Chapter 16

In the morning

Nani woke up early, the soft warmth of the bed making it tempting to stay longer. But as he turned to see Sky still asleep, peaceful and unaware of the world, a small smile tugged at his lips. He leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss against Sky's cheek.

"What should I do with you, Sky?" he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.

With one last glance, he quietly got out of bed and changed into his clothes. Once he was ready, he made his way to the guest room where Win and Dew were still passed out.

Win, as expected, was still half-asleep, sprawled across the bed like he had no responsibilities in the world. With a smirk, Nani grabbed a pillow and hurled it straight at Win's head.

"Get up, idiot." Nani said, watching as Win groaned, rubbing his face.

"You're so annoying." Win mumbled, voice thick with sleep.

Dew, on the other hand, was already stirring, more disciplined than Win, though he still took his time stretching before getting up.

Once everyone was ready, they went downstairs, only to find Sky's whole family already up and preparing ingredients for the restaurant. The scent of fresh herbs and sizzling garlic filled the air, making it clear they had been awake for quite some time.

Sky's mother looked up with a warm smile. "Have some breakfast before you go, dear."

Nani gave a polite smile and bowed his head slightly. "Thank you auntie, but we should get going. We have to be at the company soon."

Sky's mother nodded in understanding, sending them off with well wishes. As soon as they left, Sky's sister-in-law, turned her attention upstairs, where a certain sleepyhead was still missing.

Not one to be gentle, she cupped her hands around her mouth and shouted, "SKY! GET UP!"

A groggy Sky stumbled down the stairs minutes later, his hair a mess, eyes still half-closed. He looked like he hadn't fully returned to reality yet.

She smirked, lowering her voice so only he could hear. "Tsk, tsk. You had a once-in-a-lifetime chance to have someone as cool as Nani sleeping over, and what do you do? Sleep through it and let him leave just like that."

Sky groaned, rubbing his face with both hands before squinting at her. "...You're being so loud in the morning, P. Are you not scared of karma?"

She raised an eyebrow, arms crossed. "Karma? What's karma gonna do? Make me trip on my way to the kitchen? Please." She scoffed. "That's just called being clumsy, Sky. And you are the only in the family that being clumsy all the time."

Sky yawned, shuffling toward the kitchen with all the energy of a zombie. "Still... you talk too much," he mumbled, nearly walking straight into the fridge.

Sky's mother, who was walking by, patted his head. " Dear. Eat your breakfast. It almost time for your class." Sky flashed her a sweet smile before stepping forward and wrapping his arms around her in a warm hug.

Her sister in law, watching from the side, shook her head with a smirk. "God, you really are just a kid in an adult's body." Sky pouted at her, looking thoroughly unimpressed.

Sky opened the fridge, rummaging around before pulling out a few ingredients.

His mother raised an eyebrow. "There's already food on the table, dear. What are you doing?"

Sky, focused on his task, simply replied, "I'm making something for my friend at university."

His mother hummed in understanding, not questioning him further. But his sister in law wasn't about to let this slide. She sauntered over, leaning against the counter with a sly grin.

"You say it's for a 'friend,' but let's be real." she drawled, eyeing him with mischief. "That friend just left this house a few minutes ago, didn't he?" She leaned in, her smirk widening.

Sky nearly dropped the egg he was holding. He fumbled, barely managing to crack it properly without making a mess.

She let out a dramatic gasp. "Oh my god, you're blushing!"

"I am not!" Sky hissed, quickly turning his back to her, as if that would somehow hide the warmth creeping up his face.

"You so are!" Arisa cackled. "Look at you, all flustered—"

Sky frantically waved his hand, signaling for her to lower her voice, his eyes darting around nervously. She snorted but nodded, still grinning like she had just uncovered the world's biggest secret.

"Sky" she said after a moment, her tone turning just a little more thoughtful. "I don't know what exactly is going on between you and that 'cool' friend of yours, but..." She tilted her head, studying him. "I can tell he's holding something back, too. You should figure that out before you end up being this flustered over him forever."

"It's not that I don't want to do something about it," Sky mumbled, poking at the pan. "But he told me to wait."

She raised an eyebrow. "So you already confessed, and he just told you to wait?" She let out a low whistle. "Damn. He really knows how to play game."

Sky snapped his head up, frowning. "He's not playing with me, P. Don't talk about him like that."

"Sky, really? You say you can wait, but how long do you think that'll be? What if he never figures things out? What if something more important comes along, and he just" she hesitated, watching Sky's expression carefully "pushes his feelings aside?"

Sky's grip on the spatula tightened, his chest clenching at her words. He always believe that wouldn't happen, that Nani wouldn't just abandon whatever was between them.

She could see the conflict written all over his face. She wasn't trying to scare him.She could see that Nani, Win, and Dew came from a completely different world. A world of wealth and status, where responsibilities and expectations often took priority over personal feelings. And Sky? Sky was still just a kid who did what his family told him, who hesitated even when choosing his own future. He's too innocent, and she doesn't want him to get hurt.

She sighed, softer this time. "I just don't want you to get hurt, Sky. You might think you're ready to wait, but if waiting means suffering, then is it really worth it?"

Sky didn't reply. He just looked at her, eyes filled with quiet worry, as if he had never considered that possibility before.

After finishing his classes, Sky went straight to Nani's company. Lisa, as usual, welcomed him and told him that Nani was still in a meeting. "You can wait in his office like always." she said with a smile.

Sky nodded, making his way inside. He was used to waiting for Nani here, but today, something felt different, an unease he couldn't quite shake.

A few minutes later, the door swung open. Expecting to see Nani, Sky perked up, but the person who entered wasn't him. Instead, it was a stunningly beautiful woman, her elegance radiating the same air of privilege as Nani, Win, and Dew.

She glanced at Sky with a slightly curious look before assuming, "You must be Nani's new assistant. Can you bring me a glass of water?"

Sky blinked, momentarily caught off guard. He wasn't sure who she was, but she spoke with such confidence that he just nodded and did as she asked, placing the glass on the table in front of her.

Just as he set it down, the door opened again, and this time, it was Nani.

The moment Nani saw Sky standing there, receiving order for someone, his expression darkened. He didn't like it. At all.

Tul, however, was completely unaware of Nani's shift in mood. She smiled brightly and walked over, greeting him with a warm hug.

Sky froze. His heart sank a little at the sight.

Nani wanted to tell Tul right then and there that he didn't like her ordering Sky around. He didn't want Sky doing anything for anyone, no matter how small. But he also didn't want to show his possessive side in front of Sky.

So instead, he turned to Sky and said in a neutral tone "Sky, Go to Win's office for now. I'll find you later."

Sky hesitated for a moment, misunderstanding the situation entirely. Was Nani asking him to leave because he wanted to spend more time with her? Feeling an unexpected weight in his chest, Sky nodded silently and left without a word.

When he arrived at Win's office, Win immediately sensed something was off.

"what's wrong? Sky" Win asked lifting his face form his laptop. Normally sky went straight to Nani''s office not his office.

Sky shook his head, forcing a small smile. "Nothing." He placed the meal he had prepared for Nani on Win's desk. "You can have this. I need to go." Win frowned, clearly confused.

But Sky didn't answer. He simply said goodbye and walked out, his heart heavy. A while later, Nani came looking for Sky, but when he arrived at Win's office, Win gave him a confused look.

"Sky? He already left" Win said, crossing his arms. "Mind telling me why he looked like someone just stole you from him?"

Nani's expression tightened as he pulled out his phone and called Sky, but there was no answer, his frustration grew.

He wanted to drop everything and go find Sky, but he still had another important meeting with executives from other companies. One he couldn't cancel, no matter how much he wanted to.

Win, watching him closely, leaned against his desk. "Whatever you did, you better fix it fast." he said, amused but also genuinely concerned. "Sky's not the type to sulk for no reason."

Nani glanced at Win, his frustration still evident in the way he held himself. "Tul's in my office" he muttered, his tone heavy.

Win's expression instantly brightened at the mention of Tul. "Wait, Tul's here?" but before he could get too excited, his face shifted as realization hit him.

"Hold on," Win said slowly, the pieces clicking together in his mind. "Sky... He saw you and Tul, didn't he?"

Nani's face dropped, his shoulders slumping as he rubbed the back of his neck in frustration. "Yeah, he did."

Win's gaze softened with understanding. "Ah, I get it now. Sky must have thought....... that you were too friendly with her? And now he's sulking?" He paused. "You better go talk to him, Nani. That boy's got feelings, and they're probably all over the place right now."

Nani sighed, frustration still lingering, but now mixed with concern.
