Leo- (New POV)

I stare at Elias as he sleeps. He doesn't even look peaceful as he sleeps. He's tense, too tense for a 13 year old. I look down at my notes. I wrote everything down that the doctor told me, everything Elias has said, everything Alvaro has mentioned, everything. Nothing is too small. Between his past, his injuries, and his mental health. We need to be knowledgeable in all his symptoms, behaviors, and his personality. I mean he's definitely got some touching issues, most likely from the abuse he went through. His anger issues, that could because of him being a teenager or it could be a symptom of his possibles schizophrenia. He has issues letting someone telling him what to do. That's from him taking care of himself his whole life, he's never has someone who truly cares about him, someone who takes the reins and makes sure he takes care of himself. From what Alvaro told me about last night he most likely has insomnia. That is also another possible symptom of schizophrenia. He's definitely paranoid, he doesn't feel safe anywhere. In his hospital room, outside, in a car none of it is safe for him. His restlessness could also be cause by schizophrenia. That goes hand-in-hand with his paranoia. He's paranoid so he can't stay in one place for too long or things get overwhelming. Alvaro told me about how his eyes darted everywhere, like he was seeing to many things, was hearing to many things. It's all one big confusing situation.

We need to set up appointments with psychiatrists, pediatricians, physical therapists, therapists, everything. He has no vaccination records past 3 years old. He's susceptible to literally anything. Tetanus, whooping cough, MMR, Chicken pox, small pox, influenza, mumps, measles, and so many more. If we plan on sending him to school he needs all these vaccinations. The vaccination records he had were fake. It makes me so mad that his mother and stepfather went through so many hoops to fake all of this but couldn't take care of him. Instead of just going to the doctors and getting him the vaccines he needed they faked his records. That is so much harder than going to the doctor with no money or insurance. They weren't just neglectful parents, they were abusive. They didn't actually care about him in any sense.

I sigh, looking through all my notes, forming a plan to make sure he gets the medical help he needs. He needs to be healthy before we focus on schooling yet.

"What's wrong?" Alvaro asks me quietly.

"They faked his vaccination records. He has had no vaccinations past 3 years old. He's susceptible to so many deadly diseases right now. His mother and stepfather didn't just neglect him. No they jumped through so many hoops to make sure he'd suffer. No proper schooling, no vaccinations, no food, no hygiene nothing. I'd bet money they never taught him how to take care of himself. That only makes me wonder who did." I tell Alvaro

"So what kind of appointments do we need to go ahead and set up? How many doctors do we have to look for?"

"He at least needs a pediatrician, therapist, psychiatrist, physical therapist even a dentist. He has absolutely no dental records. How many cavities does he have? Did he loose all his baby teeth? Will he need braces? Surgery? I mean there's nothing!" I get up from my seat and start to pace. He has nothing, he's so behind in everything it will take years for him to catch up. He could have died from so many diseases because of their abuse.

"Leo, I understand how frustrating this is, we have to start from the ground up with him. We will get him all the doctors he needs you know this. We can't focus on the what ifs. If we do that then we go down a rabbit hole that we don't need to. It will only cause stress on us and Elias, and Elias doesn't need any kind of stress on him right now."

I just pace, I know Alvaro is right but that doesn't make it any easier. I want Elias to be able to relax but with how behind he is on appointments we need to start asap. We can't waste another second, I mean how much permanent damage has already been done?

"Okay we need to get these appointments going immediately. Start with the pediatrician and dentists before going to any kind of specialists. We need him to have the basics before we focus on anything else." I tell him as I sit down. I immediately pull out my computer and start researching pediatricians. I would like to find one that focuses on abuse victims, one that will understand Elias's situation.

We spend the next 2 1/2 hours finding a good pediatrician and dentist. He has an appointment with the pediatrician tomorrow at 2. Her name is Dr.Brown, she specializes in pediatric cases that have dealt with abuse and neglect. I was able to communicate with her and get her to squeeze us in tomorrow. We're focusing on vaccinations. He won't be able to do a physical for a few months at least, but I expected that.

Alvaro was able to find a reputable dentist that also specializes in neglect. Dr.Roberts, he's deals more with children than teens but he will better understand what needs to be done without being judgmental. Elias's appointment is again tomorrow at 11am. This is a good start, getting all the basics out of the way before anything can hit us from the rear.

We're about to land and Elias is out cold, his body is relaxed, no doubt the pain killers but his face is still tight.

"Do you want to carry him or wake him up?" I ask Alvaro. As much as I would love to carry Alvaro I can't. He isn't comfortable with me, hell he's barely comfortable with Alvaro.

"I'll wake him up. But he won't be walking, I will carry him but I want him to know what's going on." He tells me. I feel the plane land and look back over to Elias. He hasn't even flinched. Those painkillers must be stronger than I thought.

Alvaro walks up to Elias and gently shakes him awake. Elias barely peaks his eyes opens and grunts. I'm 90% sure that he's not even aware of what's going on. I see his face fall into a pout as Alvaro speaks to him.

"Elias, the plane landed, we need to get off and walk to the car. I'm going to pick you up now. You can continue sleeping if you want."

Alvaro picks Elias up, blanket and all. He shifts him in a position where it won't aggravate his stitches on his stomach and starts walking out of the plane.

Elias is still sleeping, his head laying on Alvaros shoulder with the blanket wrapped around him. I grab our bags and walk into the SUV with Alvaro. Elias is now sitting in the middle of the back seat. His body leaned into Alvaro as he sleeps the day away. He really needs it.

The drive to the house isn't long, just about 25 minutes. As we pull up I'm texting the boys. Making sure they're quiet and asking if Elias room is done for now.

Leo- we're pulling up now, is Elias's room done?

Marco- yes, his bed is built and it's got all the basic furniture, does he need help unloading?

Leo- no, he's asleep and he needs to stay that way. I will come in and explain everything but he is severely injured. He has no bags to be brought up.

Marco- WDYM he has NO bags?? AND HE'S INJURED?? WHAT HAPPENED??

Leo- I will explain once he is laid in bed and comfortable. I want everyone in the sitting room.

We open the doors to the car, Alvaro still carrying Elias. We walk inside and like I told them it's quiet. Alvaro walks upstairs and walks into Elias's room, laying Elias on his new bed. I see him pull a piece of paper out of his pocket, along with a pen and write a note.

Alvaros note

Elias. You are currently in your room, you were asleep throughout the plane and car ride so I carried you. I woke you up to tell you what was going on but you weren't very aware. Dinner will be at 7 and if you would like you can eat in your room. I or Leo will come wake you up if you're not awake by 7. After dinner we have much to discuss about.

Love, Alvaro

We both walk out of his room, shutting the door quietly. We walk downstairs and see the boys sitting down, legs bouncing, and fingers twitching.

This is going to be so much fun...

Double update. I really didn't feel like writing their convo so I didn't. Hehehe

Anyways what do ya'll think of Alvaro as a character? I think he's sweet. The amount of stories where the eldest brother is cold and uncaring is insane. Alvaro is human, he has feelings obviously.

Don't forget to vote/comment, I respond to most if not all questions.
