"Babe, when are you gonna meet me," I asked my best friend Noah, who just got here as her mother married someone residing here.
"You come to me, come to this giant home. We can catch up and have a pool day," Noah suggested.
"Wait, who even is your brother?" You look at her on your phone screen as she rolls her eyes, she does not like him much.
"Oh of course you want to know about the boy and not your best friend," she joked and you flipped her off laughing.
"Just kidding, his name is Nick. He sucks, so rude," she said with distaste.
"Nick, last name?" You question, the name being familiar. She told you the last name as the bells rang in your head.
"He is your brother?!" You yelled in shock, before continuing calmly, "I've heard of the man but have never met or seen him."
"How do you know him?" Noah asks in confusion.
"Babes he is a racer where I race. From what I know, he's a bad boy cliche basically. I haven't seen him in person yet though, but I heard he is quite handsome."
"Oh my god, he is not. I've seen his face and I find Dan more attractive, whereas I don't see why you find him geeky," Noah said smiling, thinking of her boyfriend before continuing, "Here, look at his picture of him." She flipped the camera to a picture of him and this adorable little girl.
"Oh please, that man might marry the movies over you," you rolled your eyes, before looking at the screen. "Oh my god, that's your brother and the bad boy?" You yelled in shock.
"He is not Jay, don't even."
"He is! He is so attractive, look at that jawline, oh my." You fanned yourself before laughing at your dramatics. "He is good looking babe, I'm going to leave it at that." Noah shook her head at you.
"Anyway babe, I'm going to the races tonight. Gotta make some cash, ask your brother to bring you with, yeah? Jenna said he is coming, I just texted her and asked for you."
"Um, okay I guess," Noah sighed, thinking of having to chat with him.
"Excuse me, what do you mean I guess? Come see me tonight," you laugh. "He can't be that bad unless you're making him be like that," you joked.
"Ugh, I can't with you sometimes. Alright, see you tonight. I'll make him take me." You smiled hearing that and ended the Facetime after saying bye.
You started to get ready for the races tonight, wearing camouflage cargo pants with a black top and leather jacket. I curled my hair, texted Noah see you soon and headed out.
You made my way to my baby, my Nissan R34 Skyline. She was a piece of my heart, and I adored her. I'd make it known to whoever causes any damage to my car, watch your back.
And some didn't listen until they saw what had happened to their car. I don't play around.
You speed down the highway and turn into the lot where the meet was. You drifted into the spot next to Jenna's car, making the crew's head turn and laugh at your entrance.
You get out of the car before tumbling down as someone runs and hugs you. That someone is Noah.
"Oh my god Noah!" You laugh on the floor, hugging her.
"Alright babes, let's get off the floor yeah? Jenna said.
You both get up and hug again before going to the gang. You hugged Jenna as you shook the boys' hands while saying, "What's up crew?"
"You racing tonight?" Lion asked and you nodded.
"Hey, let's introduce her to Nick today yeah? Make it happen," Jenna spoke and Landon laughed.
"Bro it's crazy for real, when he is around then she's on track. If she's hear then he's mingling with the others or on track. Absolutely crazy that they haven't met," Landon spoke while shaking his head in disbelief. You smiled and shook your head.
"At least point the man out now, I've got to go line up as I'm racing next. Let's see this bad boy," you say glancing around. However, your eyes stopped when they met another pair of eyes. He was looking at you with a hint of curiosity in his eyes. He had frosted tips, a strong jawline and overall hot.
"Damn, who is that man with the frosted tips there," you asked the gang as they turned to see where you were looking.
"Oh lovely, babe that's Nick," Jenna answers. Your head whipped back to look at her so fast.
"Woah chill Jay, you gone give yourself whiplash," Lion laughed as Jenna spoke again, "Babe, don't tell me." You looked at her and she gave you that look.
"He is! What else do you want me to say? He really is, god took his time with him for sure," you say as you look back at him, making eye contact again. Nick shook the guy's hand before making his way to the crew.
"Oh shit, he's coming. Aww shit, and I'm being waved for the race, alright, see you guys after." Jenna hugged you as the boys dabbed you up.
"Good luck," Noah spoke as you looked at her with a smirk.
"Babe, you're saying that to the wrong person in this race," you reply before getting in the car and driving off to the starting line.
"Wait, who is she racing?" Landon asked.
"I don't know," Jenna responded as she looked at Noah. "She tell you anything?" Noah just shook her head no.
"Oh shit!" Jenna exclaimed.
"What?" Nick asked as Zach got on the roof of Jenna's car.
"Bro, she's racing someone from Ronnie's crew. Oh shit, no no no," Jenna pinched the bridge of her nose. The sound of tires screeching let her know she was late to realize as she quickly pulled her phone out.
"Bro Ronnie isn't gonna let her go even if she wins this race," she spoke worried as she pulled up the stream of the race.
"Who are you talking about," Nick asked confused as he looked around at the others for an answer, except Noah. he couldn't stand her.
"Jay, she was the girl standing with us in the leather jacket and camo pants. Shit Jay, what are you thinking," Jenna's voice filled with concern. Nick moved and stood next to her, watching the race.
He didn't know Jay as well, he saw the back of her a couple of times but today was the first time he saw her face. She had a pretty face Nick had thought at the time when they made eye contact.
"Shit, does she know what she's getting herself into?" Nick looked at Jenna who gave him the look of "does-she-look-stupid".
"Never mind, look at the race, it's almost at the end," Nick said quickly.
The cars were close, Jay was inches ahead of her opponent. It was down straight now to the finish line, and the opponent activated their boost, getting ahead of Jay. You could see her smirk as her lips moved, saying something.
Then she activated her boost making it ahead of her opponent whose NOS started to run low. However, Jay saw the look on her opponent's face as she quickly shifted gears and sped past as her opponent had swerved, trying to hit her car. She managed to avoid it narrowly before crossing the finish line.
She came out of her car with a smirk while Ronnie was fuming. The crew ran over to her as Ronnie made his way to her, face red from anger.
She took the cash from the holder as Jenna ran and hugged her.
"Oh babe, I'm so pissed at you right now for this race," Jenna scolded.
"Jay! Just cause you've won this doesn't me this is over," Ronnie warned.
"Get over it already Ronnie, I'm not joining your little crew so you can disrespectfully fuck off." You rolled your eyes as he grabbed your wrist.
Nick, Landon and Lion rushed forward, ready to defend you, but you swung at Ronnie before they could come forward.
"Don't fucking touch me, and leave me alone Ronnie. I will punch your lights out." You glared at him, before walking away to your car with Jenna who held your hand.
"Oh, I see how it is Jay. You won't be with my crew but you're with little Nicki's crew. I'll just fight little Nick then, I'll have my share too," Ronnie yelled as you turned around in disgust at how he made you sound like an object.
Nick came forward and swung at Ronnie, outraged.
The two were broken apart as Ronnie began yelling at Nick and taunting him while someone else yelled, "Cops! Get out of here!"
Your eyes widen at hearing the police are here. You look for Noah, remembering the panic attacks she gets from violence. You saw her standing on the side, unable to breathe right. You push Jenna to Luis and tell them to get out of here and run to Noah.
"Babes it's okay, I'm here. However we have got to go, let's go," you rushed out and pulled her to your car as she got in and you sped away.
"Babes you good?" You asked looking over before back at the road.
"Yeah, yeah. Thanks, Jay," she said appreciating the girl, before getting upset. "Where the fuck is my brother?"
You felt a little anger at the boy for leaving her there like that. You smirk with that mischievous look on your face, "Let's go see him, shall we?"
She smiled back nodding as you called Lion.
"Where is Nick," you asked before Lion could say hello.
"I think a party, I'll send you the place yeah?"
"Cool," you say as Lion asks, "are you going to see him to shag him or punch him?"
"What do you think Lion," you respond with the tone of making it obvious what you're going to do.
"Don't break his nose, that's all," Lion spoke as you said you couldn't promise that and hung up.
You arrive at the party and meet Zach inside.
"Where is he," you asked wanting to find him and not bother with Zach.
"Follow me," he said as you turned to see Noah talking to Tom.
"Tom, fuck off. Noah, let's go," you spoke strictly, not liking Tom. He always had bad intentions.
Noah took the two beers from him and followed you as Zach leads you down. Noah handed you the bottle of beer, and you dump it out at the nearby sink.
"Why," she asked.
"Don't drink it, Tom never has good intentions," you warned before grabbing a random drink and handing Noah one, thinking she would let go of the beer bottle.
Zach pointed at Nick who was dancing with three ladies, as you made a face of disgust. Noah did too. You both made your way over as you yelled his name. He turned around and you both threw your drinks at him.
"What the fuck," he yelled.
"You left her at the race Nick, she doesn't know where she is here and that's not entirely safe for her at the races," you yelled back. You were focused on the argument with Nick and didn't notice Noah drinking the beer behind you.
You were over arguing with him and grabbed Noah's hand, going back up to the party. However, when you reached the dance floor, Noah was swaying and mumbling words together. Then you saw it, the beer bottle still in her hand.
Anger and disappointment filled you, disappointment over Noah not listening to you and anger at Tom.
"What happened to her," Nick asked as he reached the girls, running as hand through his hair. His presence ticked you off more but you had to deal with it for now.
"Fucking Tom happened," you say as you put Noah's arm over your shoulder, holding her weight as Nick got to the other side, helping in getting her out of here. After exiting one door and getting to the one to go out, you saw Tom standing there laughing with Zach.
"Hold her for one sec, yeah?" You ask Nick and he nods, a smirk creeping onto his face as you turn away. He knew what you were about to do.
Tom saw the girl coming and was about to start flirting but your fist met his face first.
"Jay, what the fuck," Zach spoke in disbelief as Tom held his bleeding nose.
"Zach shut the fuck up, and Tom you're a bitch" you say with anger before going back and not seeing Nick's smirk as you help take some of Noah's weight to his car.
As you were exiting, Tom yelled from behind, "Aw come on. I wanted to share the both of you, shame only of you drank."
That made Nick mad, hearing he laced both drinks but he was feeling a bit happy that Jay was smarter. He helped put Noah in the car before turning and going back through the door. Zach was about to speak but Nick cut him off by punching Tom in the same spot Jay did. Tom hunched over in pain, clutching his nose as it was definitely broken and maybe more now.
He came back out and saw Jay going through Noah's phone.
"Snooping through her phone while she's passed out, what a good friend you are," he joked and she turned to glare at him.
"I'm trying to find the address to your house. Since you wanna continue being a not so great brother and take her home," you responded while rolling your eyes at the end. You knew you were being rude but you were so over this night.
Nick felt a little irritated but shook his head, "Just follow me home."
You nod and are about to sit in your car until Nick spoke up again.
"Will you be able to keep up," he smirked with a look of challenge in his eyes.
You looked at him dead in the eye, replying with, "Try me."
And with that, you both were speeding off on the way home, Nick swerving between cars as you followed. Nick was already impressed seeing how she drove during the race but even more now when he saw you keeping up.
You both pulled into the driveway as Nick over to help move Noah to her room. Entering the house, admiring the interior as you make your way up.
"Like what you see," Nick asked. You hummed and continued to her room. You both placed her on the bed and then you tucked her in.
"You're a good friend," Nick said softly. You looked at him with your head tilted to the side.
"You're not a great brother," you say and he rolls his eyes as you both exit the room and go to the kitchen.
"I am not a shit brother, I had my reassurance that she was fine," he said, pouring a drink. Now it was your turn to roll your eyes.
"Really, what was that?" you asked, crossing your arms and leaning against the island looking at him.
He placed the cup down and moved to stand in front of you. He stepped closer to you as he spoke, "I saw you go to her when everyone was running."
He leaned in closer, speaking low, "I watched you calm her down from her panic attack and get her in your car. I am not a shit brother, cut me some of the shit."
Your faces were inches away, as you looked from his left to right eye, holding yourself together and refraining from looking at his lips.
"And you couldn't tell me this while keeping your distance," you asked quietly. He smirked and leaned even closer. Your lips were just an inch apart.
"Am I affecting you, Jay," he spoke so low and seductive.
"No," you spoke, holding your ground as you continued to stare into his eyes, not backing down. Instead, you accepted the challenge.
"I think you're affected by me instead," you added, placing your hand on his chest and leaning up, making your lips just centimeters away from his. His eyes immediately dropped down to your lips for a few seconds before looking back up.
You smirked, taking in your victory and whispered, "Goodnight Nick. And thanks for punching Ronnie and Tom." You walked away from the side his arm wasn't caging you in and grab your keys from the table.
"Why don't you stay the night, it's quite late outside," his voice echoed at behind as you were about to open the front door.
"In your room with you? Hmm, no thanks," you say as he laughs and shakes his head.
"We have a guest room, and I think Noah would rather like to see you in the morning based on what happened tonight," he answered.
"Um, sure then. For Noah, I'll stay," you say, emphasizing Noah's name.
"Come on then, I'll take you there. And see, I'm not that bad," he smirked.
"Yeah yeah, we know you're saying that because you just wanna have me stay," you tease.
You reached the door of the guest room and turned to him. He leaned in close to you and whispered, "Maybe I do want you to stay."
"First time meeting me, and I have you down bad already hmm," you whisper back, holding eye contact.
"What can I say, you've caught my eye. The way you drive, hold yourself and this pretty face." He leaned in closer, his lips hovered over yours.
"I won't fall for your games, Nick." He smirked hearing that and said,
"Who said this was a game?"
You stood there in silence as he said goodnight and turned to walk away and into his room, with the damn smirk still on his face.
