A pair of glowing green eyes locked onto Takahishi's, a malevolent grin spreading across the figure's face. The sound of rattling chains echoed through the hallway, growing louder with each passing moment.
"I'm coming for you, brat!" a deep, angry voice bellowed, sending shivers down Takahishi's spine.
Takahishi's eyes widened in horror as he stared at the figure standing before him. The voice, the face, it was all too familiar. His mind reeled as he tried to process the impossible.
The Ghost Reaper's eyes blazed with anger, his teeth gritted in a snarl. "Give me the book, you stupid brat!" he bellowed, his icy breath sending shivers down Takahishi's spine.
Takahishi's hands trembled as he clutched the book, his eyes fixed on the Ghost Reaper's twisted face. He tried to speak, but his voice caught in his throat. His body seemed rooted to the spot, unable to move or escape.
The Ghost Reaper took a step closer, his eyes burning with an otherworldly intensity. Takahishi's scream was blood-curdling, echoing through the hallway as he stumbled backward.
"How is that possible?" Takahishi stammered, his voice shaking with fear. "How are you here?"
The Ghost Reaper's laughter was like a cold wind, sending chills down Takahishi's spine. "The woman," Takahishi whispered, his eyes fixed on the motionless form lying on the floor. "You were her?"
The Ghost Reaper's gaze flicked to the woman, a cruel smile twisting his lips. "Oh, about that," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "She was just caught up in the wrong place at the wrong time."
Takahishi's eyes widened in horror as he stared at the woman. "Is she...is she dead?" he stammered.
The Ghost Reaper's laughter was like a slap in the face. "She's still alive," he said, his voice dripping with sadistic pleasure. "I just possessed her body and used it for a while."
Takahishi's mind reeled as he tried to process the Ghost Reaper's words. He took a step back, his eyes fixed on the Ghost Reaper's twisted face.
The Ghost Reaper's gaze locked onto the book, his eyes burning with an intense desire. "Give me the book now, brat," he growled, his hand reaching out like a claw. "And in return, I'll reward you with a quick, painless death."
Takahishi's heart skipped a beat as he stared at the Ghost Reaper's outstretched hand. He knew that he had to act fast, or risk being trapped forever.
With a surge of adrenaline, Takahishi turned and ran, his legs pumping as he sprinted down the hallway. He didn't dare look back, fearing what he might see.
But as he ran, he failed to notice the figure standing in front of him. It wasn't until he collided with the Ghost Reaper's solid form that he realized his mistake.
Takahishi's eyes snapped open as he stumbled backward, his hands rubbing his eyes in shock. The Ghost Reaper's face was inches from his own, his eyes blazing with fury.
"You think you can escape me?" the Ghost Reaper snarled, his teeth gritted in rage. "I'll never let you go!"
