Mommy Long Legs was really making him do all the hard work.
As he moved forward, he spotted a set of rainbow stairs leading upward-but several steps were missing.
Great.
He tested the gap, wondering if he could jump across. It wasn't impossible, but it was risky.
Still, he tried-
And fell.
Thankfully, it wasn't that high. He hit the ground with a dull thud, shaking off the impact before glancing upward.
From this angle, he noticed something-a steel bar with yellow and black stripes suspended overhead.
That would do.
He raised his Grabpack, aimed-
SNAP.
The Blue Hand latched onto the bar. With a sharp pull, he hoisted himself up, swinging forward before landing on the flat surface of the upper level.
Finally.
He turned-and immediately spotted a Candy Cat cutout standing nearby.
Curious, he pressed the button.
"Press the button to feed me candy!"
Huh.
He pressed it again.
"Om, nom, nom! Feed me more!"
Okay.
"Om nom nom!"
One more time.
"Om nom nom! Okay no more! I'm full."
He pressed it again.
"I said no more!"
And again.
"Stoppppp..."
And again.
Then-
The voice warped, distorted, becoming eerily unnatural. Something about the way it glitched made his skin crawl.
Yeah. Time to leave.
He hurried forward, entering a narrow hallway lined with thick electrical wires. The air was heavy with the smell of rust and old plastic.
Up ahead-
An entrance. Blocked by a thick metal gate.
Damn.
He turned and moved deeper into the room, scanning for another way.
Another entrance.
Another gate.
But this one had a lever behind it.
If he could just reach that-
Then-
ALARMS BLARED.
His entire body tensed.
Shit-Shit-Shit.
He expected something to emerge.
Some kind of monster.
And sure enough-
From the entrance ahead, a shadow loomed.
Tall. Lanky.
Long arms swaying.
It was walking toward him.
His pulse spiked.
The silhouette was familiar.
Huggy Wuggy.
Damn-Damn-Damn-!
He turned, about to run- But something was off.
The figure wasn't blue.
The dim light illuminated it-
Pink.
His breath hitched.
It wasn't Huggy Wuggy at all.
It was Kissy Missy.
The giant pink Huggy.
He had seen the toy before. It was just as famous as Huggy Wuggy-maybe even designed to be his counterpart.
Yet-
It just stood there.
Watching him.
Head tilted.
Curious.
Like it was wondering what he was doing here.
He hesitated before gesturing toward the lever behind the gate.
"...Pull it."
Kissy Missy's bright black eyes followed his hand to the lever.
Then-
It moved.
A large, floppy hand reached for the lever.
But-
It slipped.
The arms were too soft. Too unsteady. Kissy Missy tried again.
And this time-
CLICK.
The lever was pulled down. The gate began rising.
Kissy was about to go back to the entrance but it stopped and glanced back at him.
It didn't speak.
Didn't make a single sound.
But the way it lingered-
It was as if it wanted to say something?
Then Kissy Missy turned away. Walking toward the exit. Disappearing through the door.
It was gone.
Vanished into the factory's shadows. He frowned. For some reason, that encounter felt... different.
But there was no time to think about it.
He had to play the last game.
Turning, he stepped forward- And continued deeper into the factory.
There were a lot of entrances ahead- But every single one was blocked by a gate.
Great. Just great.
Then-
He noticed a power circuit on the wall.
He raised his Green Hand, activating the GrabPack's energy storage. With the stored power, he moved between circuits, transferring energy to each one-
One by one, the gates unlocked.
As he proceeded, he came across something unusual-
A Barry Cart.
It was a large wheeled cart, loaded with toys and factory equipment.
Could be useful.
He grabbed onto it and began dragging it along.
But as he moved-
Something else caught his eye.
A VHS tape.
He picked it up, spotting a VCR player nearby.
Might as well.
He inserted the tape.
With a faint click, the TV above it flickered to life.
Static-
Then-
A recorded video began playing.
[VHS Recording]
A nervous employee sitting on a chair and he looked shaken.
Marcas: "Sir... I saw something."
Leith: "What did you see?"
Leith Pierre's voice was heard.
Marcas: "I was cleaning near the back gate, yeah? Thought I was alone. Then-"
"...A mop moved on its own."
Leith: "A mop? Really?"
Marcas: "No! That's not the point! I looked through the gate and-"
Leith: "Alright. What exactly did you see?"
Marcas: "...A monster. Fifty feet long. A thousand legs."
Silence.
Then Leith scoffed.
Leith: "Marcas, maybe you just saw a bunch of people walking by."
Marcas: "No, sir! It wasn't people! It wasn't even-"
He paused.
Marcas: "...It wasn't human."
Leith: "Hm.. who have you told about this?, besides me obviously."
Marcas: "...Just you, sir. Obviously."
A long pause.
Then-
Leith: "okay.. I'll have the security skim through the cameras and take a look."
Marcas: "WHAT?! There's a massive bloody.... monster! Skimming ain't gonna get rid of it!"
Leith's voice was heard laced with anger.
Leith: "You're out of line, Marcas."
"...We make toys. Not monsters."
Leith: "Now get out of my sight."
Leith: "...Actually-grab me a coffee, will ya?"
A pause. Then he changed his mind.
Leith: " Actually, never mind. Just get out of my sight"
[VHS Recording Ends]
The TV shut down. Static vanished.
And silence settled in.
He stood there, processing it.
...Leith knew.
He knew about that monster.
And he didn't care.
But-
That happened back when Leith and that employee was still working here.
Which meant-
That thing was still around.
A deep unease settled in his stomach.
He had no idea what he was up against.
Forcing himself to move, he continued forward.
Breaking Through
Up ahead- A slope.
Blocked off.
Damn.
But-
That's why he brought Barry.
He positioned the cart at the top of the slope-And shoved it forward.
CRASH!
The obstruction shattered. Clearing a path.
He stepped through the opening-
And found himself in a dimly lit maintenance area.
Large pipes ran along the walls, rusted from age.
The air was stale.
Then-
He spotted a hole in the floor.
The only way forward.
No turning back now.
Taking a deep breath-
He jumped down.
He landed with a grunt, glancing around-
And froze.
Im back.
At the entrance of Whack-a-Wuggy.
...Seriously?
All that work-
Just to end up back here?
Mommy Long Legs was really going out of her way to make this difficult.
He sighed.
Then-
He turned to the control panel.
The last lever remained.
Reaching out-
He grabbed it and pulled it down.
The next game was about to begin.
Then-
A familiar voice crackled through the speaker.
"Geez, have you played this before? You were so good!" Her tone was sugary sweet-
"Seems like you're ready for the final game: Statues! Follow Mommy down the stairs one last time."
Then-
"I hope you had a fun day at the Game Station...See you next time~!" The speaker cut off. A mechanical creak. Like a gate unlocking.
His eyes flickered down the stairwell. A large sign loomed above it- STATUES.
Bright and colorful, yet unnerving in its childlike innocence with a big illustration of PJ Pug-a-Pillar's head.
He was about to step forward-
But something stopped him.
A prickling sensation. His breath hitched. He whipped his head left.
Nothing.
Right.
Still nothing.
The dim lights barely illuminated the area, casting long shadows across the floor. His heartbeat quickened.
Slowly-
His gaze drifted to the nearby bench.
Something- Someone was sitting there.
A silhouette.
Still. Unmoving.
He blinked-
And it was gone?
Nothing there.
He swallowed hard. Was it his imagination? Or something else? He exhaled, shaking the thought from his head. He needed to keep moving.
With that, he turned toward the entrance of the Statues game and stepped inside.
