It was a sunny Sunday afternoon, and both families had gathered for lunch. Their parents were staying in the same home as they became old, so they agreed to move into Santa home and gave the Perth parents home to the soon to be couple . The dining table was lively with chatter, but as usual, Perth and Santa's banter stole the show.
Santa : Phi Perth, you're so boring!
He whined, poking at his food.
Santa : Do you ever do anything fun?
Perth : And you're so loud.
He retorted, taking a sip of his drink.
Perth : Do you ever stop talking?
Santa stuck his tongue out.
Santa : Maybe I wouldn't have to talk so much if you weren't so dull.
Their parents exchanged knowing looks before bursting into laughter.
Santa mom : Here they go again. *shaking her head* It's like watching a live Tom and Jerry episode.
Perth dad : Except Jerry is way too clingy. * grinning * Santa, you follow Perth everywhere, don't you? * teasing *
Santa's face turned red.
Santa : I do not! He's just always in the way!
Perth mom : And yet. * chimed in with a teasing smile* You two can't seem to stay apart for more than a few hours.
Santa dad : Remember that time Santa 'accidentally' left his phone at our house just to have an excuse to come back? * laughing *
Santa groaned, burying his face in his hands.
Santa : That was one time!
Perth mom : And the time you waited outside Perth's office for three hours because you didn't want to eat lunch alone?
Santa : Mom! * whined*
His face is now as red as a tomato.
Perth : *smirked, leaning back in his chair. * You really can't survive without me, huh?
Santa : * glared at him * Don't get cocky! I just... didn't want to waste food.
Perth teasing him and Santa pout. The parents laughed again, clearly enjoying the show.
After the laughter at Santa's expense had died down, Perth's mom smirked knowingly.
Perth mom : But you know, Santa's not the only one who's hopeless.
Perth frowned, setting down his glass.
Perth : What's that supposed to mean?
Santa dad : Oh, don't play innocent. We've all seen how you act around Santa.
Santa perked up, his teasing grin returning.
Santa : * face bright up * What? Perth? Acting? Around me? Please, do tell!
Perth shot Santa a warning look, but his dad jumped in before he could protest.
Perth dad : Remember last winter when Santa caught a cold? Perth didn't leave his side for three days. Kept checking his temperature every hour.
Perth : That's just being responsible. * His voice is steady, though his ears turned pink.*
Santa's mom grinned. "Oh? And what about the time you canceled your work trip because Santa was upset about you leaving?"
Santa : *gasped dramatically, clutching his chest. * You canceled a trip for me? I feel so special!
Perth's jaw tightened.
Perth : You were overly dramatic. Someone had to keep you from sulking.
Santa : Sulking?" * feigning offense * You just can't admit you care about me, can you?
Perth mom : He cares. * laugh * Like that time, he made a whole playlist of Santa's favorite songs and gave it to him with the excuse that 'it might help you focus.
Santa blinked, his grin softening.
Santa : Wait, you did that?
Perth avoided Santa's gaze.
Perth : It wasn't a big deal. * shuttering *
Santa : It is to me.
Santa said quietly, his cheeks pink.
Their parents exchanged, knowing smiles.
Santa dad : You two are so hopeless * shaking his head * It's like you're in your own little world half the time.
Perth mom : Maybe we should just let them handle the wedding planning themselves. * teased *
Perth groaned, rubbing his temples.
Perth : Can we eat in peace now?
Santa leaned closer to Perth, his mischievous grin back.
Santa : Admit it...you're just as clingy as me.
Perth finally looked at him, his expression softening.
Perth : Maybe. But I'm better at hiding it.
Santa laughed, and their parents burst into applause.
Santa mom : That's the most honest thing he's said all day! * exclaimed *
Perth sighed, but the small smile tugging at his lips didn't go unnoticed. . . . . .
The garden was bathed in the warm glow of fairy lights, with flowers lining the aisle and a soft breeze carrying the scent of roses. Santa stood at the end of the aisle, fidgeting with his cuffs, his cheeks flushed with excitement and nerves.
Perth : Stop squirming .* whispered*
He standing beside him, looking effortlessly handsome in his suit.
Santa huffed, turning to him.
Santa : I'm not squirming! I'm... adjusting.
Perth : *smirked, leaning closer*.You're nervous.
Santa : Am not! * protested *
Though his reddening ears betrayed him.
Perth reached out, gently taking Santa's hand in his.
Perth: You don't have to be nervous. It's just us. Like always.
Santa looked up at him, his heart softening.
Santa : You make it sound so simple.
Perth : It is. * his calm and steady * "mBecause I'm marrying my annoying best friend.
Santa blinked, his cheeks heating up.
Santa : Y-You're really good at this romantic stuff, huh?
Perth chuckled, squeezing his hand.
Perth : Only for you.
The ceremony began, and as they exchanged vows, their parents sat in the front row, smiling with pride.
"You may now kiss your spouse," the officiant said with a warm smile.
Santa grinned mischievously.
Santa : You better make it good, old man.
Perth rolled his eyes but leaned in, cupping Santa's cheek as he kissed him softly. The crowd erupted in cheers, their parents clapping the loudest.
When they pulled apart, Santa's face was red, but his smile was radiant.
Santa : Not bad, hubby.
Perth : * smirked * Get used to it.
As they walked down the aisle together, hand in hand, Santa leaned closer and whispered.
Santa : I guess being married to you won't be so bad after all. You old man.
Perth glanced at him, his eyes warm.
Perth : It'll be better than you think, troublemaker.
And with that, their journey as husband and husband began, filled with laughter, teasing, and a love that only grew stronger with time.
