9-grade steaks with beautiful marbling.

There was also some premium black pork.

"Wow, turns out my quiet neighbor was a foodie," James Lon chuckled as he stored the items in his spatial backpack.

The best part about breaking through walls was collecting supplies.

It also helped him adapt to his physical changes and provided escape routes in case of emergencies.

A win-win-win situation.

He resumed smashing walls.

In the neighbor's apartment, he found a spare key hanging on the door, along with several boxes of medicine for fever, colds, and diarrhea.

He looted everything: toilet paper, lighters, duct tape, disinfectant, kitchen knives, hammers, pliers, and other tools.

Even the furniture, appliances, bedding, and clothes weren't spared.

With an unlimited spatial backpack, why not?

In the apocalypse, no one knew when humanity would rebuild civilization. Every item was precious and irreplaceable.

"If I could raid a large supermarket, that'd be ideal," James Lon thought while scavenging.

Once things stabilized, he planned to visit the nearest supermarket.

For now, it wasn't feasible.

First, he had no safe way to travel outside. Despite his enhanced combat abilities, he wasn't invincible in the wild.

A single bite from a poisonous insect could still be fatal.

Second, many survivors were still in the building.

If he left, someone might harm Shirley lnr or Monroe Anne.

Those two were crucial tools for gathering supplies and couldn't die easily.

After finishing with this apartment, James Lon broke through another wall and continued to the next.

In Hawson Wer's apartment, the atmosphere was chaotic.

He was sharing the space with another fitness coach named Jason.

Currently, there was also an overly made-up artificial beauty sitting on the filthy couch, smoking a cigarette. Her name was Katherine, and she had a succubus tattoo on her lower abdomen.

"Damn it! If I eat another protein shake, I'm going to puke!" Katherine complained.

Hawson Wer, doing push-ups, snorted. His muscles were massive and glistening, resembling those of a bodybuilder.

"Eat it or get out!" he snapped.

Katherine pouted but didn't dare retort.

"Humph!" Hawson Wer grunted as he pushed himself off the floor and sprang to his feet.

Jason, the other fitness coach, watched enviously.

At 180cm, he used to be taller than Hawson Wer, who was 175cm. Now, Hawson Wer had surpassed him in both height and size.

Jason regretted not eating the ability fruit back then. He had hesitated, unlike Hawson Wer, who boldly consumed it and reaped the rewards.

Hawson Wer admired his own muscles in the mirror.

In just a few days, his strength had doubled, and his muscles were harder than ever.

Even Katherine's nightly screams were proof of his prowess.

In a good mood, he asked Jason,

"What's left in the fridge?"

Jason hurriedly checked and replied with a frown,

"Two chicken breasts, Hawson. That's all we've got."

Both men were fitness coaches and had stocked up on protein powder, of which four containers remained.

Though unappetizing, it had become their lifeline. But the thought of eating protein powder every day was nauseating.

"Damn it!" Hawson Wer cursed.

"Katherine, cook the chicken breasts."

"Why don't you cook them yourself? I'm not your mom!" Katherine shot back.

Hawson Wer glared at her, and she reluctantly got up to prepare the food.

Suddenly, Jason exclaimed,

"Hawson! Look, that 'Slave Collector' guy is buying black Nephelium!"

"Huh?"

Hawson Wer immediately opened his phone and saw the post from "Slave Collector."

It included a picture of black Nephelium.

Hawson Wer's eyes lit up.

That's the fruit I ate!

So "Slave Collector" had another one.

He must've been too scared to eat it himself. But why is he trying to buy more?

Unable to figure it out, Hawson Wer stopped thinking and began plotting how to get the black Nephelium.

"Do you know where Slave Collector lives?" he asked Jason.

Jason shook his head.

"No idea. All I know is he works at the convenience store outside the complex. Hawson, he's got plenty of food. Can't we just ask to borrow some?"

Jason glanced greedily at the photo of the black Nephelium.

If only he could eat it himself!

Hawson Wer nodded, his eyes flashing with malice.

"That guy's no fool. He won't reveal his address easily."

Katherine poked her head out of the kitchen.

"Someone in the group probably knows. He lives in this complex, right? He has neighbors."

Hawson Wer's eyes glinted.

"Good idea. You two go ask around. Whoever finds his address gets the black Nephelium. We'll split his food equally."

"Really?" Jason asked excitedly.

"You'll give it to me if I find him?"

"Of course! Loyalty is important among brothers!" Hawson Wer replied with a smile, secretly thinking:

Once I get the black Nephelium, I'll punch you to death!

Katherine is still useful for blowing off steam, but you're just a waste of food.

Slave Collector had been smart from the start, only keeping women around.

Women could serve as shields in an emergency and were easier to control.

Why should I keep you?

"I don't want that much muscle. It's gross. Just give me a bigger share of the food," Katherine complained.

"Sure," Hawson Wer said with a fake smile, thinking:

Stupid woman.

Jason sneered at her.

Food is nothing compared to an ability. With power, I can take whatever I want!

Meanwhile, Katherine was playing her own game.

What an idiot. As if Hawson Wer would give you the fruit. At least being a "toy" is better than dying!

Each of them had their own agenda.
