The SUV slowed to a halt in front of the school. Ethan stared out the window, taking in the unfamiliar brick building with its wide glass doors and the words Bremerton High School etched into the wall. The name meant nothing to him.

The woman driving hadn't spoken a word during the ten-minute ride, and neither had he. He glanced at the woman in the driver's seat as she broke the silence. "Make a good impression on your first day, okay?" she said. "You remember where you're supposed to go, right?"

Ethan barely opened his mouth to respond before she continued, "You need to head to the office to pick up your schedule."

Swallowing his confusion, Ethan nodded and mumbled, "Of course. I remember."

"Good. Have fun, sweetie," the woman said with a smile. "I'll pick you up after school. Love you."

Ethan forced a quick, "Bye," as he stepped out and shut the door. The SUV pulled away, leaving him standing on the sidewalk, trying to ignore the swarm of students filing into the building.

His heart raced as he walked toward the main entrance. It felt as if everyone's eyes were on him. Like they all knew his secret. In reality, most didn't even recognize him as a new girl, just another student no different than the rest.

The office was just inside. He pushed the door open and approached the front desk, where a middle-aged woman greeted him with a friendly smile.

"Can I help you, sweetheart?" she asked kindly.

Ethan froze. He realized he didn't even know Olivia's full name. Panic surged through him, but then he remembered the iPhone in his pocket. Quickly pulling it out, he navigated to the settings. Sure enough, under the Apple ID, it read: Olivia Wieber.

"I'm Olivia Wieber," he said, his voice sounding strange and unfamiliar to his own ears. "It's my first day, and I was told to come here to get my schedule."

The woman smiled warmly. "Welcome to Bremerton High, Olivia! Let's get you sorted out. Here, take a look at this and confirm that all the information is correct."

She handed him a sheet of paper, and Ethan scanned it, trying to look casual. His stomach churned as he read:

Name: Olivia Evelyn Wieber

Birthdate: February 18, 2009

Sex: Female

Home Address: 2449 N Lafayette Ave, Bremerton, WA 98312, USA

Emergency Contact: Susan Evelyn Wieber (Mother), (206) 989 8976

The details blurred in front of his eyes. He was supposedly 15 years old, living in Washington state. None of it made sense. Ethan swallowed hard, forcing a smile.

"Looks good," he said.

"Fantastic!" The woman handed him a piece of paper. "Here's your schedule. Your first class is History with Mrs. Whitmer in room 108. It's just around the corner and down the hall near the end. Come back here if you get lost, sweetie! I'll make sure to help you out."

"Thank you," Ethan said, clutching the paper like a lifeline as he left the office.

The hallways were filled with chatter and slamming lockers. Students hurried past him, some glancing at him with fleeting curiosity. Ethan looked down at his schedule to avoid their gazes.

His classes alternated between odd and even days. On odd days, he had History, English, Physics, and Art. On even days, Biology, Math, Physical Education, and Spanish. Everything was all so overwhelming.

How'd I go from a 17 year old guy in New York to a 15 year old girl in Washington?

He couldn't make sense of it so he focused instead on finding room 108.

He followed the woman's instructions, weaving through the crowd until he reached a door near the end of the hallway. The small sign beside it read: Room 108.

Ethan stopped in front of the door. His heart pounded as he braced himself for what lay on the other side.
