Chapter 41: More Than Just a Game
Things should have gone back to normal.
Shen Yu told himself that over and over again. But no matter how much he tried to focus on school, student council, or literally anything else, his mind kept betraying him.
That kiss.
It was just a mistake. A spur-of-the-moment thing. He shouldn't be thinking about it. He didn't want to think about it.
But he did.
So when another round of Truth or Dare started in the common room, he made sure to sit as far away from Lu Zhixuan as possible. He had a bad feeling about this.
And sure enough—
"Shen Yu," Bai Xue's voice rang out, far too cheerful. "Truth or dare?"
Shen Yu sighed. "Truth." It was the safer option.
Or so he thought.
Bai Xue's eyes sparkled with pure mischief. "Do you want to kiss Lu Zhixuan again?"
Silence.
Shen Yu's brain short-circuited. He could feel the weight of everyone's stares. His ears burned.
"I—What—NO!"
The group erupted in laughter. Someone whistled. Someone else gasped dramatically. And Shen Yu wanted the earth to open up and swallow him whole.
Lu Zhixuan, of course, was perfectly composed. He leaned back against the couch, his smirk lazy and full of amusement.
"Liar," he said smoothly.
Shen Yu gasped. "I AM NOT!"
Bai Xue giggled. "Then why are you so red?"
"I AM NOT RED—"
More laughter. Shen Yu groaned, burying his face in his hands. He was never going to live this down.
He shot Bai Xue a look filled with pure betrayal. She only winked.
That was it. He was going to get her back for this.
