Staring at the subspace anchor, James Lone discovered new applications for his subspace ability.

Until now, his nine-star Subspace Teleportation could only transport him within 5 kilometers, meaning he could only perceive subspace within that range.

Beyond 5 kilometers, subspace became a vast, dark void.

Since Teresa Taylor had moved beyond the 5-kilometer range, in the subspace, she appeared to be floating in nothingness.

However, her Subspace Anchor illuminated a spherical area with a radius of about 100 meters, allowing James to see the surroundings in that region.

Currently, Teresa Taylor and her group were sleeping in an abandoned building.

A day had passed, and the original group of 10 she had taken with her had dwindled to 8—two people had presumably died on the way.

Everyone was still asleep, and Teresa Taylor's light seemed normal—there were no signs of poisoning.

"Wait!" James suddenly realized something.

He could see the light emanating from Teresa Taylor and the others?

This was a feature of his Perception ability!

And yet, they were over 5 kilometers away!

The range of his Perception was only 100 meters!

James squinted as he thought carefully.

The range of his perception was 100 meters, and the illuminated sphere around the anchor point was also about 100 meters in radius.

Could it be that this 100-meter illumination radius was an extension of his Perception ability?

If that were the case, it meant subspace didn't count as part of the perception range.

In other words, his Perception could be transmitted through subspace without any loss of range, centered around a subspace anchor, and extending 100 meters outward from it!

Put simply, the subspace anchor acted as a relay station, projecting his perception ability to distant locations.

A flash of inspiration struck James.

If subspace didn't count toward distance limitations...

Then his Teleportation Gate could also act as a relay station!

After all, when he stood inside subspace, he could perceive objects outside the teleportation gate.

For example, right now, as he stood in subspace, he could perceive the women outside the gate as well as all objects within 100 meters of the gate's radius!

This meant the teleportation gate could indeed be regarded as a Perception Relay, allowing him to project his perception ability anywhere within 5 kilometers!

Excited, James tested his theory by opening a teleportation gate to a random location within the New York Film Academy.

Instantly, his perception spread out through the gate!

Every animal and plant within 100 meters entered his perception.

He closed the gate and opened another one at the Third People's Hospital.

The deathly silent inpatient ward was now within his perception!

"Haha! Just as I thought!" James laughed delightedly.

"So, I've been holding onto a top-tier surveillance tool this whole time without even realizing it!"

Previously, looking at the real world from within subspace had been extremely distorted.

He could barely make out buildings, let alone plants and animals.

As a result, James hadn't paid much attention to subspace's potential for surveillance.

Now he realized that by opening a teleportation gate anywhere within 5 kilometers, he effectively placed a Perception Eye in that location.

Everything within the 100-meter radius of this "eye" would be laid bare before him!

This ability had countless advantages:

It was fast, convenient, safe, and incredibly discreet.

For example, if he opened a gate underground or created a tiny one-millimeter micro-gate, who would even notice?

Meanwhile, James could monitor everything nearby through the gate without putting his physical body at risk!

The only limitation was the number of times he could use it.

His Subspace Teleportation could only open 12 gates per day.

In high spirits, James exited subspace and returned to his room to check his gains from the previous night.

[Ding! 1 day ago, Lulia Smith consumed 1 loaf of bread, 900 loaves returned! Stored in subspace.] [Ding! 2 days ago, Lulia Smith consumed 1 pack of biscuits, 900 packs returned! Stored in subspace.] [Ding! 3 days ago, Lulia Smith consumed 1 box of milk, 900 boxes returned! Stored in subspace.] ... [Ding! 13 days ago, Lulia Smith consumed 1 Enlightenment Fruit – Life Activation, 900 returned! Stored in subspace.]

[Enlightenment Fruit (Life Activation): 2 stars. Consuming this fruit grants the ability "Life Activation." Repeated consumption of the same fruit may increase its star level.]

Life Activation?

I thought her ability was healing.

With a flick of his wrist, James produced a black Nephelium Fruit and ate it without hesitation.

[Life Activation: 2 stars. You can consume a target's future vitality to quickly heal their current injuries. Healing/Consumption Ratio = 1:100.]

James frowned.

Consume future vitality to heal current injuries?

This thing must severely shorten lifespans.

With a healing/consumption ratio as high as 1:100, it was incredibly wasteful.

In other words, this ability could only be used in emergencies—it couldn't serve as a routine healing method.

Wot Andrew is still valuable, James thought.

However...

If it was used to heal others, then lifespan didn't matter.

After all, the person being healed wouldn't know they were losing years off their life. James could use this ability to treat them and demand massive compensation in return!

Of course, such transactions would only be for special circumstances.

Most of the time, if James wanted someone's supplies, he'd just take them by force.

The same went for people—just like how he had taken Lulia Smith.

The survivors at the New York Film Academy wouldn't dare say a word.

When the power difference between two sides was too great, equality ceased to exist.

At that moment, Lulia Smith woke up.

She glanced shyly at James Lone.

James handed her a sophisticated outfit that exuded an elegant and mature vibe. "This should suit you."

"Um... thank you." Lulia nodded, blushing.

James asked, "How much do you know about the ability users at the New York Film Academy? What are their abilities?"

The Academy wasn't very large, and most of the survivors were faculty and students.

James figured Lulia would have some knowledge about them.

Although he could monitor all the ability users with his Perception + Subspace, he couldn't determine their specific abilities without Lulia's intel.

Sure enough, Lulia answered, "I know of four ability users."

"The most infamous one is Delwen Dowlin. He's a rich kid and a student, but he's extremely violent. He's killed many teachers and students to steal supplies, but he's so powerful that no one can do anything about him."

As she spoke, fear crept into her expression.

Delwen Dowlin, like James, was highly lustful.

But unlike James, Delwen was a complete psychopath. No woman who fell into his hands had survived longer than three days.

After he was done with them, he handed them off to his underlings, who continued until the women died.

Lulia was terrified of Delwen Dowlin.

If it weren't for Delwen's inability to gauge Doris García's strength and his reluctance to take risks, Lulia believed she would have been captured and killed by now.

Thank goodness I've left the New York Film Academy...

James's expression darkened. "Oh? He has two abilities. What are they?"

Lulia replied, "His most obvious ability is his incredible speed—he moves so fast that you can't see him. The second ability is something people have guessed—it's probably some kind of purple mist vision, because he never crashes into anything while moving at high speed."

James nodded.

The guess was reasonable.

Survivors who made it this far weren't stupid.

The brainless ones had already died in the brutal competition for survival, becoming spoils for the more capable.

"Who else?" James asked.

Lulia continued, "The other two are the teachers who tried to stop you when you... uh... brought me back."

"The younger one is Reo Turner. His ability is super endurance—he has incredible stamina."

"The older one is Professor Sean Collins. His ability is lightfootedness—he can jump from great heights without injury."

"The last one is a music major named Winnie Morgan. Like Lily Green, she's one of my students."
