CHAPTER 9- ADRIEN’S BREAKING POINT
Adrien had been watching...
Watching as Aurora laughed with Sebastian...
Watching as she spent her time with him instead of with Adrien....
He had been patient, hoping that things would change, that she would realize who truly deserved her attention.
But she didn’t...
Instead, she kept getting closer to Sebastian.
His fingers tightened around the steering wheel of the rental car, his knuckles turning white.
His mind was a whirlwind of jealousy, rage, and desperation.
If Sebastian wasn’t around, if he was out of the picture even for a while, Aurora would be forced to look elsewhere.
She would have no choice but to return to him.
The perfect opportunity came when he saw Sebastian walking alone on a quiet road near his house.
It was late, the streets were mostly empty...
Sebastian had his hands stuffed in his pockets, earphones plugged in, completely unaware of his surroundings.
Adrien’s heart pounded as he pressed his foot against the accelerator, the car creeping forward.
His grip on the wheel was firm, his breath shallow.
This wasn’t meant to kill...
Just a simple accident, A broken leg, a fractured rib...
enough to keep Sebastian in a hospital bed for weeks, away from Aurora.
That was all he needed.
As the car sped up, Sebastian finally noticed the headlights approaching him.
His eyes widened, panic flashing across his face. He barely had time to react before the car slammed into him.
The impact sent Sebastian crashing onto the hood, rolling off to the ground with a sickening thud.
Adrien’s hands trembled on the wheel as he felt the jolt of contact, the reality of what he had just done settling in.
For a moment, silence filled the street.
Then, a scream...
Aurora....
Adrien’s blood ran cold as he saw her running toward Sebastian.
He hadn’t seen her, hadn’t known she was there.
She had witnessed everything.
She fell to her knees beside Sebastian, her hands hovering over his unconscious form, tears filling her eyes.
“Sebastian! Sebastian, wake up!” Her voice was frantic, filled with panic and fear.
Adrien sat frozen in the car, gripping the wheel so tightly that his nails dug into the leather.
This wasn’t how it was supposed to happen.
She wasn’t supposed to be here.
And now, instead of pulling her away from Sebastian, he had only pushed her closer to him.
