The next day at school was like walking into a dream.

Or maybe a movie.

You know those scenes where everything is all bright and happy, and the main character is just glowing with love?

That was me.

I wasn't in school with Rain, which made me a bit sad. I missed her already, even though I had just seen her last night. I knew it was only been a day.

I found myself constantly checking my phone, seeing if she had texted. It was pathetic, but I couldn't help it. She was just that awesome.

It felt like if she stopped talking to me, I'll go crazy.

My friends, Ira and Ren, were giving me the side eye. I could tell they were judging me, but I didn't care.

They're just jealous I found a girlfriend, while they're still single.

"Dude, you're acting like a creep" Ira said. "You keep staring at your phone."

"And you're blushing a lot too. Who's got you all worked up?" Ren said, sighing. He was probably just jealous I had something to be happy about, and he was stuck reading his books.

I knew I couldn't lie. Ira and Ren were my best friends, even if they were being annoying right now. "It's... it's a girl" I mumbled, avoiding eye contact.

Ira gasped dramatically. "Oh my god, no way! Our little Y/N has finally fallen!" He threw his hands up.

"I told you he was a romantic," Ren said, smirking. "Who is she?"

I groaned. I knew I couldn't hide it any longer. "Her name is Rain. We met the other day when it was raining, and I walked her home" I admitted, feeling my cheeks flush even more. "She's great"

I told them everything. From the first time I saw her in front of the cafe, to our date at the park, to our first kiss.

I told them how I felt when she did all of that. I wanted to tell everyone.

Ira's eyes widened. "Woah, you're going all out, huh? Like a movie scene! So, she's like some perfect girl then?"

"She is" I said, smiling to myself. "She's so sweet and kind, and she likes the same things I like. She's... she's perfect." She knows everything to say to me.

Closing his book Ren asked "Does she go to our school?"

"No, not here" I replied, and that made me a bit sad. I wished we were together all the time. I'm too attached, but that was just who I was. I wanted to always be with Rain. "She lives nearby, though."

"Well, that's good for you then, Romeo" Ira said, patting me on the back. "But seriously, bring her to the next hangout. We wanna meet the girl who finally made you smile."

"Maybe" I said, smiling as I felt a buzz in my pocket. It was a text from Rain.

Rain: hey y/n! just thinking about you <3 how's school?

Y/N: hey rain! school's kinda boring, missing you a lot :( my friends know about you now!

Rain: aw, that's so sweet. i'm missing you too <3 your friends? oh no haha i'm kinda nervous now! But i know you are always there for me.

Y/N: don't be! they're cool. i'll introduce you soon

Rain: can't wait maybe we can get some lunch together tomorrow?

Y/N: yeah that would be great! see you then.

I smiled and quickly put my phone back in my pocket, my heart filled with anticipation. Even if school was boring, just knowing I would see Rain tomorrow was enough to get me through the day.

The rest of the day dragged on, each class feeling longer than the last. I couldn't focus, my mind constantly wandering back to Rain. I found myself doodling her name on my notebook, smiling like an idiot.

I wasn't even ashamed to admit I was falling head over heels for her. It was a good feeling, I thought. I finally felt happy.

During lunch, Ira and Ren dragged me to their usual spot behind the school. It was a nice spot, away from the crowded cafeteria.

I usually enjoyed the quiet, but today, I couldn't stop fidgeting.

"So" Ira said, "what are you two lovebirds gonna do tomorrow?" He wiggled his eyebrows, teasing me.

"We're just getting lunch" I mumbled, trying to hide my excitement. "It's nothing big."

"Yeah, sure. 'Just lunch'" Ren said, rolling his eyes, but there was a smile on his face. "You're so whipped, dude, it's amazing."

"You guys are such dorks" I said, but there was no heat behind my words.

As we ate, a girl walked past us, giggling. I didn't pay much attention, but then, Ira let out a low whistle.

"Hey there, Emi!" he called out, waving at the girl.

The girl turned back, a bright smile on her face. She had long, wavy brown hair, and bright green eyes. "Hey, Ira! Hey, Ren. Hey, Y/N," she said, her voice bubbly.

"Emi, you know our friend, right?" Ira said, gesturing to me. "He finally got a girlfriend. And get this, she's apparently perfect!"

Emi's eyes widened. "Oh my god, really? Y/N, you sly dog! Who is she?"

"Her name's Rain," I mumbled, looking down at my food.

"Rain? That's a pretty name!" Emi said, sitting down next to Ira. "Is she in our school?"

"Nope" I said.

"Oh, well, maybe we can meet her sometime, yeah?" Emi said, smiling at me. I nodded, still feeling a bit awkward.

This was so weird.

Emi joined our lunch, and the four of us talked about random things. We talked about school, gossip, video games, music.

I didn't mind her company. She was nice, friendly, and she was easy to talk to.

"So what video games do you guys like playing" Emi said, as she turned to me.

What the? this felt familiar.

But my mind kept drifting back to Rain.

I excused myself after lunch, saying I had to go to the library. I just wanted to be alone to text Rain again. I pulled out my phone and saw that she sent me another text.

Rain: i'm so excited for tomorrow! i've been thinking about where we should go hehe

Y/N: me too! i was just thinking about you. i can't wait to see you again.

Rain: see you soon then!

I smiled to myself. I couldn't wait for tomorrow. Everything felt good, but strange. That feeling, like I've already done this before.

Deja Vu? No way.

The rest of the day passed without anything interesting happening. As soon as the last bell rang, I ran out of school, practically sprinting home.

I had a lot of things to prepare for tomorrow. I wanted to impress Rain, to show her how much I cared for her. I wanted to be the best boyfriend I could be.

When I arrived at home, my mom was there, waiting with a smile on her face. She had been wanting to talk to me all day.

She noticed I was happier recently, and she wanted to know the reason.

"Y/N, you've been so happy lately, what's going on?" She asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

I blushed a bit. "Um... well..." I started, feeling a bit embarrassed. "I... I have a girlfriend, Mom."

Her eyes widened. "Oh my goodness, Y/N! That's wonderful!" she said, clapping her hands together. "I knew that someone would fall for my sweet boy! What's her name? When can I meet her? You have to introduce me!"

"Her name's Rain" I said, smiling. "And... well, maybe soon. I can introduce her to you soon."

My mom hugged me tightly. "I'm so happy for you, Y/N."

I hugged her back. I was glad that my mom was happy for me. I was glad that everything seemed to be going well. Everything did seem to be going well.

"I am, Mom" I said, with a smile. "I'm very happy." The warmth of her hug felt good, comforting.

I went to my room, feeling like I was on top of the world. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. I looked good, I thought. I had to be perfect for Rain.

Everything had to be perfect.

I spent the rest of the evening planning for my date with Rain, choosing the perfect outfit, making sure I had everything ready.

I didn't want anything to go wrong. I wanted everything to be perfect, for Rain. I felt like I would do anything for her, and that made me smile.

I was so in love. I wanted to ask Ira and Ren, but they would judge me too much.

Everything seemed good. I was gonna go on a date with the perfect girl tomorrow. Life was like one of those romantic movies.

Maybe it would work, maybe it wouldn't, but I had a feeling that it would. I want it to work.

"Maybe I can do it this time, after all" I said, to no one at all.

I finally found happiness, and nothing would take that away from me. I would do anything for Rain, just like she was happy.

"You know, if she asked me to give up everything to be with her I think I would. As long as she was happy that is" I said, looking around as if someone would judge me.

As I laid in bed that night, looking at the ceiling again, I couldn't help but think about Rain and all the possibilities for our future together.

The world felt so bright and amazing. I drifted off to sleep, with a smile on my face, ready to face tomorrow.

I was the luckiest guy in the world, and nothing could change that.

I fell asleep, dreaming of Rain and our future together.

I dreamt about our wedding, our house, our kids, our life, our everything. And in my dreams, everything was perfect.

I smiled, as my eyes finally closed. I didn't know what tomorrow would bring, but I knew, deep down, that it would be amazing.

I was ready to face anything, as long as I had Rain by my side. And that thought made me fall asleep happy.

The happiest I could be.

Before finally falling asleep, I heard a weird song.

I didn't think too much of it but maybe the neighbors were just partying.
