Takahishi's eyes still held a hint of fear as he gazed at the Ghost Reaper trapped inside the lightning barrier. "Just looking at him still gives me the creeps," he whispered, his voice trembling. "I can still see myself being swallowed inside that book."
The Ghost Reaper's laughter was like a cold wind, sending shivers down Takahishi's spine. "Do you brats think this thing can hold me forever?" he sneered, his eyes burning bright green. "When I get out of this thing, I'm going to kill all of you!"
Takahishi stumbled backward, his eyes wide with fear. He grabbed Crinix's hand, his grip tight. "I'm really scared, Crinix," he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper.
Kinski's gaze never wavered from the Ghost Reaper. A sly grin spread across his face. "I'm afraid it ends here for you," he said, his voice dripping with confidence.
Kinski turned to Crinix, his eyes locked onto the book still clutched in Crinix's hand. "Now, give me the book, so we can end this," he instructed.
Crinix lifted his hand, stretching it out to Kinski. The book passed from Crinix's hand to Kinski's, the transaction smooth.
Kinski's grin grew wider as he held the book aloft. "I'm taking you back to where you belong," he declared, his eyes glinting with triumph.
The Ghost Reaper's eyes widened in horror as Kinski opened the book, its cover creaking ominously. A bright green light spilled out, enveloping the Ghost Reaper. He let out a blood-curdling scream as he was slowly pulled into the book.
"No-o-o! Don't trap me in that stupid book again!" the Ghost Reaper shrieked, his voice growing fainter as he disappeared into the book.
The scream was abruptly cut off, leaving an oppressive silence in its wake. Takahishi and Crinix exchanged a wary glance, their eyes then drifting to Kinski. He closed the book, his expression unreadable.
Niski slowly rose from the ground, his eyes fixed on Kinski. "I guess it's finally over," he said, his voice tinged with relief. "It's too bad I didn't get to fight him."
Kinski's gaze snapped to Niski, his eyebrows narrowing. "It's not yet over," he whispered, his eyes glinting with a hint of warning.
Takahishi's eyes were still fixed on the book, his expression puzzled. "Wait a sec, I don't get it," he said, his voice rising. "You mean all this time I could have simply used the book to trap that thing inside?"
Kinski's expression was somber. "Yeah, you kids could have simply done that and prevented all of this from happening."
Takahishi's face contorted in frustration. "Huh, that's so unfair," he whined. "After all the trouble I went through just to prevent that thing from getting it."
Crinix placed a reassuring hand on Takahishi's shoulder. "Hey, Takahishi, we all didn't know, so don't blame yourself."
Takahishi's face twisted in anger as he turned to glare at Niski. His finger shot out, pointing accusingly at Niski. "Yeah, you're right, Niski is the one to blame! It's all his fault for bringing us here!" Takahishi yelled.
Kinski's gaze snapped to Takahishi, his eyes narrowing. "Huh, Niski is at fault, is Niski responsible for all this?" Kinski asked, his voice firm.
But Takahishi's anger seemed to dissipate as quickly as it had appeared. He clamped his mouth shut, his eyes darting to the floor. The room fell silent, with only the sound of heavy breathing breaking the stillness.
Kinski's gaze shifted to Crinix, hoping for an answer, but Crinix remained quiet, his eyes fixed on the floor. Kinski's eyes narrowed, his attention snapping back to Niski.
"Niski, explain to me how all of this happened," Kinski demanded, his voice rising. "I had made it clear to you to never enter that room, but you broke that rule!"
Niski stood frozen, his eyes fixed on Kinski, but he didn't utter a word. Takahishi and Crinix stared at Niski, their faces somber, knowing he was in trouble.
Kinski's face twisted in anger. "Are you going to stand there quiet, huh, Niski? Just answer me!" he snarled.
But Niski remained silent, his eyes cast downward. Takahishi's gaze drifted to Niski's face, and he saw the sad expression etched on his features. A pang of sympathy struck Takahishi's heart, and he felt sorry for Niski.
Takahishi took a deep breath and stepped forward, his eyes locked on Kinski. "Um, Mr. Kinski, it was actually my fault," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Kinski's head jerked towards Takahishi, his eyes wide with surprise. "Huh, what do you mean it was your fault?" he asked, his voice tinged with confusion.
Takahishi swallowed hard before continuing. "You see, I was the one who made Niski open that door, and I was the one who accidentally opened the book and freed the Ghost Reaper. So, I'm the one to blame, not Niski."
Kinski's expression changed from anger to confusion. "So, it's your fault, not Niski's?" he asked, his voice slow.
Takahishi nodded, his eyes cast downward. "Yes, it's all my fault."
Kinski's gaze shifted to Niski, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "So, Niski, is he telling the truth, brother?"
Niski's face broke into a wide grin. "Yes, he is telling the truth, brother. It's all his fault"
Takahishi's eyes narrowed, his heart burning with anger. He felt a sudden urge to punch Niski, but he couldn't understand why he felt that way. Takahishi's thoughts were interrupted when Niski turned to look at him, his eyes glinting with amusement.
Takahishi's eyes locked onto Niski's, and he felt a shiver run down his spine. There was something unsettling about Niski's smile, something that made Takahishi's skin crawl.
Niski's grin grew wider as he spoke. "But, brother, what he said wasn't the full truth."
Kinski's eyes snapped back to Niski, his expression confused. "Huh, what do you mean now, Niski?"
Niski's smile never wavered. "The truth is, it was actually my fault. I did everything. I was the one who broke the chains and unlocked the door. They both tried to stop me, but I didn't listen. So, everything that happened today is basically my fault."
Takahishi's eyes widened in shock, his mind reeling with Niski's confession. He felt a wave of anger wash over him, but it was quickly replaced by confusion. Why had Niski confessed to something that would get him in trouble?
