Miyah’s POV

Mi sit inna Zaire car, di breeze ah blow through di window, but mi heart still ah race from weh just gwan wid him madda. Di woman nah stop. Mi know it. She seh she ah try, but mi see through di fake smile and polite words. She nah like mi, and dat naw change overnight.

“Yuh think she serious?” mi ask Zaire, mi voice low but steady.

Zaire glance ova at mi, him hand still firm pon di steering wheel. “Mi nuh care if she serious or not, Miyah. Mi done set di boundary. If she cross it, dat ah fi har problem.”

Mi lean back, closing mi eyes fi a second. Di man strong, mi cya lie. Him defend mi like no one else ever defend mi before. But mi know seh Kate nah tek dis lightly.

“Mi cya believe how she try embarrass mi last night, though,” mi mumble, thinking back to di dinner.

Zaire chuckle lightly, shaking him head. “Baby, yuh handle har. Mi proud ah yuh.”

A smile creep up pon mi face, but mi nah let him see it. Mi cya mek him know seh di compliment dem always catch mi off guard.

“Mi nuh mek nobody disrespect mi, Zaire,” mi seh, mi tone fierce. “Not even yuh madda.”

“Good,” him reply, him lips curling up inna small grin. “Dat ah di Miyah mi love.”

Zaire’s POV

Mi love how Miyah nah back down from nobody, not even mi madda. Di way she stand up fi herself last night? Damn. Mi cya stop think bout it.

“Mi have a surprise fi yuh,” mi tell her as mi turn di car toward di hills.

She raise one eyebrow at mi. “Surprise? Zaire, weh yuh up to now?”

Mi smirk but keep mi eyes pon di road. “Yuh soon see.”

Di drive tek wi up to one private spot, high up inna di hills. Di city lights twinkle far below, like star dem fall outta di sky and scatter pon di ground.

Miyah step out di car, her eyes wide as she look roun’. “Zaire, dis beautiful,” she seh, her voice soft.

“Not as beautiful as yuh,” mi reply, pulling her close to mi.

“Corny,” she tease, but mi see di blush creep up pon her cheeks.

Mi lean in, mi lips brushing against hers. Di kiss start soft, but it get deeper quick. Mi hold her tight, feeling di heat rise between wi.

Miyah’s POV

Di kiss lef mi breathless. Zaire always have dat effect pon mi. Him touch feel like fire, and mi cya help but get lost in it.

“Zaire,” mi whisper against him lips, mi heart ah beat fast.

“Hmm?” him murmur, him voice low and rough.

“Yuh really tink wi can mek dis work? Wid all di people weh ah fight against wi?”

Him pull back just enough fi look mi inna mi eyes. “Miyah, mi nah mek nobody stop wi. Not mi madda, not Amanda, not nobody. Yuh ah mi woman, and mi nah let yuh go.”

Mi feel di tears prickle mi eyes, but mi blink dem away. “Yuh better mean dat, Zaire. Mi nah deal wid no half-hearted love.”

“Mi mean every word,” him seh, him tone serious. “Mi love yuh, Miyah. And mi nah stop fight fi yuh.”

Mi wrap mi arms round him, holding him close. Fi di first time inna long time, mi feel safe. Like mi finally find somebody who really deh pon mi side.

Ashley’s POV

Mi watch di two ah dem from mi spot inna di bushes, Zoey beside mi. “Yuh tink she good fi him?” mi ask quietly, mi eyes narrowing.

Zoey smirk, folding her arms. “Yuh nuh see how him look pon har? Him lost in love. And trust mi, Miyah nah easy fi handle. If she ah di one weh can keep him grounded, mi good wid dat.”

Mi nod slowly. “Mi just hope Zaire madda nuh start no more drama. Mi ready fi deal wid her if she try.”

Zoey laugh, shaking her head. “Ashley, yuh too bad. But trust mi, if Kate start, Miyah nah go sit down quiet. She have fire inna her soul, and mi love dat bout her.”

Mi smile at dat. “Alright. Mi deh pon Miyah team, then. But mi still ah keep mi eye pon Kate. Di woman deh too slick.”
