Chapter 8: The Infuriating Male Lead
Shen Yu thought student council duties would be a one-time ordeal, but Lu Zhixuan had other plans. Every time he tried to escape, Lu Zhixuan would somehow drag him back in.
"Zhao Rui, take these to the office."
"Zhao Rui, help set up for the assembly."
"Zhao Rui, you're coming to the meeting, right?"
It was endless. No matter how much Shen Yu tried to slip away, Lu Zhixuan always had another task conveniently lined up for him.
By the third day, Shen Yu slumped against a desk in the student council room, exhausted. "Why am I basically your assistant now?"
Lu Zhixuan, who was busy reviewing documents, barely glanced at him. "You said you wanted to prove yourself. Consider this training."
Shen Yu narrowed his eyes. "Training for what? A lifetime of suffering?"
Lu Zhixuan finally looked at him, amusement dancing in his eyes. "Something like that."
Shen Yu groaned. "You're enjoying this way too much."
A faint smirk curved Lu Zhixuan's lips. "Maybe."
Shen Yu grumbled under his breath, resisting the urge to throw a pen at him. This was definitely not in the original plot.
And somehow, he had a sinking feeling it was only going to get worse.
Later that afternoon, as Shen Yu tried to make a break for it, Lu Zhixuan appeared at his side, as if he had been expecting it.
"Going somewhere?"
Shen Yu froze mid-step. "Uh. Home?"
Lu Zhixuan held up a stack of folders. "Not before you help me sort through these."
Shen Yu groaned dramatically. "Why me? There are, like, ten other council members in there."
"They're busy."
"And I'm not?"
Lu Zhixuan smiled. "Not anymore."
Shen Yu dragged a hand down his face. He had walked right into that one.
"This is bullying," he muttered, snatching the folders from Lu Zhixuan's hand.
Lu Zhixuan hummed. "It's efficiency."
Shen Yu shot him a glare, but Lu Zhixuan was already walking ahead, completely unfazed.
This was supposed to be a villain story.
So why did he feel like he was the one being tormented instead?
