"Since the children are at school, we'll introduce you there first," Stella began. "Most of the staff are also in the school, so you'll have the chance to get acquainted with them. After that, we'll introduce you to the staff in the Counselor's Office, the Toy Store, the Playhouse, and Home Sweet Home, where the children sleep and relax."
She pushed the door open, revealing a long hallway lined with closed classroom doors. Although Yazmina couldn't see inside, she could hear the distant chatter of children and the voices of teachers conducting lessons.
"You might be surprised," Stella said with a mysterious smile, "but the teachers here aren't exactly... human."
Yazmina turned to her without asking and her expressions were unfazed.
Stella knocked on a classroom door.
A moment later, it swung open, revealing a human-sized figure with a plastic-like exterior and a fixed, cheerful expression.
The artificial teacher, who Yazmina assumed was Miss Delight as what the game introduced, stood before them, her mechanical features curving into a flawless yet unnerving smile.
"Hello, Doctor Greyber, and to you, our new visitor," Miss Delight greeted in a cheerful, robotic voice and then her eyes fixed on her for a moment. "Come inside."
Stepping aside, she gestured them in, then turned to the students, her movements eerily precise. "Children, Doctor Greyber is here! As I mentioned earlier, we have a special visitor today. Everyone, please welcome Doctor Greyber."
In perfect unison, the children turned toward them and chorused, "Welcome, Doctor Greyber!" Their voices were bright and cheerful.
Miss Delight's plastic face remained frozen in a pleasant smile. "Doctor Greyber, would you like to introduce our guest?"
Before he could speak, hushed whispers rippled through the classroom.
"Is the new doctor better than Doctor Greyber?"
"I hope she's kind and treats us nicely."
"I wonder if she'll put us to sleep and read us stories like Mathew does."
"I just hope she's not as strict and scary as Doctor Greyber and Doctor Pierre..."
The soft murmurs reached Yazmina's ears as she stepped inside. Her figure is the epitome of elegance and allure, with an enviable balance of curves and grace.
Her slender yet shapely frame exudes an effortless poise, much like a runway model gracing the catwalk. Her long, sculpted legs add to her statuesque presence, giving her an air of sophistication with every step she takes.
She offered a warm smile. "Hello, kids! I'm Doctor Yazmina Fleur De la Vega. It's a pleasure to meet you all."
Gasps of admiration filled the room.
"Wow! I've never seen a doctor this pretty before!"
"Her voice is so nice!"
"Her eyes look just like the poppy flowers in our bedroom-so beautiful!"
"I want to be like her when I grow up!"
"No way, I'm going to be her when I grow up!"
"Hey, stop! We need to be quiet so she'll like us!"
Yazmina chuckled softly, her heart warming at their cute and innocent admiration. This was the purity she longed to protect-the untainted joy of childhood.
Stella gently raised a hand, her tone calm but firm. "Alright, hush now, children. Doctor Yazmina will be learning about our facility today, and she will take charge whenever I'm unavailable. So let's give her a warm welcome."
The children nodded in unison, their eager gazes fixed on Yazmina with excitement.
Miss Delight clapped her hands together, the sound strangely hollow. "Now, let's resume our lesson. Doctor Greyber and Miss Yazmina, you're welcome to observe."
As Yazmina stepped further into the room, she observed Miss Delight closely. The robotic teacher moved with unsettling precision, each gesture smooth yet mechanical, each word spoken with eerie perfection.
Yazmina's eyes flickered toward Stella, lowering her voice. "How... advanced are they?"
Stella's lips curved into a knowing smile. "You'll see soon enough."
As what Yazmina observed, Miss Delight performed her duties remarkably well despite being just a toy. Yazmina could see that she cared for the children-but not in the way a human would.
Her concern felt programmed, as if it was merely part of her function rather than a genuine emotion.
"As you can see," Stella continued, "Miss Delight isn't the only one. We have other teachers just like her. They may not be human, but they take good care of the children."
Yazmina listened, but she didn't take Stella's words seriously. She already knew what was coming-she had seen it all before in the game.
As the lesson concluded, a small child approached her hesitantly, holding out a delicate paper flower.
"This is for you, Doctor Yazmina! It's a welcome gift. I hope you'll be kind to us!"
Yazmina's heart softened as she accepted the carefully crafted flower, a warm smile gracing her lips. Just as she was about to ask the child's name, Doctor Greyber's voice called her from the hallway.
"Doctor De la Vega, let's meet the other teachers."
She glanced back at the child, but the moment had passed. Slipping the paper flower into her pocket, she turned and followed Greyber out of the classroom.
The hallway felt quieter now, almost too still. As they walked, Yazmina's gaze flickered to the closed doors lining the corridor. Behind each one, she imagined another classroom, another set of children being taught by mechanical figures just like Miss Delight.
Stella gestured toward the next room. "This is where we keep some of our more specialized teachers. Some of them handle advanced learning, while others focus on emotional and behavioral development."
Doctor Greyber placed his hand on the door handle and pushed it open. As Yazmina stepped inside, she was met with more teachers, all bearing the same artificial features and eerily similar voices.
Their presence, though meant to be comforting, only added to the uncanny atmosphere of the school.
After finishing her visit to the classrooms, she was introduced to the staff responsible for maintaining the facility-those who cleaned, organized, and ensured the school ran smoothly. Along the way, she learned the names of the teachers who hadn't been portrayed in the game.
"I never thought that In addition to Miss Delight, there were Miss Harmony, Miss Cheer, Miss Joybelle, Miss Lumin, Miss Merriweather, Miss Felicity, and Miss Gleam"
A strange sense of fulfillment settled within her, as if she had just checked off an item on her life's bucket list.
One of her long-held curiosities had finally been answered.
With Doctor Greyber called away for an urgent case, the staff took over and continued her tour around Playcare. As Yazmina walked through the brightly lit halls, an odd sense of familiarity settled over her.
Though this was her first time here, she already knew so much-perhaps too much. A thought lingered at the back of her mind-this was only the beginning.
A slow smile spread across her lips, an expression that should have been warm but instead carried a strange, unreadable edge. The staff guiding her paused, their eyes subtly flickering toward her.
There was something about her smile-too poised, too knowing.
It sent a fleeting shiver through them, though none dared to speak on it.
Yet, despite the unsettling aura, her beauty remained undeniable.
The contrast between her elegance and that peculiar, almost eerie expression made her all the more captivating-like a doll crafted too perfectly, its charm teetering on the edge of uncanny.
Yazmina noticed their stares and let out a soft chuckle, her voice laced with amusement. "Is something wrong?"
One of the staff members quickly shook their head, forcing a polite smile. "Not at all, Doctor De la Vega. Shall we continue?"
She nodded, tucking her hands behind her back as they resumed their walk. Her mind, however, was elsewhere.
This world, this place-it was real now. Not just a game, not just a story.
And she had a role to play.
