"Are you crazy?!" Vanshi screamed into the phone, gripping it tightly as she paced around her room.

Down below, Raghuveer leaned against his car, his phone still pressed against his ear. He smirked, completely unfazed by her outburst.

"Come down before I enter the house and tell Siddhant a lieโ€ฆ that you left without doing your work," he said in a lazy, teasing tone.

Vanshiโ€™s jaw dropped. "You wouldnโ€™t!"

But before she could say anything else

Beep.

He disconnected the call.

"RAGHUVEER!" she yelled at her phone, her frustration reaching new heights.

She groaned, throwing her phone onto the bed and crossing her arms.

"Unbelievable. UN-BE-LIEVABLE!" she muttered under her breath.

She stomped towards the window and peeked outside all over again. There he was, still standing out there beside his car with that stupidly confident expression, waiting for her like he owned the world.

She huffed. "I wish troublemaker was hereโ€ฆ but nooo, Kushaant is busy with his Iravya!" she muttered to herself.

Grumbling under her breath, she rushed downstairs, her heart thudding in irritation...or maybe something else.

As she stepped outside, Raghuveer leaned against his car, watching her approach with amusement.

"Why did you come here?" she asked, crossing her arms, her brows furrowing in annoyance.

Raghuveer didnโ€™t answer right away. Instead, he pulled open the passenger door and gestured toward the seat.

"Get inside the car."

Vanshi raised an eyebrow. "And why would I do that?"

"Because if you donโ€™t," he said with a shrug, "I might just tell that lie to your brother."

Her mouth fell open. "Youโ€™re blackmailing me?!"

Raghuveer smirked. "I wouldnโ€™t call it blackmail. Justโ€ฆ persuasion."

Vanshi glared at him before muttering under her breath, "Unbelievable. Annoying. Overgrown child."

But despite her grumbling, she yanked the door open and plopped into the seat, crossing her arms stubbornly.

Raghuveer walked around to the driverโ€™s side, got in, and started the car.

"Where are you taking me?" Vanshi asked, glaring at him.

Raghuveer simply chuckled, his fingers tapping lightly against the steering wheel.

She scoffed. "Whatโ€™s so funny?"

"Nothing," he said, amusement still clear in his tone.

She narrowed her eyes. "Serious and stupid," she muttered.

Raghuveer turned to look at her, his lips twitching. "Angry and awesome."

Her breath hitched.

For a second, all her irritation faded.

Did he just

She blinked at him, her heart doing a strange little flip. She wasnโ€™t used to this...this version of Raghuveer who actually complimented her.

Before she could react, the car slowed down and came to a stop.

Vanshi looked around, realizing where they were.

She gasped.

The riverside.

Not just any riverside.

The beach.

The one she used to visit with her late father.

Her breath caught in her throat.

For a few moments, she didnโ€™t speak. She just sat there, staring at the view in front of her, her fingers unconsciously clutching the hem of her dress. The sound of waves crashing, the salty breeze brushing against her skin, the golden sunlight reflecting on the water...it was all so familiar.

Too familiar.

It felt like she had been transported back in time, to a place where she was just a little girl holding her fatherโ€™s hand, listening to his stories as they walked along the shore.

She turned to look at Raghuveer, her heart pounding in her chest.

"You like it?" he asked, his voice quieter than usual, his gaze still fixed ahead.

He wasnโ€™t looking at her.

Why wasnโ€™t he looking at her?

She could tell.

He was nervous.

Something about the way his fingers tapped against the steering wheel, the way his jaw clenched slightly..he was nervous.

Vanshi parted her lips, but no words came out.

Did he bring her here on purpose?

Did he know?

Slowly, she nodded, barely able to form a response. "Hmm."

The moment the sound escaped her lips, Raghuveer turned to look at her, as if not believing what he had just heard.

It was rare almost impossible for Vanshi to give such a short reply.

No dramatic reaction.

No teasing.

No playful banter.

Just one simple hum.

His brows furrowed slightly, his usual smirk fading.

For a moment, neither of them spoke.

They just stared at each other.

The ocean waves roared in the background, the wind gently playing with Vanshiโ€™s hair.

But all she could focus on was him.

And he was only looking at her.

Her heart pounded.

There was something about the way he was looking at her, something different. His usual arrogance, his teasing smirk it was all gone.

What remained was just him.

Raghuveer.

The man who had brought her to a place that held the most precious memories of her life.

The man whoโ€”

She gulped.

He looked away first, clearing his throat, his hands gripping the steering wheel. "Letโ€™s go."

Vanshi blinked, slightly taken aback. "Go?"

He nodded towards the beach. "You wanted to get out, right?"

Vanshi hesitated for a second before nodding.

She opened the car door and stepped out, the soft sand crunching beneath her feet. The air was crisp, fresh, reminding her of every moment she had spent here as a child.

She feltโ€ฆ safe.

A few seconds later, she heard the driverโ€™s side door shut.

Raghuveer was beside her.

She looked up at him, her lips parting slightly. He wasnโ€™t looking at her his eyes were fixed on the horizon, his expression unreadable.

"You okay?" he asked, his voice low.

Vanshi swallowed the lump in her throat and nodded. "Yeah."

For some reason, she couldnโ€™t find her usual energy to tease him.

Because deep down, she knewโ€”this wasnโ€™t just another random moment.

It meant something.

She turned back toward the ocean, wrapping her arms around herself. The waves moved in a hypnotic rhythm, rising and falling, just like the emotions inside her.

Raghuveer suddenly took a step forward.

Vanshi followed.

They walked silently along the shore, their footsteps leaving trails in the damp sand.

For the first time since she met him, there was no teasing, no bickering.

Just quiet.

A comfortable quiet.

After a while, Raghuveer spoke. "You came here often?"

Vanshi hesitated before answering. "Yeah. With my dad."

She didnโ€™t know why her voice came out softer than usual.

Maybe because talking about her father was still difficult.

Maybe because she didnโ€™t want to ruin the moment.

Maybe becauseโ€ฆ Raghuveer was listening.

Not just hearing her.

Listening.

He didnโ€™t interrupt. He didnโ€™t crack a joke.

He just waited.

Vanshi sighed, letting her feet sink into the wet sand. "He used to bring me here every year on my birthday."

Raghuveer glanced at her. "Every year?"

She nodded, smiling slightly. "Yeah. He used to say that the ocean never forgets. That even if people leave, their memories stay behind, somewhere in the waves."

Her fingers curled around the fabric of her dress as she continued, "It was his way of reminding me that no matter where he was, heโ€™d always be with me."

Silence.

Vanshi kept her gaze on the waves, not expecting a response.

But then

"I brought you white roses," Raghuveer murmured.

Her heart stopped.

Her breath hitched as she turned to him, her brows furrowing. "What?"

He looked straight ahead, his expression unreadable.

"I bought you white roses," he repeated, his voice quieter this time. "Because you said your father always gave them to you."

Vanshiโ€™s lips parted, her mind racing.

He remembered.

He remembered that but where the Roses were?

She had mentioned it once...just once, in passing. She had never expected him to actually remember.

"Youโ€ฆ" Her voice wavered. "You brought me flowers?"

He exhaled, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah. But I threw them away."

Her stomach twisted. "Why?"

Raghuveer let out a dry chuckle. "I donโ€™t know."

That was a lie.

Vanshi knew it.

She took a deep breath, trying to process everything.

This wasnโ€™t just about the beach.

It wasnโ€™t just about the flowers.

It was about him.

Raghuveerโ€”who claimed he didnโ€™t believe in love.

Raghuveerโ€”who remembered small details about her.

Raghuveerโ€”who brought her to the one place that meant the most to her, even when she never asked.

She suddenly felt warm.

Not because of the sun.

Not because of the weather.

The weather was cool but her heart was warming up and it was all because of him.

Slowly, she turned to him, her voice softer than ever.

"Thank you, Raghuveer."

He stiffened slightly, as if caught off guard. "For what?"

She smiled, her eyes glistening with unspoken truths.

"For bringing me here."

For listening.

For remembering.

For everything.

Raghuveer didnโ€™t respond right away.

Instead, he just looked at her.

And in that moment, without saying a word

She knew.

She felt it.

Something between them had shifted.

And there was no going back.

"Come," she said with a bright smile, grabbing his hand and pulling him forward.

Without waiting for a response, Vanshi started running toward the shore, her laughter mixing with the sound of the waves. Her fingers curled tightly around his wrist, her warmth seeping into his skin.

Raghuveer, on the other hand, was barely moving.

She was running, but he? He was just walking. His long legs covered the distance effortlessly, making her struggle to drag him along.

"Ugh, Raghuveer!" she huffed, looking over her shoulder. "Run properly!"

He smirked. "I am running."

"Liar!" she shot back, tightening her grip on his hand and pulling harder.

Her energy was infectious, her excitement childlike, and yet his eyes werenโ€™t on the waves, nor the golden sky above them.

They were on her.

That radiant smile, the way her hair bounced with each step, the way she looked so carefree and..and

It was stealing his heart even more.

More and more.

His fingers twitched in her hold, resisting the sudden urge to intertwine them with hers.

How was she doing this?

Making his heart race with nothing but a simple touch. A simple laugh. A simple moment.

And for the first time, Raghuveer who always controlled his emotions, who never let himself feel too much

Felt completely and utterly helpless.

The waves gently lapped at their feet as they sat on the cool, damp sand, their legs stretched out in front of them. The sky had turned into hues of deep orange and purple, the sun slowly sinking beyond the horizon. A comfortable silence had settled between them, only the distant chatter of people and the rhythmic sound of the ocean filling the air.

Vanshi tilted her head slightly, looking at Raghuveer with soft curiosity. She had always thought of him as someone who was all about businessโ€”serious, composed, and a little too boring to make someone feel good things. But after today, after seeing this side of him, she realized something.

"Youโ€™re not that boring," she admitted in a low tone, almost as if it was a confession.

Raghuveer chuckled, his deep voice blending with the evening breeze.

"Thatโ€™s why thereโ€™s a saying," he muttered, a playful glint in his eyes. "Donโ€™t judge a book by its cover."

Vanshi rolled her eyes. "Oh, please. You werenโ€™t exactly proving me wrong before today."

He smirked, but before he could respond, she suddenly asked

"Why donโ€™t you believe in love?"

His smirk faded instantly.

The air around them shifted, the lightness of the moment disappearing as his entire body tensed. His eyes, which always held a teasing glimmer, darkened, and his smile vanished as if it had never been there in the first place.

For a second, she thought he wouldnโ€™t answer.

But then..

"I had a very sad past," he began, his voice quieter, almost hesitant. "Andโ€ฆ nowโ€ฆ"

He stopped.

Vanshi didnโ€™t push.

She just sat there, listening.

The silence stretched between them, only interrupted by the waves crashing against the shore.

Finally, he exhaled, his shoulders slumping ever so slightly.

"Itโ€™s not like I donโ€™t believe in love, Vanshi," he admitted, his voice laced with something she had never heard from him beforeโ€”fear.

Real, raw fear.

"Itโ€™s just thatโ€ฆ Iโ€™m scared of it now," he continued, his fingers absentmindedly tracing patterns in the wet sand. "Not just a little, but very scared."

Her heart clenched at his words.

Raghuveer..... the man who always seemed so strong, so unshakable...was afraid.

Afraid of love.

Afraid of falling.

Afraid of trusting.

She had never seen him like this before.

And somehow, that made her want to reach out to him even more.

"You should give it another try maybe" she said looking at the cooling water

"Maybe" he whispered

Vanshi turned to him, her gaze unwavering, her expression serious yet strangely comforting. The ocean breeze played with her hair, strands of it brushing against her face, but she didnโ€™t seem to care. Her entire focus was on him.

"I told you before love is never wrong," she said, her voice steady, firm. "Loving the wrong person is."

Raghuveer sucked in a breath, her words hitting him deeper than he expected.

she added, tilting her head slightly, her eyes searching his. "Aur woh pyaar hi kya jismein dard na ho?"

There was something about the way she said it.

Her voiceโ€”sharp yet soothing.

Her wordsโ€”piercing yet comforting.

He felt a strange warmth spreading in his chest, something unfamiliar yet oddly reassuring.

For a moment, he didnโ€™t know how to respond.

She wasnโ€™t mocking him.

She wasnโ€™t trying to console him with empty words.

She was justโ€ฆ being there.

And somehow, that was enough.

He let out a soft chuckle, shaking his head. "Hmm."

That was all he could say.

Just hmm.

Because how could he argue with that?

He glanced at her, taking in the way the soft glow of the setting sun illuminated her face, making her eyes sparkle.

She lookedโ€ฆ radiant.

Like she belonged here, like this moment was meant to happen.

And for the first time in a long time, he felt something shift inside him.

Maybe, just maybe, love wasnโ€™t the enemy.

Maybe, just maybeโ€ฆ it was her who could change everything.

Suddenly, Raghuveer's phone started ringing, breaking the quiet rhythm of the waves crashing against the shore.

He sighed, pulling it out of his pocket.

"Excuse me," he murmured to Vanshi before stepping away, though not too far.

He leaned against a tree, his posture relaxed but his mind anything but. His gaze remained fixed on Vanshi, watching the way she sat on the sand, her eyes twinkling as she looked at the children playing around.

The joy on her face was effortless, natural. She loved children.

And he..

He loved her.

Now, he couldn't deny it anymore.

Maybe.

Noโ€”not maybe.

Yes.

She was the girl his heart had been waiting for. The girl he never knew he needed.

His thoughts were interrupted by the voice on the other end of the call.

"Hello?" Rishi's voice came through.

"Tell," Raghuveer said, barely paying attention, his eyes still drawn to the way Vanshi laughed softly as a little girl ran past her, giggling.

"I hope Vanshi is not irritating you," Rishi joked.

Raghuveer's lips curved into a soft smile before he even realized it.

"She can never," he admitted, his voice unusually gentle. "Sheโ€™s cute and sweetโ€ฆ and I love the way she teases me."

The words had slipped out before he could stop them.

Rishi went completely silent for a second.

Thenโ€”

"Waitโ€ฆ broโ€ฆ are you in love?" Rishi gasped dramatically.

Raghuveer blinked.

His grip on the phone tightened slightly as realization hit him.

Yes.

Yes, he was in love.

But before he could even process it properly, Rishi's loud voice filled the line againโ€”

"That too with my sister?!" Rishi practically screamed in happiness.

Raghuveer exhaled sharply, his lips pressing into a thin line before he muttered, "Yes."

His eyes remained on Vanshi, her soft laughter still ringing in his ears.

He was in love with her.

He had fallen, and there was no going back.

"When are we going to hear the good news then?" Rishi teased, his tone filled with amusement.

Raghuveer scoffed, shaking his head.

"You asshole," he muttered. "Weโ€™re not even married yet."

Rishi snickered. "Yet?"

"To be honest, Kushaant needs a sister, I guess," Raghuveer shot back, playing along.

Rishi burst into laughter. "Weโ€™re working on it."

Before Raghuveer could reply, Rishi hung up the call, still chuckling.

Raghuveer stared at his phone for a moment, shaking his head, completely done with his best friend.

But as he slid his phone back into his pocket, his eyes naturally drifted toward Vanshi again.

His heart felt lighter.

This feelingโ€”this warmthโ€”he didnโ€™t know when it started.

But now, he was sure of one thing.

He was in love with Vanshi.

And for the first time, the thought didnโ€™t scare him.

Maybe? Maybe...no! For sure they were made for eachother.
