Rachel's POV

The relief that washed over me was so overwhelming.

We both made it out.

She was staring at me and I was as well. Our eyes held the same amount of longing and fear, "L-love?" My mate spoke, her voice laced with hesitation.

I couldn't speak. My voice was caught in my throat somehow, I just nodded at her words.

Not being to contain it anymore I shoved the two boys with the spears at me aside and ran towards my dear mate. Oh.. how wonderful it feels to be reunited with my sole life source.

I feel as if someone just gave me energy, my heart was pumping harder than before and my lungs felt like they were being saved from holding my breath ever since I got to the entrance of this little tree house.

"I won't let anyone take you away from me now. If someone tries I will cut their throat and feed their organs to the beasts." I growled lowly, my voice was laced with venom when picturing someone trying to take my woman away from me.

Kacy's hand touched my cheek with a tenderness that I will never forget, I leaned into her touch seemingly melting onto her hand.

I tilted my head and grasped her hand with my own-my lips found their way on her knuckles placing soft tender kisses. Her breath hitched for a second before she exhaled and relaxed into me.

I wrapped my arms around her torso pulling her close to me, her arms wrapped around my neck with one swift movement she placed her head on my chest. This moment is a very special one, I placed my face in her collarbone.

A deep rumble was emitted from me to which my mate responded by sending out a few purrs of her own. I lifted my head off her collar and pressed my lips to hers. Soft. Pillowy. Tender. unrushed.

She's a drug I can never recover from and I don't think I even want to try and recover.

A loud whistle broke us out of our lovely moment, "Woohoo! Yall look adorable and all but do that at a more appropriate time." Who is this girl?

"Yeah and get your mate off my bed, wouldn't want the queen to get bed bugs right?" Okay who are these people..

A guy that was shorter than the male that just spoke slapped him on the back of his head, "Where are our manners! I'm Rio, that is Eddie, and those two are Elise and Sam." What a energetic bunch huh?

Kacy was still clinging onto me like her life depended on it. Adorable really but I feel uneasy at the moment. Dunno why but I just do..

"Follow us we know a safe place." Elise said.

The six of us are walking through the forest occasionally tripping on rocks and logs, Eddie actually tripped on a log while he ran to scout the further area which led to us all bursting out laughing once we discovered him with his muzzle stuck in the dirt.

He growled at us before continuing his job, a loud howl signaled that the coast was clear.

"That's our signal, lets go." Rio said while picking up his pace and soon we were all running towards whatever he was leading us to.

"So how do you guys like our little group, your majesties?" Sam asked curiosity clear in her tone.

"You guys are a energetic bunch I will say that." I huffed out chuckling, Kacy grunted in agreement.

"Energetic? That's all Rio and Elise their energy really affects me and Eddie. Turned us both into talkers." A smile brimmed on my face, their group reminds me of Elizabeth back at my old crusty pack.

"Yeah! Thats- wait what are you guys even talking about?" Sam's description of Rio fits like a shoe by what he just said, they all look pretty young now that I think about it.

I glanced at Kacy who seemed to share the same question as me, How old are these kids?

"Sam is 16, i'm 17, Eddie is 19, and Rio is 15." Elise said, I could imagine her shrugging her shoulders.

"How'd you know I was about to ask?"

"Your face tells me everything dude. An open book I might say."

Yeah their ages fit their personalities a lot, Sam is the maturing teen, Elise is like a common sense kid, meanwhile Eddie and Rio are the 'Grumpy and Sunshine type.'

Amusing really but they all have such a sad distant look in their eyes sometimes.

Sam had one right now actually.

"Shouldn't we have reached Eddie by now..?" She said, yeah we should've by now right?

"Nah don't worry Eddie can handle himself a lot, he won't cause any trouble." Rio claimed.

What? Is he even thinking about the same thing as Sam right now?

"What? No idiot i'm worried about him. He could be getting jumped by the Boss's Crushers right now!" What the hell is a Crusher? And Boss? Who's their boss?

Out of nowhere the three with us suddenly stopped panic talking, they had a cloudy look in their eyes before they looked at us. Okay I don't like this.

They couldn't get a word out before a dagger pierced the space between us. My head darted towards the direction it came, ten of those shadow things.

It's getting annoying now, I was holding back before but now I have this new powerful energy just waiting to be used in me.

"Ugh, man what the?" Is Rio always this unserious?

"Yup, that's him for you." Seems like I thought outloud.

"I need to release some steam anyways, right love?" Kacy asked me.

"You sure you can take some of them while your pregnant? Matter of fact, don't. We got it." She was caught off guard and I already knew why.

"Oh my goddess! Eddie found it!" Me and Kacy turned towards Elise confused, found what?

"He did?! Yes yes yes! We can finally execute our plan!"

"Shut up, guys! There is literally ten of those crushers a few yards away in front of us!"
