Chapter 20

As the days passed, Sky finally received permission from the doctor to be discharged. The moment they got in the car, Nani wasted no time bringing up the one thing that had been bothering him the most.

"You're not riding that damn motorbike again," Nani said firmly.

Sky sighed, already expecting this conversation. "I can't just stop, Nani. It's for my dad's business. I need to help him."

Nani shot him a sharp glare. "You got into an accident, Sky. Your hand still hasn't fully healed, and here you are saying you'll get back on that thing again?" His voice was laced with frustration.

Sky stayed quiet, staring down at his lap. He knew Nani was only worried about him, but he also knew he couldn't just quit. After a long silence, he finally spoke, his voice softer this time. "I'll be more careful. I promise there won't be another accident."

Nani scoffed, eyes fixed on the road, but Sky could feel the frustration radiating off of him.

"If you dare to ride that motorbike again," Nani said, voice low and dangerous, "don't tell me I didn't warn you." Sky turned to him, brows furrowed. "Warn me about what?"

"I'll break that damn thing myself."

Sky gaped at him, completely in disbelief. "You're insane." Nani didn't respond, but Sky knows that Nani absolutely meant it.

Letting out an exasperated sigh, Sky leaned back against the seat, muttering under his breath, "How can I fall for someone so scary?"

Nani finally turned his head, raising an eyebrow. "What was that?"

Sky quickly looked away, pretending to admire the view outside the window. "Nothing!" But the slight smirk tugging at Nani's lips told Sky that he had definitely heard it.

As they reached Sky's father's restaurant, Sky immediately noticed something was different. There were more staff members than usual, moving around busily yet efficiently. It didn't take long for him to put the pieces together.

The moment they stepped inside, a few of the new staff turned toward Nani and greeted him politely, as if they knew him.

Sky narrowed his eyes. Nani simply glanced at Sky as he understand what is Sky thinking and said "More people means less pressure for you." His voice was casual.

Sky's chest tightened. "That must've cost a lot of money....."

"It doesn't matter." Nani cut him off, his tone firm but gentle.

Sky was still about to protest when his father stepped out from the kitchen. At the sight of them, he called for the staff to prepare a meal for both of them. But something was... odd. His father's expression, his tone, it was too friendly toward Nani. Not that his father had ever been rude to Nani before, but this was different.

Sky's eyes darted between the two of them, suspicion creeping into his mind.

What the hell happened while he was in the hospital?

What Sky didn't know, what no one had told him, was that after everything had been cleared up between them, Nani had gone to meet Sky's parents.

He had asked for their permission to be in a relationship with Sky.

At first, Sky's entire family had been shocked. They never imagined their son would be in a romantic relationship with a man, let alone someone from such a wealthy and powerful background. The idea itself was enough to leave them speechless.

But then Nani had said something that struck deep.

"I love your son." he admitted, his voice unwavering yet filled with an emotion he could no longer hide. "More than I ever thought I could love anyone. More than I ever imagined was possible for me." He took a steady breath, his fingers curling slightly against his knees. " If there's anything I can do to make his life easier, to take care of him, I'll do it without a second thought. That's why I'm here, because he matters enough for me to ask for your permission first."

Sky's mother had been sure her husband would be furious. She had prepared herself for an argument. But to her surprise, he didn't get angry.

Sky's father didn't speak right away. Instead, he sat there, staring at the young man before him, the weight of his thoughts unreadable. Then, after what felt like an eternity, he finally exhaled.

"I've watched my son grow up," he began, his voice gruff yet strangely soft. "I know him better than anyone. And lately... he's been different." His sharp gaze met Nani's. "Lighter. Happier. I couldn't figure out why. But now, I think I understand." his expression unreadable, but his words carried the weight of a father's love.

"If you're the reason my son is smiling more these days, then I won't stand in your way." He paused, his voice lowering with quiet intensity. "But hear me well, I will never forgive anyone who dares to hurt him."

Nani didn't hesitate. "I would never hurt him." he vowed, his voice firm, carrying a promise he intended to keep for the rest of his life.

And just like that, Sky's father nodded in approval.

Now, as Sky sat across from Nani in the restaurant, completely oblivious to the conversation that had taken place behind his back, he couldn't shake the nagging feeling that something was off.

Why was his father acting like this?

And more importantly... what exactly had Nani done?

As the food arrived, Nani took it upon himself to take care of everything for Sky, just as he had done for the past few days. He carefully arranged the dishes, making sure Sky had everything he needed. And then, without hesitation, he picked up a spoonful of food and held it up to Sky's lips.

Sky's eyes widened in alarm, and he quickly grabbed Nani's wrist. "Nani, there are a lot of people here." he whispered urgently, his face already starting to heat up.

But when had Nani ever listened to him?

Completely ignoring Sky's protest, Nani gently nudged the spoon forward, his gaze calm yet unwavering. "And?" he replied. "You still can't use your hand properly. Someone has to feed you."

Sky wanted to argue, wanted to push Nani's hand away but the intensity in Nani's eyes made his resolve crumble. Hesitantly, he parted his lips and let Nani feed him, the action feeling far too intimate in a place full of people.

And just when Sky thought it couldn't get any worse, Nani casually brought the same spoon to his own lips, taking a bite. Sky nearly choked. His face turned red in an instant.

"Why are you—" He stammered, looking around in. Nani arched an eyebrow, chewing slowly. "What?" he said, completely unfazed. "I did this in the hospital too. Didn't hear you complaining back then."

Sky pressed his lips together, his entire face burning. Back then, it had just been the two of them. But now, they were in his family's restaurant with staff, customers, and his own parents around. How could Nani be this shameless?

Before he could come up with a retort, the door swung open, and Dew and Win strolled in. Win glanced around, looking mildly annoyed.

"We went to the hospital and didn't find you there," Win complained. "You could've at least told us you were already discharged."

Dew, ever the observant one, didn't respond right away. His sharp eyes flickered between Sky and Nani. Sky's awkward expression, and the way Nani seemed perfectly at ease.

Win was still grumbling under his breath when Dew suddenly leaned closer and whispered, "Win... I think our heartless friend might have already solved his problem."

Win paused, blinking. He looked back at Sky and Nani "...Oh." Win smirked.

Win and Dew exchanged a glance, both coming to the same silent conclusion. whatever tension had existed between Sky and Nani before was now completely gone.

Win grinned and slid into the seat next to Sky, casually resting his chin on his palm. "So," he drawled, looking between them, "when were you planning to tell us?"

Sky froze mid-chew, his face heating up all over again. "Tell you what?" he asked, pretending not to know what Win was implying.

Win let out a dramatic sigh. "Come on, Sky. Do you really think we're blind?" He gestured toward Nani, who was calmly picking out the bones from fish for Sky. "Nani is literally acting like a devoted housewife right now."

Sky choked, quickly grabbing a tissue to cover his mouth.

"So? When did this happen?"

Nani didn't even look up as he replied "A few days ago." His tone was so nonchalant that it almost sounded like he was talking about the weather.

Sky, on the other hand, felt like he was burning from head to toe. "Can you guys stop talking like this is some kind of breaking news?" he muttered before Nani feed him another spoon.

Win smirked. "It is breaking news. Nani, the guy who never gives a damn about anyone, is suddenly playing nurse, feeding you, and......."

"And?" Nani finally looked up, his sharp gaze cutting straight into Win's playful one.

Win faltered for a second, but only for a second. "And acting like you're already married."

Sky groaned, wanting nothing more than to disappear.

Dew shook his head, amused. "Well, I guess that means Tul doesn't need to explain anything anymore."

At the mention of her name, Sky stiffened. Dew was about to answer, but Win beat him to it, waving his hand dismissively. "We thought you were still mad at Nani, so we brought her to clear things up. You know, just in case you thought he was actually two-timing you."

Sky frowned. "You didn't have to do that."

"Obviously," Win said with a smirk. "Because looking at you two now, I think Nani already did a damn good job of proving where his heart is."

Nani finally set down his chopsticks and turned to Sky. "Are you still thinking about that?" he asked, his voice softer now, losing its usual sharpness.

Sky met his gaze, and for a moment, the noise of the restaurant faded into the background. "No," he admitted. "Not anymore."

Nani's lips twitched, as if holding back a smile. "Good."

Win sighed dramatically, nudging Dew. "Ugh. Look at them. It's disgusting."

Dew only chuckled. "You're just jealous."

Win scoffed. "Me? Jealous?" He shot Sky a teasing look. "Why would I be jealous when I know Sky has it worse? Nani's the scariest boyfriend material I can think of."
