The car comes to a half outside the mansion before Akira could collect her thoughts. She steps out of the car but is rooted to the ground. Taking a deep breath she decides to get whatever is waiting for her done and over with and with that she puts up her mask of indifference. Her steps carry her toward

Diana's pov:

I was reading about the deal that Sebastian made today when the bell rang. I look at my watch and realise it must be her. I had asked Sebastian to invite her home for dinner, I wanted to talk with her in person.

The servants open the door and lead her into my study to me. I see a girl around 5'9 enter, I had taken her to be a boy at first glance. Her face held a blank expression as she came stand in front of me with her hands behind her back and said "ma'am".

I nod and then say "you must be Akira".

"Yes ma'am " she answers.

"Sit" I tell her. This would be seen as a great respect offered from a person of a higher rank let alone the mother of the Don.

She sits on the chair infront of me. I open her file as I further ask "how long have you been in this business?"

She replies "a decade ma'am"

I raise an eyebrow "so you joined at 6?"

"Yes ma'am"

I wanted to question further but decided on more important questions for now "did you attend any kind of school?"

"No ma'am"

"So can you read and write?"

"Ma'am I can read and speak French, Italian, spanish, Russian and Portugese other than English and write in english only"

To say I shocked was an understatement. "Why and how do you so may languages?"

"For spying and assasination purposes. They help me know what's going on and disguise my self."

"How did you learn them at such a young age with no schooling?"

"men in the Mafia, some of them taught me their languages and other taught me about the things they were passionate about" she answers simply.

"Things such as?" I prompt.

"History, sciences, some math"

I nod and open my mouth to ask further questions when somebody knocks on the door. "Come in" I say.

A maid enters and lets us know that the dinner is ready.

"Let's go" I tell Akira as I stand up and so does she.

I thought she would start walking along me but she always remained 2 steps behind me. The standard protocol for the differences in ranks, I observe.

We're making our way down the stairs towards the dining room when I notice that the boys have already sat down and were waiting for me to start eating.

The boys looked surprised when I enter the room with a guest. I gesture towards the seat beside Leo for her to sit.

"Boys, this is Akira" I introduce them as the food as I start serving the food along with Sebastian and Eiran. They all nod in reply.

"Akira this is Leo and Kai" I say gesturing towards them. She nods in reply.

While everybody is eating and Leo's asking Eiran something, I ask Akira "so how did get into this business at such a young age?"

And the boys looked confused so I added "she joined at 6" which left them baffled.

Now everybody was looking at Akira for answers.

"I followed a man into the base and instead of killing me they decided to keep me and train me." She answers shortly.

"Where did you live before that?" Sebastian speaks up.

"On the roads sir" she answers formally.

"No parents?" Eiran asks 'matter of factly'.

"No" She replies.

"I heard that you beat up a junior today and he isn't able to walk still?" Eiran tells rather than asks.

"Yes, he wasn't complying to my orders so thought of using him as an example for the others." She says, and then she adds "He should be able to walk in a few days."

Leo looks at Akira with a gleam in his eye which tells me he is gonna ask her to come to the ring for a fight. Leo loves boxing and just fighting in general.

"Akira we do not leave our juniors unable to walk after a fight" Sebastian says in a firm voice and Akira lowers her head.

"Sorry sir" she says.

The atmosphere tenses up after that so I decide speak up.

"Akira, you will be joining a highschool and staying here until you officially start duty" She looks at me as I speak but I can't see a hint of any emotions in her.

"Ok ma'am" she answers

Everybody gets to eating and I and kai start talking when I notice Leo take advantage of this opportunity to talk with Akira.

"So there's a fighting ring-" I hear him start so I speak up.

"Leo don't even think about it." I cut him off and he looks disappointedly at his food.

"I will tell you later" he mutters to Akira who doesn't seems to care anyway.

Time skip

After sending Akira off with some servants who would show her the guest room, I head to Sebastian's study. We need to get some tasks done and over with.

I knock on the dark wood door and enter. "it's me" I say as I enter.

Sebastian is sitting in his chair typing away with a bunch of documents scattered across the table. I am reminded of my time as the Donna whenever I enter this study.

"Hey mom" he says not sparing me a glance.

"Hi" I answer sitting down, and then add "did you enroll Akira into a highschool?"

"Yeah looking into that, which one?" He says now looking at me and then he pushes a tab towards me with a few school names and below them was more information about them.

"How about the ones Leo and Kai are already going to?" I ask putting down the tablet to which I add "she has never gone to any sort of school so it will be very new for her and Leo and kai could help her adjust"

Sebastian nods and then stares directly at me while saying "mom what is this about?"

I act confused and ask "what do you mean seb?"

"You know very well what I mean mom" he replies in a firm tone while maintaining his stare. He sure does get the stare from me and he does it good, but I am his mom. Let me remind him of that.

"Sebastian talk clearly" I use my firm voice paired with the death stare which makes him falter and he looks away.

"You know...she would have been Akira's age.." he says softly but tensely.

"Yeah" I reply softly.

"Don't try to fill that void with Akira's presence" He says tightly. One of the only times I have seen him show such emotion.

"I won't sebastian" I say regaining my professionalism.

"Don't lean too much on Akira mom" Sebastian says coldly.

Coldness..that's a facade we both put on to not let our emotions seep into the decisions we make. Oh how much I wish he didn't get that from me. I don't like how much he is like me. It honestly scares me.

"It's a member who needs to get their education, thats all" I say in a business like manner, trying to force out all emotion.

"Akira is just a member of our mafia. She's not your daughter or my sister" He tenses up while saying the last words.

I nod in agreement with a tightness in my chest. We never talk about her. It hurts too much to.

I am also very much aware how he didn't even try to bring up the fact that she would be staying with us now. Somewhere in our hearts, we both knew that seeing Akira would heal some part of us longing for our Iris....
