Sunday came.

You woke up earlier than usual, your stomach tied in knots. Maybe it was the anxiety of meeting Se-mi's bandmates, or maybe it was something else entirely. Either way, sleep had been out of the question.

Standing in front of the mirror, you fussed with your hair for what felt like an eternity, trying to strike a balance between effortless and presentable.

Why am I so nervous?! You scolded yourself before taking a deep breath. There's nothing to be nervous about.

With a decisive nod, you grabbed your bag and headed for the door, only to freeze mid-step. Something was missing. Something important.

Rushing to the kitchen, you retrieved a medium-sized container filled with freshly made bulgogi and carefully placed it in your bag. You werenโ€™t about to show up empty-handed.

Now, you're not exactly Gordon Ramsay, not even close. But you werenโ€™t a terrible cook either. You were... an average cook. Competent, even. Still, you hoped Se-miโ€™s friends would appreciate the effort.

Se-miโ€™s apartment came into view sooner than expected. Walking through these streets again felt eerie and haunting. This was, after all, where you had discovered Ji-hoโ€™s betrayal.

No. Ji-ho is in the past. You shook the thought away and pressed the button for the seventh floor.

The ride up was short, but each second stretched in your mind. When the elevator doors slid open, you walked through the all-too-familiar hallway and stopped at her door. 707.

Taking a deep breath, you rang the bell. The door swung open almost immediately, revealing Se-miโ€™s beaming face.

"Hey, you're here!" She chirped. "I was starting to think you wouldnโ€™t show."

"Sorry... I, uh, had some things to sort out." You rubbed the back of your neck sheepishly. "But Iโ€™m here now."

Her expression softened. "Yeah, you are. Anyways, come in, my friends are already here."

Your stomach flipped. Please donโ€™t be terrifying, please don't be terrifying..

With slightly shaky legs, you stepped inside and slipped off your shoes. The living room was occupied by four guys, each engaged in something different.

One is scrolling through his phone, another was tuning his guitar, the third idly twirled a pair of drumsticks. But the fourth? He immediately caught your attention, rapping some lyrics under his breath, complete with dramatic hand gestures.

He looked like... that evil purple minion from Despicable Me 2.

Se-mi gestured toward them. "This is Y/n, the girl I told you all about. Y/n, meet Min-su, Gyeong-su, Nam-gyu... and the one rapping over there is Thanos. Well, Su-bong, but you can call him Thanos."

You stifled a giggle at the nickname.

"Hey, seรฑorita." Su-bong drawled, sending you a wink. You almost rolled your eyes.

"Nice to meet you." The guy with soft featuresโ€” Min-su, you guessedโ€” gave you a polite wave. Gyeong-su followed suit, offering an enthusiastic double-handed wave.

"Hey." The last guy, presumably Nam-gyu, barely spared you a glance. No smile. No warmth. Just a cold, indifferent hey.

Well, okay then.

Determined to make a good impression, you smiled. "Hey, nice to meet you all. I didnโ€™t want to come empty-handed, so... I made some bulgogi. Hope youโ€™re all hungry." You said, pulling out the two containers.

"Nice, nice. Iโ€™m starving." Su-bong muttered, reaching for a container, only to get his hand smacked away by Se-mi. "What was that for?!" he whined, rubbing his hand.

โ€œDonโ€™t be rude,โ€ Se-mi scolded. Nam-gyu let out a scoff, his voice dripping with sarcasm. โ€œOh, so now you care about manners?โ€

Se-mi shot him a glare. โ€œShut up. I wasnโ€™t talking to you, asshole.โ€ She threw up a middle finger for good measure.

Before the tension could escalate, Su-bong clapped them both on the shoulders, flashing a grin. "Stop it. We're all friends here, so letโ€™s not start a war over food, yeah?"

Both of them rolled their eyes but said nothing.

Sensing the tension, you spoke up. "Itโ€™s fine, really. Youโ€™re all probably starving, so... letโ€™s eat?"

A chorus of agreements followed.

"Yeah, works for me," Gyeong-su said, earning a nod from Min-su. "Me too."

"Then letโ€™s eat!" You smiled, trying to keep things light. "And maybe after that, you guys can play something for me?"

Most of them seemed on boardโ€”except Nam-gyu, who was still scowling at you.

What had you done to deserve that glare?

Well, this was going to be interesting.
