Chapter 46: A New Kind of Trouble
The moment their lips parted, Shen Yu was left breathless, his heart hammering wildly in his chest. He had kissed back.
He actually kissed back.
Lu Zhixuan studied him, his dark eyes filled with something unreadable. Something that sent a shiver down Shen Yu's spine.
"See?" Lu Zhixuan murmured, his lips barely inches away. "That wasn't so hard, was it?"
Shen Yu, still reeling, shoved both hands against Lu Zhixuan's chest. "Shut up!"
Lu Zhixuan chuckled, but he didn't move far. "Are you going to keep pretending this means nothing?"
Shen Yu clenched his jaw, his pulse still racing. "I—I need to think."
Before Lu Zhixuan could say anything else, Shen Yu turned and bolted down the hallway, ignoring the amused, knowing look the other boy gave him.
By the time Shen Yu reached the cafeteria, he was still in a daze. He slumped into a seat across from Bai Xue, exhaling sharply.
Bai Xue took one look at his flustered face and smirked. "You look like someone whose whole world just flipped upside down."
Shen Yu groaned, burying his face in his arms. "I don't want to talk about it."
"That bad, huh?" Bai Xue rested her chin on her hand, watching him with far too much amusement. "Or was it that good?"
Shen Yu lifted his head just enough to glare at her. "I swear, Bai Xue—"
"Oh no, you're using my full name." She gasped dramatically. "That definitely means something serious happened."
Then her eyes widened. "Wait. Did he kiss you again?"
Shen Yu choked on his drink.
Bai Xue gasped, then grinned like she just won the lottery. "Oh my god, he did!"
Shen Yu groaned, covering his face with both hands.
"And you didn't push him away this time, did you?" Bai Xue teased, leaning closer.
Shen Yu muttered something unintelligible.
Bai Xue's grin stretched even wider. "Ohhh. Shen Yu. You totally like him."
"I hate you," Shen Yu grumbled.
Bai Xue giggled. "You love me." Then she paused dramatically. "Just not as much as you love—"
"Stop talking!" Shen Yu slammed his hands on the table, face burning.
Bai Xue only laughed harder.
