Narrator's POV

After Rachel passed out, the queen of livingsdale panicked provoking her to silently yell her mate's name making sure nobody else heard them. Now lets look at what is happening outside of the castle, what familiar battles are being fought. Shadows, figures blending into the shade of the forest trees somehow the knights are not able to get good hits on them but for the anonymous its the opposite.

Two sides, two different approaches of battle, and two different objectives. Surely Rachel passing out is not convenient right? No it quite is, that dragon necklace of hers is her protector, yes the reason she went inside was because of that! It burned provoking Rachel to go inside which is exactly what thee protector wanted. Her safety is their top priority to be exact.

Lets look into the past of the oh so special necklace shall we?

"Papa! Can Ethelmire come with us to the island? Please!!" A little boy once asked his father. But his father not being to fond of dragons said no. Leaving the boy's young dragon behind with the other village people.

"I'm scared papa when are we gonna get to the cool island..?" The single parent was not so sure himself when they would get there, he wasn't even sure if he wanted to go through with his plan. To get rid of his annoying child. To him children are nothing but annoying dogs that eat everything, his money, food, and life. He had a wife but she left him well for obvious reasons.

It was just him and his son on a wooden boat floating to an island that held nothing but corpse and dread. But that is not what he told his son, no why would he? His son was smart he knows that.

He told him that it was the happiness island with many dragons that he could tame many of his favorite fruit and food! What a liar men are.

Strong waves crashed into their small boat but it managed to keep its shape and sooner or later they arrived at the so called 'happiness island.'

"This is the island right dad?" His son oh his sweet innocent treacherous son, no it isn't the island her imagined! His death is near he just cannot sense it, well in the past few weeks his deaths were supposed to have happened already but that dragon, his protector has prevented the father's tricks.

The so called dragon, Ethelmire was a dragon that would grow to be strong-willed and to be a sign of fortune of health and wealth. That sign of fortune is not a sign when the dragon willingly provides it.

Yes this dragon in our world we would call it the Tyche dragon, it symbolizes fortune, luck, success, and prosperity.

Unfortunately, this dragon being distanced from it's bonded partner cannot do as their name means. Therefore this boy's unfortunate fortune is about to be a reality, a reality that Ethelmire was trying to prevent.

The father has successfully distracted the boy, he raises his hidden blade and slices the child's neck. He drops dead.

It has been 3 days since the murder, the dragon could feel it he has been grieving ever since and once the so called 'father' gets home he will kill him then seal his own fate in a dragon shaped rock provided by the gods.

That rock was later put on a necklace and given to a little girl in a moment of crisis. The Tyche dragon promises to never let his bonded partner to become friends with death once more.

These figures that are hidden in the shadows are after the girl with that necklace, their master wants it and he certainly makes sure he gets what he wants. But when the time comes that anonymous master will wreak havoc that Ethelmire will try to prevent.

That time is not now, right now this attack is gonna be presented as a sign that only Rachel can try to figure out. Afterall she is the protected child of the last Tyche dragon.

Kacy's POV

Its been hours since the sirens went off, when this battle is over the guards would come and get me in this hidden room that they were informed of. My mate, Rachel is in my arms still not awake but she is still breathing and for that I am thankful.

Another 30 minutes has passed and the guards have come to fetch us, I left my dear mate on my bed and followed the guards to be informed of what influenced this attack.

"It's completely uncalled for! We have no enemies we are neutral. WE have never seen anything like them!" Someone yelled out.

"Did anyone get a good look at their faces?" Another voice said but was more calm than the last.

"We outnumbered them but they had the advantage of surprise on us. Queen San we must do something!"

"I supposed your right. I Queen San demand all knights to be trained harder, focus on the element of stealth and surprise. That does not mean not focus on the other aspects." I said with determination to protect my kingdom, my lineage, and most of all my mate.

"Ah, I will get right to it but please I beg of you my Queen, do get Rachel to also train as well she could get some help to improve on it." I raised my eyebrows completely unheard of my mate knowing how to fight.

"She fights?" Dean my right-hand man nodded his head. How does he know?

"Yes, a few days ago she asked me to spar with her. Of course I declined at first because I do not wish to harm her but that turned on me as I was the one who ended up with many bruises." He chuckled embarrassingly. I did not know she was a experienced fighter, Dean is one of my best fighters.

"Don't get me wrong she is a great fighter but she is a little sloppy. I can only guess that she needs to freshen up on her abilities. So please get her in training my Queen."

That is not a bad idea. When she wakes up I will propose that idea to her, who knows? She could become head commander of the army if she is really that good.
