Chapter — Feverish and Flustered

Luca groaned as he curled deeper into the covers, his body burning up. His limbs felt heavy, his skin too warm, and his head was spinning. Even in his half-conscious state, he knew something was wrong.

A large, cool hand pressed against his forehead, making him whimper.

“Tch. You’re burning up,” Damien’s voice was both amused and laced with concern. “My poor little angel.”

Luca forced his eyes open, blinking up at Damien’s sharp, golden gaze. He was sitting on the edge of the bed, arms crossed, watching him like a predator watching its prettiest possession.

Luca let out a weak whine, burrowing his face into the pillow. “I feel horrible…”

Damien’s smirk widened. “Obviously you do.” He leaned down, voice lowering into a deep, teasing whisper. “You did take me three times last night, angel.”

Luca froze—his fever-ridden brain taking two full seconds to process Damien’s words before his entire face exploded into a deep, embarrassed red.

His breath hitched. His eyes welled up with mortified tears.

“D-Damien!” he wailed, voice cracking as he weakly shoved at Damien’s chest. “D-Don’t say that!”

Damien chuckled darkly, effortlessly catching Luca’s wrist and pulling it to his lips, pressing a kiss against his pulse.

“Why not?” His tone was nothing short of mocking. “I was simply reminding you, love. Your body must be so exhausted after last night.”

Luca sniffled, biting his lip as he turned his face away, fully hiding in the blanket. “You’re the worst,” he mumbled.

Damien leaned in, pressing a kiss to the shell of his ear. “Mmm." And you're so naive.

Luca only whined louder, curling up as Damien laughed.

“Alright, alright,” Damien sighed, finally softening. He pulled the blanket away just enough to see Luca’s flushed face. “Let’s cool you down, baby. I’ll take care of you.”

Luca peeked up at him with big, watery eyes. “Promise?”

Damien’s smirk turned into something softer, but no less possessive. He ran a hand through Luca’s hair, pressing a deep kiss to his damp forehead.

“Always.”

After half an hour

Damien reached for his phone, dialing a number.

“Cancel all my meetings today.”

There was a pause on the other end before his assistant nervously responded, “But sir, the—”

“Cancel them,” Damien growled, voice dropping to a deadly octave. His golden eyes flared with violent possessiveness as he gazed down at his flushed, lover.

“Nobody needs me more than my wife right now.”

Luca blinked up at him with big, watery eyes, curling closer. “wife?” he mumbled weakly.

Damien softened, running his fingers through Luca’s damp hair. Then, the door slammed open.

“LUCA!!”

Ava barreled into the room, her big eyes wide with panic.

“Are you okay? Papa said you’re sick! I told him he was too mean to you!” She climbed onto the bed immediately, pressing her tiny hands against Luca’s burning cheeks.

Luca sniffled, looking miserable. “Ava…”

Ava turned to Damien with a glare. “Did you make him sick, Papa?”

Damien’s smirk twitched. “Hn.” He leaned back, crossing his arms lazily. “You could say that.”

Luca whimpered. “Ava, don’t ask!”

But Ava only blinked, confused. “Huh? Why?”

Luca turned bright red, curling up into the blanket.

Damien only chuckled, fully entertained. He's just not in his senses because of fever. Adorable

“You wouldn’t understand, darling,” he hummed, patting her head.

Ava pouted, then turned back to Luca, gently hugging him. “It’s okay, Luca. I’ll take care of you. Not Papa—he’s mean.”

Damien raised an eyebrow. “Excuse me?”

Ava huffed. “You bullied Luca!”

Luca sniffled, nodding in agreement, but Damien only smirked.

“Then I guess I’ll just have to keep bullying him,” he mused, dragging his fingers along Luca’s bare shoulder.

Luca yelled in embarrassment, but Ava giggled, completely unaware.

And Damien?

He simply leaned back, possessively watching his two angels, knowing—without a doubt—he was going to love this day.

***** — Possessively Yours

Luca had never felt so sick in his life. His fever left him weak and utterly helpless, and worst of all? He was stuck between two of the most overbearing people in existence.

Ava and Damien.

One was an adorable yet bossy little girl, and the other was a dangerous mafia boss with absolutely no chill.

Luca whined weakly, curling deeper into the ridiculous amount of blankets piled over him. “I’m hot…”

Damien’s golden gaze darkened.

“I know you are,” he murmured, voice low.

Luca let out an offended gasp. “That’s not what I meant!”

Ava giggled beside him, patting his forehead like a nurse. “Don’t worry, Luca! I’ll take care of you!”

Damien’s brow twitched. “Excuse me?”

Ava turned to him with a pout. “You bullied Luca, so you don’t get to help!”

Damien smirked, tilting his head lazily. “Oh?” His sharp gaze flicked to Luca, who immediately tensed under the weight of his stare.

Luca gulped. “D-Damien…?”

Damien leaned down, his lips brushing the shell of Luca’s ear.

“Who do you want to take care of you, ?” he murmured. “Me… or her?”

Luca’s brain shut down. His fever swelled, his breath hitching as Damien’s fingers traced down his arm.

Ava blinked. “Obviously me!”

Damien chuckled darkly. “Oh? Let’s ask him, then.” He tilted Luca’s chin up, forcing him to meet his golden, intense gaze.

“Say it, angel,” he whispered. “Who do you want?”

Luca whimpered. His lips trembled.

And then—

“AVA!!”

He lunged into the little girl’s arms, completely betraying Damien.

Ava cheered and hugged him tight, while Damien froze.

The room went dead silent.

Then—

CRACK!

The chair Damien was sitting on shattered under the force of his grip.

Luca flinched.

Ava blinked. “Papa?”

Damien smiled—dangerously.

“Oh, angel,” he purred, reaching for Luca’s waist.

Luca’s stomach dropped. “D-Damien, wait—”

“Too late.”

And then—Luca yelled as Damien scooped him up into his arms like a sack of flour, completely ignoring Ava’s protests.

“DAMIEN, NO!” Luca whined, kicking his feet. “I chose Ava!”

Damien smirked. “Wrong choice.”

And with that, he carried his squirming, feverish angel out of the room, fully prepared to personally nurse him back to health—with absolutely no escape.
