Macau nervously twirled a pen in his hand as his teacher, Paris, stared at him with a mix of amusement and disapproval.
"Macau, this is the third time you've forgotten to bring a guardian to the PTA meeting," Paris said her tone, firm but kind.
"I-I was busy!" Macau stammered.
Paris raised an eyebrow. "Busy doing what? Beating your high score in that game, your brother keeps confiscating?"
Macau winced. "Okay, okay! I'll bring someone this time. I promise."
Paris leaned back in her chair, clearly skeptical. "Good. I expect to see a responsible adult with you tomorrow."
Later that evening, Macau sat on his bed, staring at his game console. "If Hia Vegas finds out I messed up again, I'll never see you again, sweet console," he muttered dramatically.
He thought hard. Who could I bring that Vegas won't know about?
That's when an idea struck him like lightning. "Phi Kinn!" So went to meet him.
Convincing Kinn turned out to be easier than Macau expected.
"Let me get this straight," Kinn said, crossing his arms. "You want me to pretend to be your guardian for a PTA meeting because you're scared Vegas will take your games away again?"
Macau nodded vigorously.
Kinn smirked. "And what do I get out of this?"
"I'll... I'll clean your car for a week!" Macau blurted.
Kinn raised an eyebrow. "A month."
"Deal!" Macau said quickly.
The next day, Macau and Kinn walked into the school together. Kinn, in his sharp suit, immediately drew attention.
"Is that Macau's brother?" one teacher whispered.
"No, too handsome to be related," another replied.
Macau tugged at Kinn's sleeve. "Stop looking so perfect. You're making me look bad."
Kinn chuckled. "I can't help it."
Paris greeted them at the door, her expression shifting from surprise to delight.
"Macau, you actually brought someone! And who might you be?" she asked, looking at Kinn.
"Kinn, ma'am. A... close friend of the family," Kinn replied smoothly.
Paris 's eyes sparkled. "How wonderful! Please, come in."
Macau groaned inwardly. Why does she look so happy?
During the meeting, Paris couldn't help but observe the pair. Kinn was attentive, occasionally whispering to Macau, who would either nod or pout.
"You two seem close," Paris commented during a break.
Macau quickly shook his head. "N-No, we're not!"
Kinn smirked. "I'd say we're getting there."
Macau glared at him.
Paris's smile grew. "Macau, I must say, you have excellent taste in choosing someone to support you."
"He's not-" Macau started, but Paris waved him off.
"I think you two make a lovely pair." She murmured under her breath.
After the meeting, Paris walked them out, her enthusiasm barely contained.
"Kinn, I hope you'll continue to guide Macau. He could use someone dependable like you in his life."
"Of course, ma'am," Kinn said, his tone sincere.
Macau muttered under his breath, "Stop encouraging her!"
Kinn leaned closer. "Admit it. You like the idea."
Macau's face turned red. "Shut up!"
That evening, Macau's phone buzzed. It was a text from Paris :
📱 : "Macau, you're lucky to have someone like Kinn. I fully support this!"
Macau groaned and threw his phone on the bed.
"Great. Now my teacher's a shipper. But why the hell is she shipping us?"
Meanwhile, Kinn texted him:
📱: "You owe me a car wash. Also, dinner. 😉"
Macau stared at the message, his heart doing a weird flip.
"Stupid Phi Kinn," he muttered, but the smile on his face betrayed him. . . . .
One weekend, Vegas invited Kinn and Kinn's mom for dinner. But what Macau doesn't know is that his " shipper teacher " is none other than Kinn's mom.
Macau sat stiffly at the dining table, poking at his food. Nervously looking at Kinn's mom, Paris. He saw Kinn with a mischievous smile on his face.
Kinn, as usual, looked composed and amused, while Paris was all smiles. Vegas, oblivious to Macau's growing anxiety, was focused on pouring wine.
"So, Macau," Paris began, her tone playful. "I didn't expect to see you at the PTA meeting last week. You usually forget, don't you?"
Macau froze, his fork halfway to his mouth. His eyes darted to Kinn, who was suppressing a smirk.
Vegas looked up sharply. "PTA meeting? Macau, what is she talking about?"
Macau stammered, "Uh, nothing! It's nothing!"
Paris chuckled, clearly enjoying his discomfort. "Oh, it was quite the surprise. And you brought such a charming guardian with you. Kinn was so helpful!"
Vegas narrowed his eyes. "Wait. Kinn went to a PTA meeting? For Macau?"
Kinn finally spoke, his voice smooth. "He needed someone responsible. I stepped in."
Vegas's expression turned incredulous. "Macau, you made Kinn go to your PTA meeting?!"
"I panicked, okay?!" Macau blurted, throwing his hands in the air. "You were going to take my games again if I messed up, and I didn't know she was his mom!"
Kinn burst out laughing, and Paris joined in, her laughter light and delighted.
Vegas, however, was not amused. "You dragged my best friend into this? Without telling me?!"
"Well, I didn't think it'd come up at dinner!" Macau snapped, glaring at Kinn, who was clearly enjoying himself.
"Oh, it was no trouble," Paris said, waving a hand. "Kinn was such a gentleman. The other parents were quite impressed."
Vegas groaned, rubbing his temples. "Macau, you're unbelievable."
Kinn leaned back in his chair, grinning. "To be fair, it was kind of fun. Macau was so flustered the whole time."
Macau turned red, pointing a finger at Kinn. "You promised you wouldn't say anything!"
Paris leaned forward, her eyes twinkling. "Well, I think you two made quite the pair. Don't you agree, Vegas?"
Vegas glared at Macau. "Oh, we're talking about this later."
Macau slumped in his chair, muttering under his breath, "Stupid PTA meetings. Stupid phi Kinn."
Kinn leaned closer to Macau, his voice low enough for only him to hear. "Admit it, you liked having me there."
Macau shoved a piece of bread in his mouth to avoid answering, while Kinn and Paris exchanged amused glances.
Vegas sighed. "I can't believe this family."
The conversation shifted, but Macau remained tense, his head down. Sensing this, Kinn leaned closer, his shoulder brushing Macau's.
"Hey," Kinn whispered, his voice low and gentle. "You okay?"
Macau glanced at him, his irritation melting slightly at the concern in Kinn's eyes. "I just... I didn't think it'd come out like this."
Kinn smiled softly. "Relax. No one's mad. Well, except maybe Vegas, but he'll get over it."
Paris, watching the exchange, smiled knowingly.
Vegas frowned. "Why is Mom smiling like that?"
Paris patted his hand. "Oh, nothing. I'm just thinking how lovely it is when people support each other."
Vegas squinted at her, then at Kinn and Macau, who were now quietly talking and smiling at each other.
"Wait a second..." Vegas started, his eyes narrowing.
Korn grinned. "You'll figure it out eventually, dear."
As dinner ended, Macau walked out with Kinn, their shoulders brushing.
"Thanks," Macau mumbled, still blushing.
Kinn chuckled. "Anytime. And next time, just ask me directly. I'll always show up for you."
Macau glanced up, his heart doing flips. "You're so annoying."
"And you're adorable," Kinn replied with a wink, leaving Macau speechless as they walked into the night. . . . .
It had been a week since Macau's embarrassing PTA revelation. Vegas had left on a business trip, and Kinn had taken responsibility for Macau in his absence.
But Macau had been acting strange. He avoided Kinn at every opportunity, muttering excuses and disappearing whenever Kinn entered the room.
That evening, Kinn found Macau sitting on the porch swing in the garden, staring at the sky. He approached quietly, taking a seat beside him.
"Are you going to keep avoiding me forever?" Kinn asked, his voice gentle but teasing.
Macau flinched but didn't look at him. "I'm not avoiding you."
Kinn raised an eyebrow. "You've barely spoken to me all week. Did I do something wrong?"
Macau hesitated, fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. "No... it's not you. It's me."
Kinn tilted his head, studying Macau's nervous expression. "Then tell me what's going on."
Macau took a deep breath, his voice barely audible. "I... I think I might be falling for you."
Kinn froze for a moment, his heart skipping a beat. "Macau..."
"I don't know what to do," Macau rushed on, still avoiding his gaze. "You're Hia Vegas' best friend, and it's so confusing, and-"
Kinn reached out, gently placing a hand over Macau's. "Macau, stop."
Macau finally looked at him, his eyes wide and uncertain.
Kinn's expression softened, and a small smile tugged at his lips. "It's mutual."
Macau blinked. "What?"
"I like you too," Kinn said simply, his voice steady and sincere. "I've liked you for a while now."
Macau's cheeks turned crimson, and he looked down, his heart racing. "You... you do?"
Kinn chuckled softly, his fingers brushing against Macau's. "Yeah. So, stop running away from me, okay?"
Macau nodded slowly, a shy smile creeping onto his face. "Okay." . . . .
The two of them sat in comfortable silence, leaning back on the swing as they watched the stars twinkle above.
Kinn draped an arm around Macau's shoulders, pulling him close. Macau hesitated for a moment before resting his head on Kinn's chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
"You're warm," Macau mumbled, his voice muffled.
Kinn smiled, pressing a light kiss to the top of Macau's head. "And you're cute when you're shy."
Macau groaned softly, but the content smile on his face betrayed him.
After a while, Kinn tilted Macau's chin up gently, their eyes meeting. "Can I kiss you?"
Macau nodded, his heart thudding in his chest.
Kinn leaned in, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to Macau's lips. It was gentle and unhurried, filled with all the feelings they hadn't put into words.
When they pulled apart, Macau's cheeks were flushed, and he looked up at Kinn with a small, shy smile.
"Do you always have to be so smooth?" Macau asked, trying to sound annoyed but failing miserably.
Kinn laughed, pressing another quick kiss to Macau's forehead. "Only for you."
As they sat there, wrapped up in each other under the night sky, Macau felt a warmth he never wanted to let go of.
___ it's been 3 months since they were together. ____
Vegas was casually sipping his coffee one morning when Macau walked into the kitchen, his collar slightly skewed Vegas's sharp eyes immediately zeroed in on the faint reddish-purple mark on Macau's neck , He squinted, "Macau. What's that on your neck? "
Macau froze mid-step, his hand flying to cover the hickey. "N-nothing!"
Vegas set his coffee cup down, his expression turning dangerous. "That's not nothing. Who did that to you?"
Macau gulped, knowing there was no escape. "It's... it's Phi Kinn."
The room went silent. Vegas stared at him, processing the words. Then, in a calm but terrifyingly low voice, he asked, "Kinn?"
Macau nodded hesitantly. "It's not what you think! lt's just a hickey! We didn't - "
Vegas didn't wait for the explanation. He grabbed the nearest weapon--a large ceramic flower pot from the counter and stormed toward the living room. Where Kinn was sitting peacefully, scrolling through his phone.
"KINN!" Vegas roared.
Kinn looked up, confused, only to see Vegas charging at him with the flower pot raised. "What the -"
"YOU MARKED MY BABY BROTHER?!" Vegas bellowed, swinging the pot.
Kinn barely dodged in time, dropping his phone as he scrambled to his feet. "Wait, wait! It's not what it looks like!"
"NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE THERE'S A HICKEY ON MY BABY BROTHER'S NECK!"
Macau burst into the room, panicked. "Hia, stop! He didn't do anything else!"
"ANYTHING ELSE? YOU MEAN THIS WAS JUST A START?!" Vegas shouted, chasing Kinn around the coffee table
Kinn darted behind the couch, using it as a barrier. "Macau baby, explain to your brother before I get killed!"
"Hia, please!" Macau pleaded, running after him. "I love him!"
"LOVE HIM? I'M ABOUT TO KILL HIM!" Vegas yelled, hurl flower pot, which Kinn narrowed avoided.
"Hia, stop! I'm not a kid anymore! can make my own decisions!"
It makes Vegas stop what he is doing.
After the chaos had settled, Vegas sat on the couch, his arms crossed and his expression unreadable. Macau and Kinn stood in front of him like two kids caught sneaking cookies from the jar.
Macau fidgeted nervously. "Hia, say something."
Vegas let out a long sigh, rubbing his temples. "It's not that I'm against this... relationship."
Macau and Kinn exchanged a surprised glance.
"It's just..." Vegas paused, his voice softening. "My baby brother. You're not a kid anymore, and I didn't realize how much you've grown until now."
Macau's eyes widened. "Hia..."
"I mean, you're falling in love, making your own choices, and here I am, still trying to protect you like you're ten years old." He gave a weak laugh, shaking his head. "It's hard for me to accept, but I'll try."
Macau hesitated before stepping closer and hugging Vegas tightly. "You'll always be my annoying, overprotective brother. That's never going to change." Let out a small tear.
Vegas blinked, startled, before patting Macau's head. "Yeah, yeah. Just don't let him hurt you, or I'll bury him in the backyard."
Kinn cleared his throat awkwardly. "Noted."
Vegas shot him a sharp look but then sighed again. "Fine, you've got my blessing. Just... don't make me regret it."
Kinn smiled, wrapping an arm around Macau's shoulders. "Thank you, Vegas. I'll take care of him."
Vegas narrowed his eyes. "You better. And don't think I didn't notice the hickey. Keep it in your brainless brain, you hear me?"
Macau groaned, burying his face in his hands. "Oh my god, hia, stop!"
Kinn chuckled softly, pulling Macau closer. "Noted. Again."
As Vegas watched the two of them, a small smile tugged at his lips. His baby brother was happy, and maybe that was all that mattered.
