Gemini had been struggling for days now, caught in an internal war with himself. No matter how much he tried to avoid it, Fourth kept pulling him in-without even realizing it. Every glance, every hesitant smile, every damn way he bit his lip when he was nervous-it was driving Gemini insane.
Tonight was no different.
Everyone had gathered in the living room, chatting and teasing as usual, but Gemini barely registered any of it. His focus was drawn to Fourth, sitting just a little too close, his eyes bright as he laughed at something Tu had said. Gemini's grip on his glass tightened.
He didn't know when he started staring.
Didn't know when his body moved on its own.
All he knew was that suddenly, they were alone-or at least, it felt that way. Fourth had turned to him, his expression soft, questioning. "Gemini? Are you okay?"
Gemini's throat went dry. The way Fourth was looking at him-curious, gentle, unaware of the storm brewing inside him-made it impossible to think straight. His heartbeat pounded in his ears as his gaze dropped to Fourth's lips once again. He had been fighting this for too long.
And for once, he stopped fighting.
Before he could second-guess himself, Gemini leaned in and captured Fourth's lips in a kiss.
It was brief, barely a brush of lips, but it was enough to make Fourth freeze in place. For a split second, Gemini felt nothing but warmth, a strange sense of rightness. But just as quickly as it happened, reality came crashing back.
A loud gasp shattered the silence.
Gemini's entire body tensed as he slowly pulled away. Fourth's wide eyes mirrored the shock he felt, his cheeks dusted pink, lips slightly parted in surprise. But before either of them could say a word-
"Oh. My. God."
Gemini stiffened at Prim's voice, dread settling in his stomach. Slowly, he turned his head-and there they were. All of them. His siblings, his friends, his entire damn family, standing by the doorway with eyes as wide as saucers.
Tu had her phone out, camera open. Pond was outright gaping. Phuwin looked like he was trying not to laugh. Prim, of course, had the most delighted grin on her face.
"Well, well, well," Tu drawled, lowering her phone. "What do we have here?"
Fourth made a strangled noise, hiding his face behind his hands. Gemini, on the other hand, felt heat rise to his ears. His jaw clenched. "How long have you all been standing there?"
"Long enough," Pond grinned.
Phuwin smirked. "Long enough to watch you absolutely lose the war with your feelings."
Prim clapped her hands together. "I knew it! I knew you liked him!"
Gemini scowled, raking a hand through his hair. "This is ridiculous."
"Oh, is it?" Tu raised an eyebrow, waving her phone. "Because this video says otherwise."
Fourth let out a groan and buried his face in his hands again. "I'm never leaving this room again."
Gemini glared at Tu. "Delete that."
"Not a chance." Tu grinned. "This is historic."
Prim looped her arm through Fourth's, practically buzzing with excitement. "Fourth, how did it feel? Did he kiss you properly or was it just a peck? We need details."
Fourth groaned louder, hiding his face in Prim's shoulder. Gemini shot to his feet, grabbing Fourth's wrist. "We're leaving."
"Ooooh," Pond teased. "Running away now, are we?"
"I swear to God," Gemini gritted out, dragging Fourth behind him as they escaped down the hallway, leaving behind the sound of laughter and relentless teasing. But as much as he wanted to be pissed off, he couldn't shake one undeniable truth.
He had kissed Fourth.
And he wanted to do it again.
_____
Gemini stormed down the hallway, still dragging Fourth behind him. His pulse was racing, his grip tight, his mind a complete mess. He didn't know if he was angry, embarrassed, or both. All he knew was that he had to get away from those lunatics before they started making bets on how long their marriage would last.
Fourth stumbled slightly but followed, his face still burning. He wasn't sure how to process what had just happened. One second, they had been sitting there, talking, and the next-
He touched his lips absentmindedly, his fingers trembling.
Gemini kissed him.
And then everyone saw it.
His stomach flipped at the thought. Was he supposed to say something? Was he supposed to act normal? But how could he when his heart was still racing and his legs felt weak?
Gemini finally stopped when they reached their bedroom, yanking the door open and pulling Fourth inside before slamming it shut. He turned around abruptly, running a frustrated hand through his hair before pacing.
Fourth stood awkwardly near the door, unsure what to do. Should he speak? Should he wait for Gemini to say something first?
"So," he finally murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "You kissed me."
Gemini froze mid-step. He turned his head slightly, his jaw clenched. "Yeah. I did."
An awkward silence stretched between them. Fourth swallowed hard, shifting on his feet. "And... why did you do that?"
Gemini exhaled harshly. "I don't know."
Fourth frowned. "You don't know?"
"Jesus, Fourth." Gemini pinched the bridge of his nose, clearly irritated. "I don't have an answer, alright? It just happened."
Fourth bit his lip, looking down at the floor. Something about Gemini's tone stung a little. "So... it didn't mean anything?"
Gemini's head snapped up at that, his eyes locking onto Fourth's. "I didn't say that."
Fourth's breath caught in his throat. There was something different in Gemini's expression-something raw, something vulnerable. The usual harshness in his eyes was gone, replaced by something softer, something hesitant.
Fourth took a cautious step forward. "Then what did it mean?"
Gemini sighed, his hands falling to his sides. "I don't know what you want me to say."
Fourth hesitated before taking another step. "The truth would be nice."
Gemini scoffed lightly, shaking his head. "The truth?" His voice was quieter now. "The truth is... I can't stop thinking about you."
Fourth's eyes widened. "What?"
"I tried ignoring it. I thought if I stayed distant, if I kept being an ass to you, it would go away." Gemini laughed bitterly. "But it didn't. It only got worse."
Fourth's heart was pounding so loudly he could barely hear his own thoughts. He took another step closer. "Gemini..."
Gemini looked away, rubbing his face with his hands. "And now, thanks to those nosy idiots, we'll never hear the end of it."
Fourth let out a soft laugh. "That's what you're worried about?"
Gemini gave him a pointed look. "You don't know them like I do. They're relentless."
Fourth smiled, feeling some of his nervousness fade. He reached out hesitantly, his fingers brushing against Gemini's wrist. "We're married, Gemini. They already won."
Gemini stiffened slightly at the touch, his eyes flickering down to Fourth's hand before slowly meeting his gaze. "Yeah," he murmured, softer now. "We are."
Another moment of silence stretched between them, but this time, it wasn't awkward. It was charged, expectant.
Then, before Fourth could second-guess himself, he squeezed Gemini's wrist gently and whispered, "For what it's worth... I didn't mind the kiss."
Gemini inhaled sharply, his body going rigid for a split second before he exhaled in defeat. "Damn it, Fourth."
Fourth smiled-small, shy, but real.
And Gemini, for once, didn't look away.
