(POV In-ho/Frontman)
I took another look at the timer which said 08:13 minutes remaining until the explosion, my gun pointing at the massive iron door who just burst open. I was about to pull the trigger when I suddenly froze – I couldn't believe my eyes because what I saw relieved and terrified me at the same time. Around twenty men dressed in black were standing there, armed with machine guns and behind them I could see dozens of bloody bodies in pink suits. Two people stood at the front leading them, two people I recognized immediately and probably the last two people on earth I had expected: "Mi-na... Jun-ho...", I gasped. "How the hell...?" Both grinned satisfied with their successful surprise and Mi-na was the first one to talk: "I thought I'd work for your brother instead, since he doesn't make me wear those ridiculous red suits looking like the dudes from Casa de papel." Speechless I looked from her to Jun-ho who couldn't resist to make a cool move, blowing the muzzle of his gun, a wide grin on his face.
"Hello, brother.", he said. He'd have probably continued talking as Mi-na looked around, realizing the situation. "Where's Gi-hun? Oh sh!t, don't tell me you catapulted him out of this place and activated the bomb??"
"Well, of course I did, what else was I supposed to do!?", I shouted in panic, "And what the fck are you guys all doing here, now you're all going to die since this place is about to blow up any minute!" Only seconds ago I had been at ease with my near death but now I was forced to see how my loved ones would be killed as well because no ship in the world could be fast enough to go so far that the explosion wouldn't catch it.
"Well in that case we shouldn't waste any more time.", Jun-ho said, grabbed my wrist and pulled me with him, the others all following us. "Jun-ho, you don't understand, we have 07:58 minutes left on the timer, even if we reach your ship, there's no possible way that we get away far enough.", I yelled but he didn't listen and kept running straight on. Mi-na knew every exit and she was so determined leading the way that even I caught a glimpse of hope. We ran through the deserted corridors towards the hatch in the ceiling which I had been using with Gi-hun that same morning... it seemed like it had been in another life.
"Up there, everyone hurry, the engine is already running, we need to make it out of here!", Jun-ho shouted and I racked my brain what kind of crazy plan he had come up with now. Him and I were the last exiting the hatch and then I saw it: "You got yourself a helicopter?", I asked, completely stunned. Jun-ho shrugged his shoulders.
"Since you successfully smuggled one of your henchmen onto our boat, I thought I should change the means of locomotion.", he answered as we made the last steps towards the helicopter who was already taking off. "Quick!", he shouted and pulled me through the door – as I heard a shot.
Already halfway inside the helicopter I instantly turned around and saw an elderly man, probably one of the VIPs, climbing out of the hatch, his gun pointing at me.
"Where the hell do you think you're going, Frontman!", he yelled, "You come back this instant and take me with you!" The helicopter had taken off and moved away towards the open sea and I thought we had escaped – as I heard a shot. The last thing I saw was the VIP's gun, still pointing at me, then I felt a sharp pain in my tummy. I heard the people around me screaming as I broke down and fell into the darkness.
The bullet had hit me causing a fatal wound. I didn't see anymore how Jun-ho caught me as I was sinking to the ground, not knowing if the helicopter was fast enough to escape the explosion, not knowing if my saviors would make it out alive. However they managed to find each other and then me, I was shot not knowing if they succeeded to save the whole troop. I never knew if Gi-hun made it to Korea's cost unharmed or if something was wrong with the parachute. I didn't hear the explosion when the whole island blew up and my former kingdom got completely eradicated, I didn't feel how the helicopter was shaking and the pilot gave his all to avoid crashing. I didn't hear the cries of my brother and sister-in-law, desperately trying to stop the blood spreading from my wound, keeping me alive, I didn't hear them screaming at the pilot to head directly to the nearest hospital as fast as possible. I was on the edge between life and death where fate flips a coin, deciding if I was given a chance to fight or to never wake up again.
